I didn't intend to leave another review. But it seems the tips/check-in feature doesn't work the way it used to. I have a Post Office box at this location and it can be convenient when the hours are actually operating as listed. I'm mostly come here on the weekends and the late afternoon. And it hasn't been a problem up until now. I got there at 5 PM on Sunday and they were closed. Usually this location is open at least until about 10 PM. But I don't know what's going on.It's the main Post Office. Service here is definitely a hit or miss.... some agents are nice. Some people are not. Sometime ls your mail is in your box, sometime, i's not. Hopefully gets better.

I like this location because of the late hours, I don't know any other location open past 5pm. That being said, the line is always always always long as hell. Luckily, the staff members are usually friendly so that makes it better. Other than that, it's a post office so you get what you get.

Today was a day that involved going on a joyride regarding postal service. USPS rarely fails to provide a seamless experience: rather, it is often aggravating. After walking this far up to the post office lugging the merchandise I needed to send, I finally arrived at the window. The wait was slow and painful. They had some markers on the floor for social distancing. I already helped myself to the free priority box and had the self addressed label. All I needed was to drop it off at the window. Alas, not here. The employee behind the window would not give me a self adhesive pouch to slip my label on the box. Instead, he suggested to buy a roll of tape for $5. Oh really? Had I known, i would have brought my own. I wasn't looking to buy my 4th roll of tape that I rarely use. In addition, I couldn't even borrow some tape. Bah Humbug. Out of principle, I left and saw the massive line waiting for service. Good luck. I try to avoid visits to the post office. Most are useless.

Great service at this location. There were two staffers helping expedites services for customers. On walked the line to ask what the customers needed. Another was next to the self service machine.

It is very accessible via MTA NYC Transit A, C, D, E, and F trains at West 4th Street. This station is Patchin Place, is a gated cul-de-sac. Customer service is attentive, efficient and helpful with my transaction for one postal money order. I did not have any issues. This station is somewhat small for retail space, but it gets the job done for the purpose of my visit. This station is open on Saturdays which is very beneficial to my schedule and needs. I am utterly appalled by the treatment I received at the West Village Post Office - 70 West 10th Street and hope proper action is taken for these employees involved. On 3/19, I was waiting outside of the post office as it was not open yet. Several workers impolitely asked me to move over or "get out of the way" so they can enter the building. They promptly locked the door behind them. When a different worker was exiting the building to bring out a cart, she did not lock the door behind her. She did not say anything to me, so I thought - I will wait in the lobby, not inside the post office, as it is 30 degrees outside and it is 9:20AM and the post office opens at 9:30AM. Well, I was wrong. Rather than politely saying excuse me ma'am, we are not open yet, the worker outside with the cart SCREAMED at the top of her lungs to "GET OUT". I asked her why she felt compelled to yell and me and that is not the appropriate way to speak to a customer. She did continued to yell at me so much that a man in a car nearby told me I was right and the post office worker was RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. There was absolutely no attempt to communicate politely or explain the situation calmly. No customer, regardless of the circumstance, should ever be subjected to such aggressive and demeaning behavior, especially from representatives of a public service institution. This experience has not only left me feeling mistreated but also deeply concerned about the professional standards and customer service training at the West Village Post Office - 70 West 10th Street. It's clear that a serious review of staff conduct and customer interaction protocols is urgently needed to ensure that no one else has to endure such an unwarranted and humiliating situation. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, not met with hostility for minor misunderstandings or mistakes.

It was quite alarming. Having read about the uncertain fate of this post office, this adds more feeling of doom and chaos to the possible end of an era.

So maybe I'll receive the card (which I sent away for in December and this is the 5th time they sent it out) or maybe never. At least one of the times the card was intercepted (by postal workers?) and charges were run up. So maybe I'll get the card or maybe my time will continue to be wasted. I filed a fraud report on the USPS website. No update on an investigation. At this point, is it just a racket??

She had about 5-6 people on line. When I walked in she had already stopped the line before a lady, making us three wait. Thank God for good people who were in front of them that they were able to help them. My service was clicking the qr code and giving me a receipt, So it wasn't as easy for them to help me although they felt bad. As a Female we know that if you have to go use the bathroom okay no problem but she said " no this was her break, and wasn't taking nobody else till she came back." How does one clock in and immediately take a break?! This post office either needs to hire more people or have a good long meeting with her about that. As Im standing here people are coming before work, from far, or just because they need one simple thing and have to walk out flabbergasted that she just clocked in and is already on break - is absurd. Frustrated I told her her that I was going to report her because this shouldn't be right. She had her name tag on before she went on break. As i'm standing there I was like " you know what, I dont feel like my package would be safe in her hands so I will proceed to wait and take her name when she comes back and go elsewhere. When she comes back she had taken off her name tag. Kindly asked her for her name 2 times and she ignored me. I then got frustrated and ended up taking a picture. Not sure what type of service this post office is running but honestly I do Not recommend this post office at all as long as she's there. 1 star because that's all i can do but 0 for her customer service and support.

On this day she was wearing a white beret covered with hearts. When I walked in, there were two employees behind the counter. One was helping a customer. The other was Heart-Hat, who sat there scrolling on her phone and ignoring the customers standing in line. This went on for several minutes. I figured Heart-Hat was on break and the working employee would be helping me soon. So I took out my phone to check my email. Well, at some point Heart-Hat must have decided to get back to work. I looked up and she was snarling at me in a low voice: "I called you." I said, "Oh! I didn't hear you." Which I hadn't--I'm a senior with a hearing disability. She said to me in a nasty voice: "That's because you were on your phone." I reminded her that she'd been on *her* phone for a long time. Well, that really set her off. She started ranting and when I asked if she had Christmas stamps, she yelled "No!" At that point I moved to the next window to escape her anger. The friendly worker there showed me the many holiday stamps they indeed had, and also explained how I could buy other designs at the lobby kiosk. I confided to the friendly one, "You know, I've signed petitions in the past to save this post office." Heart-Hat shouted over at us: "Nobody cares!" This post office does still have helpful and kind employees. Just avoid the one with the big eyeglasses. She hates people and hates her job.
