On the afternoon of Saturday, June 27th, I was so happy because I finally got to buy the pistachio croissants I had been wanting so badly. Today, I tried some of the samples at Costco. Out of everything I tasted, the tilapia and the focaccia were so delicious that my mom bought them. We actually had the tilapia for dinner tonight, and it was good. I also bought 4 Fogo de Chão gift cards at Costco today for our family dinner this weekend to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday, since she mentioned she wanted to go there. The total for the 4 gift cards came out to $319.96. Every time I go to Costco, the staff are always so friendly, and I love how spacious and clean it is, with everything I need right there. Plus, the gas prices are cheap, which is great.

Costco Burbank is a huge store where you can find almost everything you need. Today I saw a large…read moreinflatable pool for kids, a wooden slide for a private house installation, camping tents, clothing, food, household appliances, furniture -- basically everything from small everyday items to large household goods. You can only enter the store with a membership card. Recently, they also introduced a new rule: only the cardholder is allowed to pay for purchases. This is not always convenient, as in our case sometimes my husband paid, sometimes I paid, and sometimes our daughter used her card. Now this is no longer allowed. Shopping here is never a quick trip -- it usually takes around an hour because the store is so big. On average, our family of three spends about $250-$300 per visit, and that amount of groceries usually lasts us for about a week. Another interesting thing is that there are always different brand representatives in the store offering samples, so you can try products before buying them. It's actually very fun and helpful, and if you like something, you can purchase it right away. That's how I discovered one of my favorite flavors -- ginger, honey, and lemon, like a jam or spread. Now I love adding it to my tea. Overall, I do recommend this store for its variety and value. However, one downside is the long checkout lines, although this is understandable given how busy and popular it is.

Today, June 17, 2026, I went to Costco Business Center at North Hollywood without my City Visa…read morecard, my Costco card. First, they gave me a day pass without any problem. After an hour and a half of shopping, at the check out, I found out that they do not accept the only card I had with me, a Master Card. I thought the entire trip would be completely wasted, until the Cashier Cindy Ramarez suggested me to look into other ways to retrieve my City Card. She did not just brush me off because of a few customers in line. Then, it is the supervisor Jasmine Castillo, who spent a lot of her time, to help me. I recalled a picture of my card in my gallery and she helped me so I could transfer the information to an app, and therefore opened a Google Wallet. Then she scanned all the items and made sure my new method worked. I got to walk out with my groceries, feeling very grateful for all the helps I was given. I asked an employee if they had any available he quickly escorted me to the front desk and an associate immediately checked to see if there were any located in the store I was then taken to the manager and he also checked to see if there were any available for purchase ,in the back He said there were seven available and asked if I could wait about 10 minutes while he had his team locate the shelf I returned to the aisle to also look myself to see if the shelving unit was perhaps on a top rack, and I noted two employees scouring the immediate location, and I assumed they were looking for the shelf as well I was impressed that they were on it so quickly and earnestly At about 10 minutes, the manager came over himself to the aisle and informed me they weren't able to locate the seven that were in stock and let me know that more were coming in tomorrow and urged me to take a picture of the price sign with the order information so that I could call in to see if they had placed them out as opposed to making a trip down here again At that point another associate engaged with another team member and was informed that they knew where they were located in the store The store manager asked me to stay in the aisle and they would bring it to me Within a few minutes and associate approached me, asked me if I needed help and thanked me for my patience Wow! Every Thursday (which is when Art gets in his pallets of new inventory), she says to me "Happy Smarty's Day!" You just never know what you are going to find here. We have gotten the following items in the past year or two: a brand new Samsung dishwasher (a model that had only been on the market for five months, new in the box for over $700 off retail price!), a Ninja Creamy ice cream machine, Instant Pot lid that turns it into an air fryer, Dyson and Shark vacuum cleaners for hundreds off list price, deck boxes and hose reels for the backyard, a new microwave, an amazing array of plastic storage bins in all sizes for the garage/storage locker...and that's just off the top of my head! Going to Smarty's is our weekly treasure hunt. More than once, my daughter has bemoaned that she bought something elsewhere only to find it later at Smarty's for a fraction of the price. On the rare occasion that something we bought ended up damaged after we opened the box (which does happen from time to time, given the nature of the business of buying pallets of stuff from Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.), Art has always made good and given us a full refund. I am almost loathe to tell people about this store because I want to keep these amazing, secret deals all to myself, but I also want Art to stay in business forever. Thanks, Art!
