FedEx Ship Center - World's worst common carrier

    FedEx Ship Center

FedEx is the world's slowest, laziest, nastiest, evilest, most corrupt common carrier on Earth…read more On multiple occasions, deliverymen from this location did not even bother to knock on my door, they just left a note that pretended that they did. Someone at my house waited by the door all day waiting for a knock, to no avail. There are even multiple signs on the door that say "Bang hard on door". FedEx's lazy, overpaid union bums make mailmen seem like hard workers. My packages instead end up at a pharmacy. What does a pharmacy have to do with FedEx? FedEx refuses to attempt delivery again, so I am forced to wait one business day for the pharmacy to reopen, which can translate to four calendar days counting a holiday. So much for the "overnight delivery" for which I had paid $110. Someone could have walked it here faster. Literally. After a 30 minute drive to the pharmacy through big city traffic jams, I have to wait in line for an additional 45 minutes just to retrieve my parcel being stored on an open shelf where anyone walking by could steal it. There is ZERO security for my $12,000 packages. I had to endure all of this aggravation just so the FedEx drivers did not have to spend an extra two minutes making an actual delivery. If you plan to use FedEx, do not be surprised if you end up spending several frustrating hours trying to retrieve your shipment. At a zero-security pharmacy, no less. I always tell senders to use USPS but a few ignore my request and instead use lowly FedEx. FedEx used to be extremely reliable but unions have destroyed them. Their employees are now entitled, de facto welfare recipients. I would only recommend FedEx to Osama bin Laden and my mother-in-law.

Fed Ex sucks! Packages are delivered as scheduled, and when you call for assistance, all they say…read moreis your package has been delayed and you need to contact your shipper to have the package tracked and they have to fix the problem with Fed Ex. I don't understand this, the tracking information clearly shows that Fed Ex has the package, and it has made it to the local distribution center, but it stalled there. This is just unacceptable. Now, because this has occurred on the weekend, I can't contact the shipper until Monday, so the soonest I will get my delivery is maybe by Tuesday. This is just total bull! UPS is much better in all aspects!

Bigger guy at the counter is a complete A-hole. Used to come here regularly to drop off packages…read morefor my small business, and was never given a problem as I packed my own parcel & provided my own labels. Never needed assistance until today, as the box that I came with wouldn't be large enough to fulfill all contents & required a shipping label. I came in with an already packed box, along with other items I was hoping to purchase a mailer for. My mom came with me, as I'd need help carrying items in the store. We had a few questions regarding the shipment, including insurance for the package.. We never got an answer to any of the questions, just a blank stare. Instead of giving me the mailer as requested, this man began cutting my box open, I assume, to put both packages together in a larger box. He didn't say a word, ask for permission to open it, or even let me know what he would be doing with it. My mom asked that he be careful while slicing through the tape to avoid damaging any of the contents inside. This man immediately began making condescending comments towards my mom, and asking "is this your package or hers?" in a strange tone, as if she didn't have a right to ask questions. He did end up grabbing a bigger box from the back and started loading everything inside. We wanted to be sure that all of the contents were included in the box, as I had a bunch of small stickers inside that would keep falling out. Not only that, but we wanted to be sure that the package was secure, as the "new" box had previously been taped and cut open. Some more comments to my mom: "are you an overbearing parent?" & "please do not touch the package," after my mom tried making sure the box was secure, and mocking her whenever she laughed uncomfortably. The last straw for this man, I guess, was when my mom reached for my package (that was sitting on the counter in front of us - not in his hands) in attempt to add more tape from a roll that we brought with us. He picked up the box to slam it on the counter, told her to take it, then told us to leave. I wish I could've given this place a good review as it was a convenient solution to fulfilling my orders, but realistically, this place doesn't care about you or your shipments. Staff is not friendly or helpful, and in my opinion, is only in business to make a quick profit. This place is a bit unorganized & very time consuming if you are looking for any kind of assistance, or planning on using them as a label and/or mailer provider. Only good as a dropoff location in my experience, and a lot easier to get the job done without actually speaking to the employees. They don't want to help you.

I waited two months to review this company because I needed some time to get over how much my…read moremoving process sucked with them. First of all, Matt was great at scheduling, giving an estimate, and answering questions. But since he didn't have anything to do with the actual moving process...I can't really say it mattered. I moved from a one bedroom in west philly to a center city apartment- pretty simple. The guys showed up late ~ 20 minutes late. I met them in the parking lot of my building because they couldnt figure out how to park their MASSIVE moving truck on their own. I came down and they were smoking cigarettes next to their graffiti covered vehicle. It took them at least another 15 minutes to actually park and come up to my apartment...where they realized they forgot the dolly. So they went back to their truck and couldn't find it...because they forgot it. So now we are about 45 minutes past my start time and they begin moving things... My mom and I actually helped them bring boxes to the elevator to bring down because we were already so far behind schedule. The process would have been so much faster if they had not forgotten a dolly, and I would not have felt like I had to help because I was paying for them to carry one box at a time down my hallway. Matt had told me that the crew would be able to give me a ride to the new apartment, and when I asked them they laughed and said "ummm there isn't much room but if you don't mind smoking then fine" I hate smoking...so I got a cab. When I got to my new apartment they arrived more than 20 minutes after me...smoking again. I had asked Matt if I needed to get them a parking permit for my new street because I knew my location was zoned- he said no it was fine. Then of course the crew got a parking ticket and whined about that while they moved my stuff into the new apartment. They chipped the side of my dining room table and snapped the hanging wire on the back of a large piece of wall art. Nothing else was damaged. The whole day sucked. They were unprofessional and unprepared. I really don't enjoy paying people by the hour to smoke cigarettes. I called Matt towards the end of the process to let him know that I was displeased with the service, especially forgetting the dolly since I knew it added a lot of time to my move and required my mom and I to help. He tried to make things better by knocking a little bit off of my bill. But all in all the whole thing was terrible. I would NEVER use skybox again.

The movers were due to come at 3:00pm on Sunday. They called around 2:30pm to say that they were running late, approximately 15-20 minutes late. They eventually came at 4:00pm because there were tons of traffic. I was okay with it because they were straightforward and honest about it. Once they got here, they started moving the furniture that needed to be packed. My friend had an insane amount of furniture, that includes 2 beds, 3 couches, and 918273 drawers. (Okay not really but it felt like that). They were quick, professional, and efficient the whole time. Since they were working hard, and McDonald's was across the street, I grabbed them food and we took a break after loading all the furniture (I know I know, fast food is bad for you but it was across the street!). Once at the new place, I swear they performed a miracle or something. It was an enclosed staircase onto the second floor and whoever built the opening were not thinking straight because it was so damn small. The couches took forever to come up the stairs, and once it did, it took forever to get through the front door. For the third couch, they literally hoisted up over the railings in the front! I was amazed... and scared! They got everything in, the beds, couches, and 918273 drawers set to where we asked them to. They were very nice, very polite. Definitely did a solid job. I'm SO glad that my friend chose them to be his moving company because they definitely did not charge as much as other companies have quoted. But they still did just as good of a job, if not better, than those other companies would. If I had to move, definitely will call these guys! Shout out to Joe's crew !! Oh, and yes the polite thing to do is to tip your movers, don't forget. They work very hard.
