People here are always friendly, and the line goes quickly. It's so nice having a post office in town! Also, anyone who has issues with the facility appearance can take it up with the Gilbert family, who own the shopping center (hence the name "Gilbert Center"). I've heard they can be quite the trying landlords. read more

BEST location, hands down!! Not a review for visiting once or twice, been coming here for years. Because of this location, I now dread going to any other -will avoid other post offices like the plague...not kidding. Used to work in San Jose and would lug packages back home just to mail from here the next morning. EXCELLENT customer service at the desk from Lydia & Joe. Both are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient! This is a smaller location, perfect for a TOWN atmosphere. They know regulars by name --think of the tv show Cheers. Definitely makes you feel special and not just going to another cold government office. I actually look forward to sending mail here!! :) Bonus: Lobby open 24hrs for PO Box access. read more

The last time that my wife and I used this USPS branch to mail a package, we received unprofessional service. It was during the winter holidays, and the staff may not have been the full-time ones, but we still felt poorly treated and somewhat disturbed by the experience. My wife went here to mail a Christmas package to relatives in Eastern Europe, the woman at the counter assumed (wrongly) that she was a foreigner and began to instruct her in how things were done "in this country." She questioned why we had used our own box (even though we had filled out the customs form prior to coming), and she scolded C. for not purchasing an official USPS mailer. Furthermore, she actually COMPLAINED about having to type the international mailing information into her computer. I recognize that the holidays are a busy time for the post office and they may use extra help at these times, but please do not make such assumptions about people or treat them with disrespect. read more

I have a love for this Post Office since my dad worked the front counter for many many years before retiring. A small knit community where everyone knows your name for the most part. Especially my dad's name. :) He always loved coming to work and helping everyone who walked into the Post Office. I know he misses the friendly faces he became accustoming to seeing daily and chatting with them. I still head up here to mail cards...brings back fond memories of a community that was dear to our family. read more

Lydia and Joe are the best postal workers I've ever met - and I've lived in 9 states and 2 foreign countries! They are helpful, kind, and run a great post office in Woodside. It's always a joy to go to the post office, to mail taxes or get stamps, which I've never been able to say before. Please be nice to them when you go - say hello and ask how they are. Mention them by name. It really goes a long way with them (and others). So thankful I live near such a great post office! read more

Hello, I'm not saying Bradley N.'s account is not true - of course it may have happened as this branch occasionally has substitute employees. However, I sell items on online and ship often, I live a few blocks from the Woodside Plaza Post office. I've been visiting about 3 times a week for two consecutive years and I have yet to see a female employee. The same two postal clerks are usually present, every once in a while one will be on leave and a male sub steps in. Again I'm not saying the poster's incident did not happen, but if it did it was just unfortunate timing and bad luck - it's definitely not a common occurrence. The two regular male clerks are fine and friendly, they can at times seem to appear a little stressed and do get a little anxious when it's close to closing time and there's a long line customers. The wait is ok and parking is so-so. If you want extremely friendly service (but with horrendous parking) the main Redwood City Post office employees are the friendliest ladies you will ever meet! It can be 10 past closing with a long line of late comers locked in the store, and they'll still greet and treat you with a smile and friendly banter as if they had just opened. read more

The post office employees are so helpful but why can't the delivery people knock on my door when a signature is required? Especially when the post office is closed the following day! It's frustrating when you need something. How lazy can you be! read more

Like many individuals writing of their support for the Woodside Post Office and the Woodside Mail Office I share the positive reviews of both of these offices. My primary concern is the dilapidated status of the American Flag hanging above the post office. To my knowledge this flag has never been raised or lowered; it is faded beyond recognition and hangs at half mast. I wrote a nice email to the Woodside Town Council asking someone to interceded and to raise a new flag over the PO but never got a reply! Today I talked to the manager of the Main Redwood City Post office on Woodside Road near the 280 Freeway and he promised to send someone out to investigate. Maybe something will be done; maybe not. If an American Flag is flown it should be done properly. Men and women have died protecting the flag and the people of the United States. Leon C. (Woodside) read more

I love not having to be home for packages and the Woodside Mail Office will sign for them for you. When all of my wedding registry gifts started coming in, they always helped me bring them out to my car. If you are just getting mail from a PO Box, they give you a key and you can come in after hours. Maybe you can do this at all PO Boxes, but I've never had one before so I wouldn't know. They just said "Don't have any parties in here after hours" lol OK. read more

I pack and ship valuable art through the Woodside Mail Office and honestly wouldn't go anywhere else. I always hear from the buyer at the other end and the great packing is always mentioned. I thought this place was so great b/c they offer so many handy services. I went here to send a fax and they charged me $13, yes THIRTEEN DOLLARS, to send 6 pages. I am a very courteous person but I actually laughed and asked the guy if he was joking. $13!?!?! get real people. I will never go there again. read more

Went there for passport around 2 pm, surprisingly there's only one customer ahead. Btw, there's separate entrance for passport service inside the post office. Tess was great help. Hip hip hooray, she's very courteous, efficient and helpful. She has one of the best customer service. I was in & out for only 15-20 min. Job done and great. Cheers for Tess!!!!!! read more

I've always received very friendly and helpful service, even when I brought in a huge amount of mail that had to be registered.

I have used this mail office for the past ten plus years. The staff is very knowledgeable and the service excellent. I highly recommend them to everyone. You may pay more for the service but it is worth it. If you rent a PO Box, they receive, sign and help load the heavy packages for you. They even notify me when large packages arrive. What a difference from the post office that crams mail in the box and provides poor service. read more

My son went to mail his first ever tax return and stepped into this place by mistake . It is just a few doors down from the actual US post office where hr E should have gone. My son asked for the envelope to go certified mail so he would have proof of mailing and a date stamp. What he got in return was a photocopy of the USPS Certified Mail slip, but completely blank, no address filled in, no date, not even the torn off receipt that you normally take home. He was told this would be proof of his having mailed his tax payment on time. But how? No address, no date. When I went back to question this dubious procedure, I was met with aggression and a sarcastic mimicking of my accent. The guy who worked there obviously was annoyed at my interrupting his watching heavy metal concerts on his computer, and stormed over to the real post office to see if they still had my son's envelope so I could check that the procedure was correctly handled. Because as it stands, the kind lady behind the real USPS counter says that what we got from the Woodside Mail Office is definitely not proof if mailing! And so here I wait while we try to sort out this mess!! read more

Usually I have no problem with this branch of the US Postal Service. I have never had anything but very nice customer service, and never had any problems except for one problem that I experienced very recently. I had an application that I needed to mail on a Friday afternoon. I made it clear that the package needed to get there by Monday and I needed to be able to track it, and asked for advice on what service to use. We ended up figuring out that First Class Certified Mail would be best for me. I was not told that if they tried to deliver on Saturday and the recipient was not there that they would simply hold the package and not try to deliver again unless the recipient picked it up themselves or called to re-schedule (after tracking it and finding this out, I tried to call to re-schedule, but the sender is not allowed to do this...it must be the recipient). After taking the time and paying the price to send my package via first class certified mail I still ended up having to hand deliver my application so it would arrive on time for me to be considered for the position. I was not a happy camper. This is not necessarily a problem with this branch though. I think it is a problem with USPS as a whole (this restriction is not listed on the website either and I strongly feel that it should be). read more

Today I arrive at the RWC Woodside Plaza Post Office (12/31/2013) at 12:07pm to find a line of people inside and the front door looked. I look at a sign on the door (which was not there yesterday) that says they close today at 12 noon... which means they were only open for two and a half hours (9:30a-12p)! I just wanted to get mail out of my P.O. Box, that's it, no other transaction. So I attempt to call them, only to discover that the RWC Woodside Plaza branch apparently has no public number. I reach another RWC branch and explain my situation and while I am talking I see some patrons leave and see a female customer enter the building!! I run back to the P. O. to try to get inside but no luck. I call again and speak to the same staff from another RWC branch. She puts me through to the Woodside Plaza branch but (of course) the guy says "We're closed" and I say "I just saw a customer go in!" and he doesn't believe me and starts to debate me. Not happy. All he had to do was open the door, let me get my mail from my P. O. Box, and then I'd leave: a simple one minute transaction. But, no, playing favorites to one patron and debating another was more important. Everyone who has a P.O. at that branch needs to receive more advance notice on changes in hours. Did it ever dawn on me that a Post Office (or any business) would even bother to be open for only 2.5 hours? Nope. I please ignorance on that one. read more
