I drop off packages with prepaid labels at Post Offices all over the Bay Area....this is the ONLY one that refuses to give a receipt. How ridiculous you are. I was in and out with my service because I needed to mail something out but pressed on time I didn't pay no attention to how he greeted me.. but there was a lady that came in asking questions about doing passport photos they do not offer it at this location but he rudely repeated himself where the next location would offer their services explaining to the lady that she needs to make an appointment for passport services she didn't know this, but he got irritated because he kept expressing to her that you need to go online possibly the library could help you and she was like well can I still go there and see if they can explain to me how to do it his response was "good luck" read more

This place deserves ZERO stars. While the staff is amazing at being condescending to customers, they need a crash course in how to actually do their job. They go above and beyond to belittle you. I once had the main guy run out after me because I supposedly wasn't checking my PO box every week and it was "constantly full and causing them problems". Bitch, are you serious? I get like, one letter a week. I've never see the PO box stuffed to the extreme. Calm your tits,old angry man. One of the ladies always advises me what's the best option for my mailing needs, whether it's for mailing tax payments, mailing special occasion cards for family and friends, or mailing packages. I agree with all the one star reviews. I normally don't take the time to write reviews, but this time I'm so upset that I had to. To make a long story short, I presented my completed application for a refund of unused metered postages that I accidently printed with the wrong amounts along with all the required supports but was rejected right away. I tried to explain my common mistake issue with metered postage machines and that the envelopes were never used but to no avail. I then decided to visit another location and got my full refund, less 10% fee. No questions asked. Someone should really look into the staff at the Capuchino location and retrain them on the rules and how to be courteous to customers. read more

I hated this place when I lived there and I loath them even more now. This Post Office delivers my mother's mail. Today we have been both tracking her Christmas Presents, which was due to arrive today (I moved from Burlingame to New Hampshire 5 years ago). The package was scanned as delivered at 5:21pm. my mother emailed me the notification at 5:37pm that she hasn't received anything. Upon closer look at the notification it stated that the package was left at the mail box. The fully in public view, approx. 30 feet from El Camino Real mailboxes. Per Postal policy, the carrier is to make an attempt to deliver at the door if a package doesn't fit into the mailbox. A 20"14"x10" box can not fit into a 12"x4" mail slot. So the carrier just left it there. During the 20 minute downtime between notification and delivery, the package is gone. So either someone saw it just sitting there or the postal employee stole it. In either case, my mother and her roommate will not be having a Christmas this year thanks to the incompetence of the Capuchino Ave Post Office. Thank you for ruining Christmas for 3 people. To add insult to injury, I could have spent half of what I paid for shipping at UPS and they would have delivered the package to the door. Twice as much and nothing. I hope they all rot in hell. read more

I just had a bad experience at this location attempting to cash a money order. I received a USPS money order as a gift over four years ago but made the mistake of putting it somewhere "safe." I was cleaning over the weekend and found it in an envelope, under a pile of papers, etc. I tried cashing it at a bank but was told they would not honor money orders more than two years old and I would need to go to the post office for help. In retrospect, I suspect the bank employee may have been mistaken or maybe they have some sort of policy. Today, I walked into the Capuchino Post Office and explained my predicament. The woman behind the counter said that the money orders expire after two years and it was no longer good. I plead my case with her and she continued to explain that it was no longer good and there was nothing she could do. Apparently my persistence caused her to chuckle about the issue, which I found upsetting. I did not find this funny at all... from my point of view, the Post Office was given money that was intended for me, and now I wasn't going to get it? She reluctantly wrote down a phone number (passed the buck) so that I could speak with someone else about my situation. I walked outside and called the number which turned out to be for the post office located on Broadway in Millbrae. I spoke with a polite and friendly woman who quickly assured me that USPS money orders never expire. Also, my money order could be cashed immediately at the post office if I was in possession of the original money order and I was the actual recipient. I really didn't want to drive to Millbrae to do this if I didn't have to, so I went back in and told that same woman she should be able to cash it. She obviously didn't believe me but took my money order and disappeared into the back to check it out for herself. She was gone for what seemed like an eternity while other customers trickled in and backed up in the line. By the way, there were no other people in line behind me when this whole charade began. At this point I used my phone to look at the USPS website where it clearly stated USPS money orders never expire. I did see something about lost money orders not being able to be re-issued after a certain amount of time, but that had nothing to do with my situation. When the lady finally returned, she told me she would cash the money order for me like it was no big deal. She checked that my identification matched the money order, checked the serial number in some book to make sure it wasn't lost or stolen, and then proceeded to give me cash. I walked out with my money but of course no apology or acknowledgement of her error. I don't know which I find worse... Her flippant attitude toward my predicament or the fact that she was so sure about something she was completely wrong about. Terrible customer service. One thing to note, I have been to this post office many times over the years. I have not been particularly fond of the customer service but never had to much more than mail packages or buy stamps. Any prior criticism would have been for slow service and not opening up a second window when the line backs up. Which reminds me... I felt really bad for the people waiting in line behind me. There ended up being at least five people waiting by the time I was done. read more

This place had the very worst customer service I have ever experienced in a post office. I went to the counter to politely ask a question, and before even completing my question, the worker started yelling at me to stop asking questions!!! (no exaggeration) It was so awful, especially during the holidays. I attempted politely asking a second worker my question and she was equally very short. No holiday spirit here. :( It was actually quite sad how irritated, stressed out and angry the workers were. Maybe they are understaffed? I went to a different location in San Francisco, dreading long lines, and it was a breeze. The staff were so friendly. It was such a breath of fresh air. I think I will try to avoid coming here in the future. I hope they can get some help in this location because everyone was so upset and unhappy here. I gave this office business one too many times. I work at a hospital where customer service is mandatory for all employees to implement and this post office should undergo some customer service training. During Christmas I sent out 6 packages to 3 different states and all were open and unwrapped and 2 had missing items. When I asked the employee for information regarding this issue, I was told it was definitely not this office and his retirement isn't worth my twenty dollar packages. Bad experience, rude, and bad attitude with regards to the post office Clerk #4. Pedro was a complete obnoxious rude clerk. I felt rushed by him and he kept telling the customers to hurry up because they were closing. This guy does not like his job. It's sad because I was in a good mood before I went in there and by the time I left I was upset and filled with anxiety. I will not be returning to this post office. They need to hire nicer employees. Rude people that work in the public service for our government should not be allowed to work at the counter. Bad customer service is inexcusable! I tried to give them a chance after being away from this location for several months. Today was horrible. I stood in line for 35 minutes. When I got to the counter, she refused to help me on the counter because I didn't fill my to & from info for my international mail. I did have my international slip filled out, which she saw. I told her I'll fill it up as she enters the data. She refused to help me and simply said "no no no... Not filled out... No help" with her broken English and in front of a line of 10+ customers. Don't come here. On top of that, the other staff member leaves for break when there are 10+ customers in line!!! Extremely rude workers! read more

Little post office shop with two tellers only. They are a bit slow here but always helpful. Expect wait in line for 5-10min but after that you will be out of this place within 3min. They sell post cards, Amex gift cards and shipping supplies there. It might look a little bit run down on the inside but I don't care as long as they can ship my parcels on time read more

The self service center where you are supposed to be able to find the forms that MUST be completed BEFORE you go to the counter is almost empty - so you either stand in line to get the form you need then go back to the end - or attempt to jump line and ask for a form - then get snapped at. I regret my annual renewal for my P.O.B. at this location because there have been too many issues with delays in getting daily mail in the boxes prior to 11AM (as the sign indicates), and a clerk who says to "check back tomorrow" rather than give helpful information about later in the day for mail pickup; also late lobby openings on weekends, where I have to check back several times prior to 12Noon on a Saturday to get any mail from the box. It's been a frustrating experience and for such sloppy service, not worth the price to pay for a P.O. Box. read more

I have had a po box at this branch for 6 years and usually receive a disinterested grunt from the two women who work there. I am moving out of California (Hallelujah!!) and put in a change of address online two weeks before I wanted my mail forwarded. The forwarding was to begin on June 27. As of July 5 I was still receiving mail in the box. I printed out my email confirmation to show the women and they said they never received the change order. And they said it with a straight face! In this day and age with email they received the info and confirmation on the same day I did--June 12. Of course they received it and just take their sweet time doing anything about it. It not THEIR mail you see. They could care less and just demonstrated the indifference I have received for 6 years. They love to take your money though. Pathetic. Just know that good old karma is going to come and bite them when they least expect it. Thank goodness I am getting out and going to a place where people actually treat you like a person and not a doormat. Go to Primrose station--it's not a whole lot better but you do get an occasional greeting once in a while. read more

Unfortunately there is not a ZERO rating for the Capuchino Branch of the US Post Office in Burlingame, CA. After paying for my annual PO box online, I received an email saying my box account was closed due to lack of payment. I went in to straighten this out and pay at the post office. I was treated rudely by Mr. Gonzalez (I believe Pedro) and told I would have to pay an additional $20 to reopen the box even though I had paid online a month ago. He said they have had a lot of trouble w online payments but would not let me pay the regular annual fee by cash, check or credit card. I asked him if I were to open a new mailbox if that would cost $20 more and he said no but he would not do that for me. After I explained that this was unfair, he dialed his manager and handed me his cell phone. The phone call dropped and I tried to hit REDIAL but he snatched the phone away from me and told me I had to wait in line again. I called the manager again several times from home and she told me she would call me back but never did. She did say she was not surprised that I had trouble with this worker. Apparently, he has had complaints before. At this point, I am not going to reopen the PO Box and will use another service. This worker has been rude for years but this was a new low. I will no longer use this post office, will use UPS as much as possible and patronize the new branch on Primrose if I have no other alternative. This is an example of why the USPS is losing money and closing branches. I am sure this employee does not represent all postal workers but he is insulting to customers, takes little pride in his work, and regularly stands around rather than working quickly when the line is long, taking breaks despite a high demand for service. read more
