Our initial inquiry was sent on a Saturday, but the owner, Ruy Barbosa, replied within an hour. He met us the following workday to go over our needs and discussed various options. He projected confidence at being able to renovate our deck yet maintain its overall look. He was willing to work with us and the city's historic commission to preserve some key features of the deck. During the course of the work, Ruy and his staff were responsive to questions or changes that we requested. Communication with them was great. They were eager to please us and found ways to make the project stay on-time and within budget, even when curve balls were thrown at them. Overall, they renovated our dilapidated deck boards with composite flooring. They removed heavy railings and pillars, completely overhauled the structural supports, installed the composite flooring and finally replaced the railings & pillars. Additionally, we had them pressure wash and paint the deck. The cost associated with the structural supports and flooring was very much in line with what we believed was reasonable. Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

They were incredibly quick (responding within the first 45 mins of my Yelp request ) to respond when I discovered a water leak coming from outside. Since the source wasn't obvious (potentially an ice dam, roof issue, etc.), I really appreciated how quickly and thoroughly they assessed the situation. They were able to identify both how far the water had spread inside and pinpoint the exact source of entry from outside. Once the issue was identified, they moved fast to fix it properly. After repairing the exterior source, they took extra precautions inside, treating the affected area to prevent any potential mold, installing new insulation, replacing the ceiling and smoothing everything out, and finishing with a clean paint job. You'd never know there had been an issue as it was repaired well. Jean, in particular, was fantastic to work with. He was very accommodating to my schedule, acted with urgency throughout the entire process, and made a stressful situation feel manageable. He clearly explained the plan, the reasoning behind each step, and made sure I felt confident that the problem was fully resolved. Personally, Miron is trustworthy, hardworking and does not waste your time and gets right to the job. Miron helped us remodel many things in our house and he worked painstakingly to make sure it is done to perfection. He is intelligent, honest and does not cut corners. I personally think he is definitely one of the top ten contractors around. We have already recommended him to many of our friends.
