I was in Century City and needed a post office. This was the nearest one 11min away so I went. I saw the reviews were not the best, but how bad could it be :-/. Metered Parking on street was packed so I parked around the corner in the public parking lot. I walk in to the post office next to the grocery store and handyman store and the line was looong with only one person helping. I was about to leave and go elsewhere but then I thought to use the self service machine with scale. I went looking and unfortunately this is a very small post office that looks to be going through redecorating and they don't have it. So had to wait in the line but people got frustrated with the wait and left so I was closer. It was about 10-15 minutes to get in and out. The cashier was nice, but I probably will never come back here because of the wait and lack of supplies. read more

REPEATEDLY CLOSED DURING BUSINESS HRS!! 1 PERSON STAFF FOR POST OFFICE -UNACCEPTABLE!! This is the third time I've come to this location during business hours only to find the gates down. Thursday, I arrived at 3pm -- hours before their posted 5:30pm closing -- and the gates were shut with just a handwritten "will be back" sign, no time given. Within 20 minutes, 11 people were standing outside waiting, some of us for 40+ minutes total. We could hear voices behind the gate the whole time. It seems like there's only one employee running this entire location, which isn't fair to her either -- she has to close the whole place to take a break or use the restroom, since there's no one to cover for her. She's always very pleasant and a joy to work with. But that's a staffing failure, not something customers should have to absorb. While waiting, one woman on the phone with USPS was upset they gave her 30+ yr mailbox away without her knowledge, despite paying for a box. An elderly woman who could barely stand, let alone walk, standing in the sun for 20+ mins, asking for a change-of-address form . Employee standing behind the gate and profusely saying it's closed. Mind boggling. I ended up having to slide a package through a gap in the gate and leave it on the floor since there was no other way to enter to drop off shipment. 3rd world countries have a better mail system. The inside of the location is consistently out of basic supplies -- forms, pens, etc. Three strikes during business hours is not a one-off. Photos and videos available. read more

This USPS office is located near a city parking lot that offers free 1 hour parking. Easy to go in and out and parking is easily available. Post office is also surrounded by meter parking. There are a few issues I find with this location but it has nothing to do with the staff themselves but more so management. Whether it is the economy, lack of employees, (I don't know) but this post office closes during their break/lunch and it varies each day depending on how busy they are. A little consistency would be appreciated so that people know when to go. I usually try and go there early in the morning or late so I don't get stuck waiting outside for them to open again. But I repeat as I see so many below upset at the employees, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM BUT WITH THE HIGHER UPS. If they only have one staff member working, by law that person is required a break and a lunch. I understand it may be inconvenient to you but your ire should be directed accordinagly at the management for understaffing and not the staff themselves. Regarding some of the messages about service, I've never had a bad experience. I have been present in long line with people getting upset at the service and I have been present with no lines. I will say this, it is so easy now to ship and send packages. Every website for your returns provides instructions, they even allow you to bring the barcode in so that post office can scan and print label for you. People complain when they come in with boxes or the poly mailer envelopes unsealed and they are told they need to purchase tape so they can secure their items in order to send. Can you imagine each person needing to use their material to properly ship their package? Things cost money. You need to understand this is a business. They have tape and envelopes their to make it convenient for you. Lines can be smooth if the customers have everything in order. The lines of course delay when people are unprepared. Even in my moments of uncertainty when I have a question about my package, I am helped when I ask and I take it upon myself to step to the side to allow next person to go as I situate my package for delivery. I have never felt the ladies at the front to be rude but can def see the high demand being so understaffed while taking attitude from customers. read more

Went to the post office to buy 2 international stamps for some thank you notes. Online it says they are open from 9am-5pm. Upon arrival at 11:15am, a worker who was there slammed the door in my face and locked it, stating she was going on a break and wouldn't tell me when she was going to come back. They were out of labels and I was given a piece of scrap paper to put the address on. Already, I'm confused, but I go along with it. When I hand off the package with the scrap paper to the worker, she says "What's this? Why isn't it taped to the package?", obviously it's not taped because it's a piece of scrap paper you gave me. I'm at a loss for words and totally confused so I say "Uhh" and she immediately snaps at me and says "UHH" in a mocking tone. Granted, I've done everything correctly up to this point, there is absolutely no reason for her behavior. When I ask to review the address after she inputs it into the computer she says "Why? You don't trust me?". Totally unacceptable. Who even says that? This is the same lady the reviewer 'Karyn K.' is talking about and posted photos of, I'm not sure her name because she doesn't wear a name tag. Worst customer service lady I ever had! I was asking questions on how to go about forwarding my mail again because I had switched units and wasn't sure how to go about that since I had just forwarded my mail from out-of-state. I can see why this location has 1.5 stars. I had 3 different packages- one with a QR code, I had my other items in packages, but when she told me I couldn't use the second box, I switched it into another bag and she proceeded to tell me how I wasn't prepared and I looked at her and said I just needed confirmation from her... I went to look for the address to give to her, she was on her own phone so I waited until she was done. Then she looked up at me as if I hadn't been standing there waiting on her. She proceeds to tell me if I wasn't ready I should come back when I am so other ppl in line can be helped. "You were in your personal cellphone so I was waiting for you to finish." That's what I said to her, calmly. I couldn't find the white tag she wanted me to purchase for my 2nd shipment, and when I asked her again, calmly- she started yelling at me across the room like I didn't understand English. I went back and forth on whether or not to leave a review and have decided to do so. Yesterday July 1st I left in tears around 4:50 pm after how rude both ladies at the front desk were. I have never sent anything certified mail before which may seem like an easy task for some, but for me I wanted to make sure I was filling out the forms correctly. I was sent back in line three times after talking with both reps at the desk. I was yelled at, ridiculed, insulted just for asking for help on how to do the form. I never once showed attitude despite how I was being treated. One rep sitting even responded to me "that's not how we do it in Beverly Hills" when I asked if she could help me fill out the form. A task that would taken them maybe 10 seconds to explain. I have looked through reviews here and see numerous complaints about the same reps I am talking about here. You know exactly who you are. Leilani is always very friendly and helpful when I visit this location. I come prepared, ready to go with my packages which is helpful as this location is understaffed. Is the line sometimes long? Yes. Is it Leilani's fault? No. If people were more prepared and had their items ready to go, the flow would move much better. Argh. The lines here can get very long. There's not enough staff to cover demand. They don't have a scale at all. The new lady who works there told me I'd have to wait in a long line just to weigh my package so I left. (I was purchasing my postage online and just needed a scale). I arrived on a miserable rainy day, mid-day; was able to find a parking meter right in front, so I got inside quickly to find only two other people ahead of me. I had seen the many bad reviews on Yelp when I was looking for a post office along my route. I am writing this because my experience was completely the opposite. As I waited, I observed the lady behind the window assisting an obviously regular customer who seemed to be facing some challenges completing his transaction. She was cheerful, professional and clearly knowledgeable because I heard him thanking her profusely when he left. When my turn came, I was greeted with the same big smile and helpful attitude. She got me some mailing supplies that I needed, then helped me seal the package and apply the pre-printed Express Mail label I had brought. She even reached over and removed the couple bits of adhesive backing that I had, offering to put them in the trash. I'm sorry now that I didn't get her name or snap a photo for this review. I am left with the impression that either this worker was only temporarily assigned to this location for the day or the many negative reviews are from very miserable people with very small lives who are projecting their grim outlook onto postal employees. I work in Beverly Hills and use this location frequently as does the company I work for. Personally and professionally I do a large volume of international shipping. I've spent a great deal of time in line watching extremely ignorant people try to tell the postal workers how to do their job and be dissatisfied when they don't get their way. Often times it's great entertainment:) But sometimes the abuse the ladies have to endure is quite appalling. It never ceases to amaze me how when people have a problem with the USPS they feel it is somehow their right to take it out on the people who work there. This in fact, is what is not acceptable. The people at the windows are professional and patient as well as courteous. They know what they are doing. Don't listen to the 1 and 2 star reviews. If people wanted to complain about something legitimate they could complain about this location being understaffed. But they don't do that. They just complain that the line is too long. I have been in an industry that relies on the USPS to send packages securely for over 40 years. I have seen some bad locations in that time. This is not one of them. Again, DO NOT LISTEN TO THE 1 & 2 STAR REVIEWS. After posting my review I decided to check something about the other reviews. Not one person ever checked in on Yelp except me. Personally I have 8 check-ins here. I haven't checked in for a long time because checking in at the post office is well... a little sad (or boring). My point is that these other reviews aren't written by serious Yelpers. They're by disgruntled USPS customers who were probably having a bad day. There are only 39 reviews for this location. One of them being mine. That means that since 2010 (when the first review was posted) there have been only 38 people who were compelled to write something nasty about this post office. A tiny number considering how many customers use this location. Compare that with the 155 reviews (1.5 stars) for the Culver City location on Jefferson. Now that's a bad post office. I use it from time to time. But I've never been moved to write a bad review for it. Please consider that sometimes it's the people writing the reviews that are the problem. They work so hard at this location and are so warm and friendly. I wish USPS would provide more support for them so they can stay open during lunch hours and the lines would not get so long. Staff is 5 Star but USPS in general needs to accommodate their physical needs so that they don't carry the burden due to short staffing issues. THIS IS THE WORST POST OFFICE. Talk about PAINFUL. My office is nearby, so this is the post office I usually go to, but it is agonizing no matter how long the wait is. Even if there is only one person ahead of me in line, it's always at least 20-30 minutes, and I rarely see more than one woman working. Their supplies are low, and they don't post any signs to let you know if they're sold out of money orders or other items. The cashier moves at a glacial pace--I have no idea why they don't have more people ever working. Almost every time I'm there, I see people get out of line because it's a ridiculous wait. There is no reason it should take as long as it does, only go here if you're desperate. read more

I went to go write a review about this slow depressing place, but apparently I should have read yelp first. It seems that I share the same frustrated opinions as the rest of our city. Absolutely horrible. 1 employee and 12 people in line. Plus about 1 person every 5 minutes just leaves the line and walks out. It's seems like the requirement for post office employees is to be entirely unhelpful, have a lack of efficiency and to be rude and this post office does not disappoint. They are unorganized and slow. Often times you go up to desk after waiting in line only to be told you need to change something and then have to re-wait in line. I would like to give them ZERO stars if it was an option. From the time I walked in to the time I walked out I had to deal with the attitude of the employee. She was NOT helpful at all and had the worst attitude. I was looking to ship a medium size box, which I couldn't find below the display. I asked her for help and she just said "it's there! I just put them out." I asked her to help me find it since I obviously was missing it. She refused to get out from behind the counter instead electing to shout directions and I looked box by box. I could not find a medium box, so just went with the large, costing more money. Once I got everything into the box, I told her it could have definitely fit into a smaller box, which she responded "they're there, you just didn't look hard enough" Um . . . gee thanks! FOR NOTHING!!!! While I was there another lady was sending an envelope and asked if there was tape available to help seal it, the employee said "yeah, we have tape for sale." Really??? You can't have tape available for customers to use??? I hope I NEVER have to go back to this place and I made sure the USPS knows it! read more

Absolutely the worst post office I have ever been to. You're lucky to find two people working behind the desk, most of times it's just one. They do not provide tape, nor do they do not provide scissors, I was lucky one time, instead of having scissors she let me borrow a dull knife, yes the post office gave me a dull knife from behind the desk. It was at that moment when she handed me a knife, and I had it in hand, that I thought to myself what the hell?! I could be in big trouble holding a knife at a post office. I looked up and smiled a grin at the camera. They do not have extra shrink wrap - you have to buy an entire roll. Plus they even rejected a package of mine because it was FedEx. I am not sure a post office is ever really a very exciting place to go but the other reviews are so right! Multiple times I have come in to send something quick and easy and it has taken forever. The poor lady ( whom other yelpers have posted a photo of) really does take a long time. With the meters in the front being times I get anxiety standing there with my little package or special letter. I wish this location would have more people on the clock just to save the sanity ( and chance of getting a parking ticket with patrons parked at meters) . Do yourself a favor if you have to come to this location and have everything ready so you can just drop off! or, sad to say, find another convenient location. I feel for the lady who is so slow but the other reviews also have valid points. This location needs some love from corporate. read more
