I recently moved and the USPS mail delivery person left a note in my mailbox. They are claiming I left garbage in front of my mailbox (never happened and I have cameras to prove it) and are threatning to not deliver mail anymore to my address if it happens again. Then at the end of the note, they wrote "Please keep it even with mail box after 145." There is no mailbox after 145. What is going on here USPS and why is this behavior allowed? read more

trying to do a change of address for two months now. I worked at the post office for 5 yrs I've never seen this. You fill out the form and then get a letter saying they need you to. come in and verify ur id in the next 20 days. being past 20 days, they say to get out of this go online. you go online, fill it all out, they charge you 1.10 per person for 'id verification.' Then they MAKE you select a series of ads that you would like due to ur move. what kind of car you drive, what kind of insurance you have do you have a Costco membership, wayfair, Walmart. After entering your credit card info they send you an email saying..you need to come into to verify your id. Oh and you have to register to vote. read more

We've worked with 3 post offices around Butte County over the past 8 years. Unfortunately, the Oroville one is our least favorite to put it nicely. It is very hard to get anyone to care about anything. We have a pickup daily (shipping typically 50-150 items), but sometimes they show up REALLY early, like 10 AM...then sometimes they show up REALLY late, like 6:30 PM after you call them multiple times because they forgot you (seems to happen at least once a quarter, sometimes 3+ times per quarter). From a business perspective, there is no reliability here - it stresses out our shipping team and is incredibly frustrating for all of us here. I know they're capable of fixing this, but it just feels like no one there actually cares about asking what the customer needs. There's a lot of individually good human beings working at this post office, but the problem seems to be systemic. Every time a new person comes on, we get skipped! Seems like something someone would notice and start training the new guys correctly. We've tried speaking with Post Master...but come to find out, they didn't have one (she quit!) and there was just 1 filling in from somewhere else...3 months later we tried again and it was some other person filling in for post master since they still didn't have one. None of the employees we spoke with have any authority to fix and they just acted like we were bothering them. My honest opinion is they felt as trapped as we do with no leadership and no way to fix the problem because the higher ups (if they're even there) don't care. I'm really rooting for you guys at Oroville USPS - you have some great people! However, I have to leave an honest review and hope someone monitors these reviews and will see this and care enough to actually try and make some much needed improvements to the system. If your a business and you have a choice between post offices for pickup (or FedEx or UPS) - I'd suggest going with that option and avoiding Oroville USPS until they fix some of these issues. Oroville USPS SUCKS! They lie. They hold packages that they say YOU requested they hold when they never talked to you at all. Last year I received no mail for months as they kept saying my address was invalid. I've been receiving mail here for 23 years! Just crappy, crappy, crappy service. Horrible post office my letters and packages have been disappearing for the past 2 months. Making me come out regularly to pick up my packages I'm so tired of this horrible service. I came out to pick up a parcel the gate was closed all carriers still parked and unloaded. Called the back line to see if they can hold my parcel until post office opens up. She said no the parcel is out for delivery already and all carriers have left. I was shocked to hear that because gate was locked and carriers still parked. This was at 7:15! I have been in Oroville for 21 years and Can you say that this is the worst mail Delivery office that I have ever had! I have 1st hand knowledge of how the mail should run. I worked fora bulk mail center for 2 years as an Executive assistant, my ex-husband is a retired 35 year veteran of the postal service as a carrier! I have seen a mailwoman hit a bicyclist and not even report or make sure the man was okay!, After I reported to a supervispor, nothing was done. The carriers are often rude, lazy and start the day annoyed! They do Not pay attention to the names on packages and envelopes nor the addresses, so often getting somebody else's mail! A few of the women at the main are nice and helpful, but hate to go due due too long waiting in line for assistance! Miss the postage machines! read more

The people are nice and helpful, but two boxes I've sent there from NC, at two separate times, have gotten completely LOST. They were supposedly delivered to a parcel locker, but weren't there. Very frustrating! read more

ABSOLUTLY DISGUSTED ! Just got my vehicle registration for my vehicle 10/28/22 the post mark on the envelope is july 19, 2022 My registration was due 9/30/2022 The oroville post office cost me a $46 late fee because they lost my registration notice for 3 months! I have been coming to this post office at least three days a week for the past year. Every single one of the tellers has been nothing but pleasant and accommodating. Sometimes it gets busy, but that happens just about anywhere. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because I have had a handful of packages misdelivered to neighbors of mine. read more

I am so sick of not receiving my packages when I AM home! Today was the final.straw! Three times now, I get a notice in my mail box, not at my door, stating "sorry I missed you." Are you kidding me? I have been home for months recovering from a double mastectomy! My husband is always home as well. Because this post person is to lazy to walk up to the door, I've missed getting my pain medication twice! We have three yorkies so I would clearly have heard them barking if anyone came to the door! So yesterday Tuesday August 27th We got no mail on Elma St in Oroville 95965. We have informed delivery which says we where supposed to get 5 pieces of mail. We live on a street with no set mail carrier so we get who ever. So I go to call the post office no answer as usual. What the heck which dumpster did they throw our mail in again.This has happened before. As for those that say well maybe no one got mail we got notice from the post office we had 5 pieces coming!Also how can 8 apartments and 1 house all get no mail the odds are so out there that my computer can't even calculate it! read more

This is the poorest managed postal office I have ever encountered. Our postal carrier is incompetent making constant errors, and the other staff is full of BS and excuses. I get other people's mail all the time, so I know I'm not getting all of my mail. Online at their website I scheduled to pick up my package myself since my carrier is too lazy to come up to my house so I can sign for it. They sent it with the carrier again today so it was not at the office when I went to pick it up. This is not the first time. There have been times I had to pick up packages because our carrier said they are oversized (9"x11", we have oversized locked postal boxes for that (They were both empty at the time), and the staff at the postal office is rude and full of BS. Wrostest post office ever! Poor customer service, rude and lazy worker, and the manger don't do his job as positioned. It's the boss fault for not fixing this problem that why the manger and worker don't do their job as assist. I don't even understand how people can still go send their stuff there. I have to say I completely agree with the previous reviews, I asked for a manager or supervisor and out she came.....smh can you say power trip yikes. This woman could NOT be any more rude!! I work with the community I know you can not make everyone happy, but at least try to be professional. The same woman was very rude to my daughter on a separate day so she wasn't just having a bad day. She told me about a policy when I asked for it in writing she said she would type one up....Hmmm a policy you have to write up???? Sounds legit right. I plan on doing a follow up with the main postal office and I'll be picking up this letter as my reference with her name on it. Big building and old looking, upon entry a man asked if I needed any help right off the bat and directed me to what I needed. This was a very nice way to start off since I do not send many packages and was not aware of all the options. However, only one lady was checking people out so the line took a minute to get through but she was friendly too. read more

The Post Office itself is gorgeous! It's the delivery of insured packages that is my gripe. I mailed priority with insurance, a birthday gift to my grandson. They live in a Security locked apartment building with a "small" mail slot. Instead of leaving a slip the carrier left the package outside the complex (which is on a public street) against the door (so was said). Needless to say, the package was stolen. To add to that the USPS refuses to cover my claim. Why on earth would I send another package through the USPS, AND insure it, if they can't be responsible with my packages and honor the insurance?!! read more
