This has got to be the best post office in the city. Nine visits out of ten, there have been employees actually visible behind the counter and helping people! The wait is rarely unreasonable and the employees themselves are a wonderful, friendly, HELPFUL bunch of human beings. They have a good rapport with their customers and know many by name. I've never had a package mistreated or go missing from this branch, receiving or sending. The employees are also willing to educate you about regulations and postage options if you ask. The best part? They are not stingy with the tape or pens. You just have to give them back when you're done. read more

This is the best branch I've been to in the city. The employees are very nice and helpful, even if you've forgotten to fill an address in, etc. They even give my kids a lollipop sometimes. Happy kids = easy errands. There is rarely a line here. If there is, it's usually under a 5 minute wait in my experience. Got our children's passports here and the employees were patient and helpful, making sure we had everything completed correctly before sending the applications in. Ongoing delivery and business package pickup problems. Going on six years of horrible inconsistency since moving my business into this area. Everything is fantastic about Jeff Park except this post office location (excluding two temporary carriers that actually know all of these ongoing issues). I usually go here in person, and when I do, the wait seems to be only ten minutes or less, and it's easy to get to from public transit. The employees aren't overly-friendly in my experiences, but they're still pretty helpful. Today I had an issue with a package being delivered, and after being on hold withe general ASK-USPS line for 20 minutes three times each, I tried to call my local post office, which would be this one. I got an answer only after a few rings, and the gentleman that helped me locate my package was quick, polite, and very helpful. Good experience today! read more

I have never had any issues with my mail from this location until this morning. I had a critical package arriving today but it itself arrived too late to go out with the morning mail. My carrier (who I see often and is very friendly) explained that she didn't have it and that it probably arrived late from the hub. Fast forward a few hours and the PO made a secondary delivery and got my package into my hands. Good stuff mates. read more

The mail delivery people usps has hired lately are clearly illiterate and/or lazy as can be. It is ridiculous that we have to play mail exchange every day with our neighbors. They also can't seem to figure out a way to place the mail into our boxes without stuffing letters and magazines to the point of damaging them. read more

This is the worst post office ever I had a lady behind the counter tell me she wouldn't look for my package in back because her feet hurt, ARE YOU KIDDING ME. The staff here acts as if they're doing us a favor for doing their job. If I could give zero stars I would. By far the worst post office in history. You can't make this stuff up. My wedding dress was delivered to the wrong address. I have been there in person and on the phone talking with FOUR different people who all promised to call me back and NOT ONE has done so. No one will help me! What more do I have to do??? This post office has the worst customer service. Including my local delivery lady. She no longer wants to climbs stairs... So she just throws out mail at our door. It is the epitome of lazy and when it rains all of our mail gets ruined. I have called and complained and confronted her about and nothing is done. I came here to pick up my husbands package but I couldn't because I don't have his ID even though my ID proves that we both have the same last name and address. We were both home when the person who supposedly was delivering the package went to our next door neighbor and left the slip to the wrong place. Wasting my time for someone else's job. I was just at the post office on Lawerence and long ave. I was sending a parcel to Ireland. They have changed the declaration page. While a customer was writing info I asked Carol the clerk is this the correct page. She grunted and looked the other way and ever so rudely told me it's the white one white pointing accross the room. I asked her is it the white one in my hand you are referring too? She grunted again!! There was an old Lady in line before me and said she is always so rude to me too. She became free and both the old Lady and I said we would wait for the next person. John is a gentleman and so is Bonita always great service from them both. Not much to say about this place , seldom visited by only simple because of the bad service they offer. Waiting lines no matter when you go are extremely long and sometimes have to wait for over 30 minutes. And employees are the toughest you can see. everyone here should be fired.... a few years back THEY STOLE MY TABLET.....yes, I was about to return it to the store and the tracking number shows accepted at the post office, 'clerk 6'....and the tablet was never found.....did not bother to write the review, just don't go there anymore... a few months back I called the police since one of their 'carriers' had a nervous breakdown in the car screaming and yelling at the phone.... she scared a few people walking by.... today, 10/15, I believe the same 'carrier' dropped all our mail on the stairway.....and our mailboxes are write there..... this part is for her - if you don't like this job, quit. terrible, terrible, terrible...... not only are there vitrually no mail boxes to drop mail into around the zip code, and not only do they NOT answer their phone, and not only is the counter staff rude, ignorant and arrogant, not only do they lie on tracking number information, not only this post office is LAZY, and certainly management sees it, don't get it, and condones pure laziness and supports the postal workers collecting their welfare....oops paychecks.... now i clearly understand why this money losing albatross needs to be put to rest, consolidate, slim up, and certainly be put out of business more sooner rather than later...if it wasn't government supported, it would have been doa 50 years ago!! and this office on lawrence and milwaukee is certainly the poster child for why the usps needs to close up!! read more

I live fairly close to this post office and I must say it has been the worst every. I have several packages that seem to get scanned as delivered, but NEVER make it to my home or make it 2 days after being scanned as delivered (ex. labor day we all know post office workers do not work, however they still scanned that they delivered my package on labor day and nothing received)!!! Then when you speak to a manager or supervisor at this location, the only response is that the delivery states it was delivered and they side with that. Now in the process of filing yet another complaint for lost package with NO solution. read more

i wouldn't even give this post office 1 star but this is the only way i can review it. this post offices rightly fully earned the title of the worst post office in chicago. i'm currently waiting for delivery (of heart medication) that was shipped out usps express parcel on 3/26/19. from the tracking i've learned it was at the chicago il distribution center 3/28/19 at 2:04 am. next notification is 3/30/19 at 11:02 am when it was accepted by the usps destination facility and next arrived at the jefferson park post office at 12:17 pm on 3/30/19. their expected delivery date is 4/1/19 by 8 pm. my question is what constitutes a usps express parcel delivery...it's 5:00 pm on 4/1/19 ...i'm still waiting!!!!!!! i'm angry because this is an on going problem with this post office! read more

Clean and well-managed, this post office is worth going out of your way to use. Even if you can't get there during normal business hours, the lobby is open so you can still get to the stamp machines inside- not all the post offices in the city are. The location is fairly convenient; off Lawrence and Milwaukee. Parking can be tough to find sometimes, but it's a hop skip and a jump from the Jeff Park CTA/Pace/Metra station. read more

He talks down to customers and says things like "relax" and "you ruined it". He lacks patience for non native English speakers which are plentiful in this very Polish neighborhood. He's the worst. The staff here are insanely rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. I went in to speak with someone about getting a passport. I was thrilled because no guest were there so I figured it be easy to ask my few questions. Also, I tried to call before hand 4 times with no answer. So, I asked about the preside to get a passport. I already had all the forms and paperwork. The lady said they only did them by appointment. I said okay could I please make one I didn't mind waiting or coming back. I needed to order it as soon as possible for my surprise honeymoon trip end of next month. She said I has go online. I asked how to create the appointment and of there was anyway she could just see if whoever did the passports had any availability since I was there. She got very rude and snappy with me and told me to wait to the side because someone came in. I stepped to the side and just went to the back and never came back. I waited 30mins and nothing. One of the best service from clerks I have ever had. There is always someone by counter, people are friendly and after few visits they remember you. We had issues with not complete address on packages shipped to us. Staff put an effort to find it between packages ready to ship back. It took 2 days but we received a phone call to pick them up. Parking is an issue since you can park only on streets where city of Chicago placed meters. I decided to give 5 stars since service and staff effort to have work done and their manner are exceptional. read more
