A bit crowded, no social distancing, but the staff was very efficient and fast!

Horrendous Package Delivery Service. I am sick and tired of this postal center. They are constantly late in package delivery. This last time I had several small boxes being delivered. I stayed home for the delivery and they never came. Even worse, they flagged the items so that I would have to go and pick them up. When I got to the post office they said they couldn't find them and that they were probably out for delivery on the truck. Six days later the packages arrived. No more. read more

The ladies working at this office always treat me with kindness and respect. If you have ever been to a usps office before, you what to expect. As they say, " it is what it is". (If you can afford DHL or Fedex, go for it.) I've always received great service here. I would highly recommend going at a non-peak hour, ie. Don't go 15 minutes before closing on a Saturday and expect anything less than a cluster. However, even on saturday they had a woman working the floor and she ensured that I had the appropriate packaging and a pen to use. Also, Manners and courtesy go a long way to getting good service. Pay it forward. This is the "county of Kings"but, don't come in here with a terrible attitude expecting to be treated like a King. read more

One of the WORST post offices ever! Not that any others in Brooklyn are that much better. The place is so run down, lacking in supplies, and dirty. LONG LINES always most times of the day. Today waited 1/2 hour with about at least 10 people behind me and six people in front of me and two people working the windows. WTF?! The manager should've been up front working the window to get the line moving. Or...how about hiring some more postal workers...And to top it off...the employees here are sooooo courteous, greeting you, and pleasantly helping you once you get up there...that is Sarcasm in case you missed it... read more

I was on my way to the post office today Sunday 2/7/18. They close at 1 pm. I was running to the post office and got there at 12:56 pm and they had the doors locked already. I found this to be outrageous being that a company this big would not follow their schedule. Regardless of anything if you're schedule says open till 1 pm than 1 pm is when you lock the doors. The employee who's name was "E" was trying to tell me their closed clearly I showed her the time and she say's my supervisor said we are closed. She was extremely rude and had an attitude problem. I'm surprised usps would hire people with disgusting attitude and that clearly hate their job I was just in total shock I couldn't believe it. This was the first time I had an excellent experience at post office. Unfortunately some of it was attributed to the virus. I flew in and out of the Fort Hamilton branch cause only one person ahead of me and there two postal workers. The postal worker who helped me named Tommy was extremely polite and helpful...and my regular mail packages got to their destination in one day! Now that's what I call service! Thank you! read more

The worst! Waited in the package line for over 30 minutes to pick up certified mail from my landlord. No one ahead of me, and there was easily 10 employees behind the counter chatting. read more

Spoke and made a written complaint to the Supervisor of Customer Service, Vivian Lee, about this issue and she took no accountability for herself or those under her, and instead made excuses for them and their incompetence. She told me "And remember, there is always Fedex and UPS as carriers if you want to complain." Basically telling me if I have a problem with them not doing their jobs, I can go elsewhere! And she also told me "the postal men told me you barely get packages anyway" when I get packages all the time. Yet it does not matter if I get them once a year, or 3 times a week, the issue is you are not delivering packages I pay to be sent to my home when it shouldn't be a problem! When I told her I would complain about her unprofessionalism, she said with mock sincerity, "SORRRRRRYYYYY, BYYEEE!" and hung up on me. Disgusting. ---------------------------------------- Delivery person does not EVER ring doorbell outside my apartment building for my packages, barely leaves pink slips, and confirms packages delivered when they are not!! They don't know where your mail is, and they don't care. Routine events include: 1. Receiving a notice on your phone that you are not home and your package cannot be delivered, when you have been working next to your open front door all day. 2. Not returning packages to the office so that they can be picked up, just driving around with them for days on end. 3. Putting customers on hold and not acknowledging the call or query ever happened. 4. Refusing to deliver mail because they do not like the way your mailbox is labeled. If this post office is your best option for receiving a package, you probably should just go without the item. read more

I haven't had to deal with many other post offices, but that said I don't need to have dealt with many to know this location is terrible. 1. the service is always incredibly slow, even when it's completely empty. 2. there's always nowhere to park, and if you try to leave your car unattended you will get a ticket from a hiding ticket maid. you can stand outside and watch all day as cars get ticketed, it's pretty amazing. 3. They have not ONCE delivered a package to my apartment, they always leave pink slips, and sometimes even forget that, too. As in, the doorbell has never been attempted to be rung. And then you have to drive to pick it up and wait over an hour in line to pick it up. Why do they get away with it? Because they can. Luckily, I live in LI now and it's a completely different story out here. read more

The worst delivery service, EVER!! I am a Prime Amazon member and pay for 2nd day delivery. I have begged Amazon to use a different carrier than the USPS, b/c I wind up calling Amazon to file a complaint about an undelivered package. Like others, I have experienced the text with unable to deliver, notice left, blah, blah, blah, when I have been home all day and no delivery was ever attempted, nor was any notice left. I even had a text stating the USPS was "unable to access the building...delivery notice left". Are they kidding me? This happens repeatedly and no one seems to care to do a better job. I am even losing faith with Amazon in their ability to rectify this situation. I pay for a membership for 2nd day delivery and yet, a carrier is consistently selected who does not fulfill Amazon's promise, or their contract with me, to get me my deliveries on time. I don't know if this place even deserves one star. So far, they have managed to not deliver 5 packages to me in the span of a month and not leave attempted delivery messages- meaning I can't get my stuff. The lobby never has enough shipping materials and on Saturday, they didn't even have packing tape. The staff there actually turned away customers who had been waiting for an upwards of 30 minutes and told them to walk down to Staples- which was not open at that hour. This post office is ridiculous! The package driver, who is supposed to drop off packages at your door, rang my door, I buzzed him in and actually spoke to him to ask if the door opened. He never knocked on my door, instead 20 minutes later I go to my mailbox and there is an orange slip to come and pick up my package on Monday, because it's now Saturday. How lazy is this man? Why wouldn't he knock on my door. He knew I was home. Every other package delivery person, USPS or other service, takes the packages to the door. Unorganized. Rude. Liars. I have been waiting for my package from amazon for the longest time. Drivers claim to have delivered it. Package NOWHERE to be found. According to the time on yelp it closes in 10 minutes...i'm here 15 min before closing and they're all locked up. Unreal!

These idiots never even left a notice that my item was delivered, and when I called 300 times no one picked up.

Nothing will allow you to understand the failure of government better than this institution. I no longer even expect packages to even attempt to be delivered, rather, i spend the entire delivery time frantically checking the tracking status on their nifty website so that I know when I "miss" the delivery to go pick it up. When I say "miss" the delivery, what I am actually saying is, being present at my business, which is clearly open at 2:21PM. Apparently the steady flow of customers in and out is not a good indicator that the business is open, perhaps I should be more forgiving on the daily trials and tribulations of a mail carrier, I guess that looming pension, and apparently infinite job security can be a little too stressful. On the plus side, now that I have learned to work with my local post office and know not to bother to expect a delivery, I just have to figure out the system of after I miss my delivery, when it comes back to the post office so I can get it. I enjoy giving these fine people my tax dollars, as should you. After all, we apparently are also employed by the post office. It's our job to go attempt to hunt down mail that we usually paid shipping to have delivered, I just wish someone would have given me one of those cool safari hats. read more

People keep complaining packages don't get delivered to them, or that attempts aren't actually made and just slips are put up. More often than not I get my packages when I am at home so I haven't experienced the phony "we tried" thing too much. HOWEVER, on two separate occasions in the past two months, I had important mail (driver's license, NYC ID card) returned to sender as undeliverable! Why? Who the F knows why. I called up both government agencies to have them resend and the address was right the first time. So this place rejects delivering envelopes for some reason. Worst post office ever. read more

Horrible, horrible service...they NEVER answer the phone...but rather pick up and hang up, its not because they are so busy, just so lazy. Mail truck delivers at 8pm (supposedly) so he doesn't have to deliver but bring all packages back to the Post office. How many years, and how many rotating supervisors and carriers can continue to lose my mail, and put an "attempted delivery" slip without actually trying to deliver it? Last week, the "supervisor of 8 months," Mr. Mohammed told me that this is the first time he's heard about my complaints of not receiving packages. He said he would fix the problem and get the package delivered. I called today and the agent who answered the phone said, "the carrier refused to deliver your package because you don't live there anymore." Use.Less. While an employee or two are super to work with, the operations are pitiful. Gotta love how they hide behind double glass windows and one way mirrors, hesitating to come out to talk and help people resolve issues. Came to pick up a package that wouldn't be delivered, because I wasn't home to sign for it the first time and they wouldn't reattempt delivery. I dealt with a Russian woman who had a short blonde bob haircut and my god, was she rude and disrespectful. When she came to the window, I said I was picking up and I was told to bring my ID, and tracking number and she acted like she had no idea what I said and instead asked for my address and I told her. When she returned she yelled asking me if I had a tracking number, and I said yes, to which she replied "WELL WHY DIDNT YOU SAY THAT BEFORE". I did, as I mentioned it was the first thing I said. She was just not listening. Not in a mood to argue I told her the tracking number. About 10 minutes later she comes back with my package and puts it in the window, and I have to lift my side of the window to get it out, shes just staring at me angrily, so I try to open the window and it's locked and she yells at me "DONT DO THAT. DONT TRY TO OPEN IT OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT WORK WHEN I UNLOCK IT" how was I supposed to know that? When she put the package in the closed window she just stood there and stared at me like she wanted to fist fight me just for existing. She didn't try to unlock my side until I tried to open it. She just WANTED someone to yell at. Unfortunately, it did not make her feel better because I did not feed into her demon energy. Anyway, I'm writing this review because I saw another review about her and she seems ungrateful to have the job she does and during this time, while so many of us are jobless, I'm sure there are plenty of other people who would be grateful to have it, and would perform with a much more pleasant demeanor. read more

Why is it impossible to have mail delivered? Whenever I am expecting a package, I can expect to spend days calling back and forth to merchant and USPS because they say the package has been delivered but it's nowhere to be found. Without fail. Especially with fedex smartpost! So I call fedex who says call USPS and they say someone from the post office will contact me. They never know where the package is. Their only advice is to go searching in the bushes nearby or ask my neighbors. Why?? Then eventually we chalk it up to a lost cause and then I have to arrange for a refund from the merchant. I had to wait over half an hour to pickup my package. I was first in line. I politely asked the lady working for an update, twice. She just told me they're looking for it, without any explanation or so much a glance my way. Eventually, I found out from someone else working there that the employee who did delivery on the previous night didn't bother to sort through the packages before they left. Customer service is pretty rude, I ask for your address you should give it to me pleasantly! The wait lines are long and no one cares to help. The tape dispensers are sitting there empty, learned my mistake there...tape your packages at home! It's also pretty old and dirty. Several years ago, I went through all the package delivery problems others outline here. Additionally my mail carrier stopped delivering magazines and Netflix to our building because she said our mailboxes were too small, though the previous mail carrier had fit them in. My complaints to the post office made no headway, so I finally gave up and rented a mailbox at UPS. It costs money and I have to go there to get my stuff, but at least they don't lose my packages. No more long waiting lines. I am sorry to see this post office is still so dysfunctional because I'd love to be able to use them instead of paying for a private solution, but if you are stuck in 11209, you are better off paying a mail service than using this post office. read more

Lost 3 of my packages and claims it was delivered. Supervisor disrespectful. Packages were placed behind my building door with a non existent "red" door knob. Unhelpful and very hard to even get through to the office. Carriers very negligent with packages. read more

The mail clerks do not deliver packages to my building -- in fact, I have seen them put the "pick-up" notices which indicate several delivery attempts without having the package in their cart. When I complained to the manager she dismissed it with "you must not have been home when the mailman rang the bell". I told her that I am home with my small children, and I have not had a package delivered in over two years, just the "we've missed you" notices. I believe the manager is well aware of this practice and is covering up for her staff. read more

I hate to write negatively about my local post office for fear of it closing down, but this place needs help. Recently, their credit card machines, and their manual, automated stations were all down. (FOR at least 2 DAYS!) They are woefully understaffed, and I've never seen more than 3 people working the windows, even at the busiest times. Their pickup window is like a black hole, when I get one of those little pink cards in my box. One of their 2 front doors is permanently locked, all the time. Why?. There a lot of things that need to be fixed here, and I've only seen it get worse over the past few years. I went to a comparable location in the city and it was the exact opposite. How can the level of quality vary that much over the same organization? I'm giving it 2 stars because I have received help and encountered pleasant people, for the most part, but something needs to change here. read more

If I could rate less than a zero, I would. This post office is the absolute worst when it comes to efficiency and customer service.. very often I don't even receive mail to my home for 2 or 3 days and then my mailbox is stuffed to capacity on the 4th day. The people in the post office itself barely answer the phone and are absolutely useless when you call about a missing package - or one that you've tracked and was delivered to the post office 3 or 4 days prior via fedex smart post.
