You go get in line. you get to the front, one hour later, to explain what you need and get a form to fill out. After you step aside and fill it out.... you get back in the same line. And you wait another hour to get a number. Then you wait for a window to call you. When I was there, 2 of the 6 windows were manned. It took an insane amount of time to get a copy of my marriage license. The irony is, I needed the marriage license so my wife could go to DMV to go through purgatory to get a REAL ID. There has got to be an easier way.

I would suggest going there early or late at night in order to get a court as it is a popular place to play and the city and other programs do host tennis clinics there on multiple courts.

We have told them at least a dozen times DO NOT CONTACT US and they just WILL NOT stop solicitations/harassing us with their propaganda ..... whatever... this organization is 100% useless. They have coffee for you in the morning, and will provide lunch if you have to stay and actually serve. The judge was professional and efficient. What's bothersome is that one of the courtrooms smells like pee. And I don't mean a faint whiff, but a full blown pee smell. When I came back to serve and had to go to a different courtroom, I smelled it again. So it appears it's the entire third floor.

Called to end service at an apartment and a home and start service at a new rental June 2024 and…read morethey only transferred service and never stopped apartment or home. Few months after initial call I called and again requested end service at apartment and home, and they ended service at home but I later found out not at the apartment. After my call in June 2024, I start to get two emails each month: one stating it was a new bill for the apartment and that the amount due is "0.00", the other saying the recurring payment is "Aborted" and "has been stopped" for the apartment account. In April 2025 I changed the automatic payment for my bill (for the new rental) and then realized that they were still billing me for the apartment I hadn't lived in for 9 months because I was now getting automated withdrawals from two checking accounts. I called City of Richmond and they said they had no record of me asking at my last two calls (which were documented) that I needed to cancel service at the apartment (which was one of main reasons I called them twice before). City of Richmond further ignored the fact that I've been getting monthly emails from them since July 2024 about the apartment account stating that 0.00 was being billed and that my auto payment was being aborted. They told me they would not reimburse me anything (blaming me for not canceling service even though called them twice to do so) and said to ask the apartment complex to see if they will cover the inappropriate billing statements since my lease ended (August 2024). This is an absurd request since this was City of Richmond's issue all along and an apartment company is not going to pay me for the erroneously charged utility bills. If you look at all the reviews posted it is clear I'm not along in being screwed by City of Richmond Utilities. Sucks there is nowhere to go for help and no other utility company to choose from. Probably why they are so bad as there is nothing the average consumer can do to challenge their horrible customer service.

We attended a Candlelight Concert featuring a quartet of strings performing Vivaldi's "The Four…read moreSeasons" at Bolling Haxall House in Richmond. This beautiful concert was just over one hour long, and it was a real treat! The foyer and concert hall were lit with about 2,000 candles. The sound was crisp and clear. Tickets are sold by section, with Section A being the closest rows to the stage. We lucked out with front row seats. While they performed classical music tonight, we learned they also perform renditions of music by contemporary artists as well. We highly recommend!
