We use the PO in HMB often and have always had excellent service. The packages get where they are supposed to in good condition. Finally their prices are decent and they provide a much needed service to those who live in HMB. Yes, sometimes there is a waiting line, but the postal workers typically move things along.. And they are pleasant , competent, and helpful. read more

This is a really nice post office- I've reviewed post offices before because for over 10 years now I visit them weekly to mail packages out. I've used many post offices on a regular basis in various locations in New Jersey, Brooklyn, Manhattan, San Diego, Carlsbad, Los Angeles, etc. I am a bit of a post office expert. Now, I don't get the low ratings. This is a GOOD P.O.!!! 1. Super nice staff! That is NOT the case at every post office but everyone at the HMB post office is always very helpful and kind to me. It's really great that the postal workers here are face to face vs. behind 3 sheets of glass in NYC.. 2. Huge parking lot- wow, so convenient. Many post offices don't have these. 3. Hours are decent but not the best. They close at 5 which is a bit early for me.. but this is a small town so I get it. 4. I do wish they had a self service machine because when I'm not mailing internationally it is my preference to mail things myself, still not that big a deal. 5. It can be a little slow but I've never waited more than 10 minutes. In LA and NYC I've waited over 30... so get over it! It's not dirty and everyone knows English.. no idea what some of the reviewers are ranting about. I for one appreciate this place. :) If you are so unhappy then yes, go to UPS and pay way more for the same services. Whatever! No one cares. ;) read more

The Half Moon Bay post office is the best. Arnold and the staff are friendly as well as helpful. We love our postal carriers.

Finally made it in to my new town's post office today. The building is kinda cool - really big and angular with lots of glass. If there was a post office building on Flash Gordon's 1978 space station, it would look like this. Service was friendly but painfully slow. I wish they had one of those automated service thingies, oh man that would totally speed things up. I think I also got overcharged for the package I was mailing, but I was in too much of a hurry to question it. Plenty of parking and in an easily accessible location. read more

Three cheers for the wonderful woman who helped me find a package that had the wrong address on it. I called her from Sausalito & explained my problem, she took my information and said she would get back to me. Well she found it, called me back & it got delivered to my friend. This is a solid post office! They've never run out of anything when I've been there 6 times in the past month. Friendly staff. Clean space. Has a separate lane in the street out front (Hamilton Avenue) for mail drop-off. read more

The hours suck. Its literally impossible to get in when you work before they open and your off by the time they close. Ya the staff may be decent. They never returned my phone call after having asked for a manager to call me back so I could get the post office in San frans number. They messed up my save the dates for my wedding. I have been trying to get a package sent to me for weeks now. First it was the sellers fault that the package didn't get here. Now the package is in Half Moon Bay and I can't seem to get ti delivered to my house. The tracking information from the automated line, and on the USPS website says they left a notice at my house on Saturday, but there was no notice at my house. I called the post office twice this morning trying to find out where my package is, and I still not only don't have an answer, but they told me to call back at 9:00 am. I am so beyond angry about this right now. Customer service does not seem to be very high on anyone's list of priorities at the Half Moon Bay post office. No wonder this government agency is going out of business. read more

I have used this PO for 20 ++years, since it was new from the old location in HMB. Most employees are excellent. One lady named Luna, is as good as it gets. Always friendly, cheerful and helpful. Consistently, every time I see her, for as long as I can remember, years. I want everyone to know about this special person. I think most everyone knows, but writing a review is just not popular. read more

I have not written a review though I use this post office daily. All the personnel are efficient when sending out packages and offering advice as well as troubleshooting when some priority packages don't get delivered in other locations. I feel that the personnel in this post office, Half Moon Bay, Ca, really go the extra mile to be helpful. This review is long overdue, actually 10 years overdue. Gina went beyond my expectations recently. I believe she was helping out in the Half Moon Bay branch (normally works in another branch). I had questions about some packages I was tracking (the system didn't pick up when the packages left the Bay Area). I was concerned about it, and Gina sent an email and made a call. Fortunately, the packages were delivered without incident. I was very impressed by Gina's willingness to help. read more

The passport processor does not know how to do her job. English is not her first language. She did not understand most of our questions and couldn't speak many of the English words required to communicate with us. Plus, we made an appointment two weeks in advance, yet we still were made to wait 20 minutes, and then we weren't helped until we began to complain loudly. Quiet demands for service were not effective. Employee did not know her boss' name. It's postmistress Harriet Chan, who according to employee isn't there much. She will be getting a copy of this review, as will her district supervisor. read more

I live in El Granada and my mail is delivered by the Half Moon Bay post office. There's a serious problem here. Either at the post office itself, or, with the mail delivery people. So far, that I know about, I have not received 2 wedding invitations and 2 bills ... I know about the 2 bills because I did eventually receive late payment notices. Whoo knows what else has been mailed to me and has not been delivered? I've never experienced this before. Also, they don't answer their phone. What is going on at this post office??? read more

This is not a bad Post Office at all. It is close to Main Street, has a helpful staff, and is easy to find. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to mail a letter or two while in HMB. I cannot comment on the PO boxes, however. read more

This is my favorite post office to drop my packages off at. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It doesn't seem like it's ever busy, although sometimes I do have to wait for an employee to come out to the front. I was able to get a passport picture taken without an appointment and the employee helping me made sure I had everything needed in my application to mail it right then and there. The parking lot is very spacious and the drive by mailboxes have their own in and our, which is really convenient. read more

Worst mail delivery. Ever. I routinely receive my neighbors' mail, and they receive mine. Happened twice last week. HMBPO delivery issues are a constant topic of conversation on Coastside NextDoor; it's difficult to find a resident that hasn't been negatively impacted by their absolutely horrendous delivery service. Checks, wedding invitations, bills...all missing... One of their idiot drivers actually drove ONTO my landscaped yard to hand me a package. Seriously DROVE the truck over boulders and plants to hand me something. Cranky old sucker gave me attitude when I asked him to back his truck out of my yard. I'm pretty sure he shouldn't be driving ANY vehicle at this point, and should maybe consider retiring. Members of the Midcoast Community Council are aware of the issue. Hopefully they can escalate to the appropriate person to begin to get this resolved. Seriously doubt it though, since removing a government employee from their position is nearly impossible. read more

HMB post office and their staff are the worse! They are so bad, they put my mail in other neighbors mail..I dnt know what's going on! I have already called head quarters in San Francisco and they said they would resolve the issue and they have not! It's kinda disturbing but one of the mangers actually had the nerve to come to my address Nd knocked on my door and scared my father!!! I am so fed up! My mail has been lost so many times and I am not receiving mail! read more

Really bad post office. Consistently don't deliver mail say they will deliver it the next day and don't then I have to go to post office to collect package. This has happened 10-15 separate times. Customer service is super rude and can barely speak English. One of the worst usps I've had to use. read more

Good post office. Friendly people. Alot of parking and a drive thru drop box. Sometimes the lines back up at peak hours, (lunch and the end of the work day, just like any other buisness)There English is fine, don't listen to the 1 lady on here ranting about her personal problems. The people there are so friendly, the facility is easy to get to and there's always parking, and while there's sometimes a line, people seem patient, and the workers there are always friendly and helpful. Today I went to the main post office in Half Moon Bay to pick up a package ( i had an orange slip in my mail box telling me there was a parcel to be picked up). While I was there I asked about a parcel that I had not received but was marked "delivered to mailbox" last week, and after a wait of about 10 mins the lady came out with not one, but 5 parcels, that had been there for over a week. I asked why I had not received a slip in my mailbox and she assured me I must have had. I assured her I had not!! I asked her how I was supposed to know that I had received a parcel if the mail man did not let me know. The sad thing is that she just didnt care. What makes it worse is that I was there just a few days ago picking up another parcel and they did not spot the other 4 parcels that were sitting there waiting for me!! This is not the first time I have had this problem, so in future I will be having all my parcels delivered by a more reliable carrier I'd like to address this directly with USPS but there does not seem to be an option to email them read more

The Post Office on Stone Pine Road is great, people efficient and courteous, and the line moves quickly. However the local delivery people on my street (Laurel) to my home are less than courteous, as for years they have torn up my fence on the walkway, destroyed my plants because they do not want to walk around the fence, and now destroy my plants in front of my porch by throwing the packages on the porch over properly delivering them. I have left note after note and everyone denies responsibility. This has been going on for years since 2008. read more

This post office is asking customers to come down and pick up their orders that came from Amazon Prime. Nobody is willing to deliver the packages during their regular daily route, it doesn't matter what size the package is, you won't get it. The manager is not doing something about this problem and she doesn't consider this is a huge problem. I am hoping that Amazon is reading these complaints by now. Can someone report this problem to Channel 7 News? read more

There is no excuse for the rudeness of the woman that said she was in charge of the Half Moon Bay, CA post office ( I believe her last name is Chen or Cheng). The other postal workers have been very professional and I was shocked to experience this encounter. I had been to the post office several times over the past month trying to figure out the location of a missing package. The package was mailed at this P.O. on March 11th (it is now 4/8) addressed to Honolulu Hawaii.. According to the tracking information the package keeps bouncing between Greensboro, N.C. and Honolulu. This person in charge told me I must have addressed it wrong?? Then why would it keep bouncing between a random city and Honolulu? Anyway I called yesterday to see what she had found out about the situation. SHE was so rude and as I tried to understand what she was saying she HUNG UP ON ME. She has my phone number so it was not an accident. Still another day and no phone call. No apologies were offered for this situation but addressed with an unprofessional and distasteful manner. How does someone like this keep her job. read more
