Unfortunately, I think they are super under staffed which is why I will give it 2 stars instead of 1, but it doesn't excuse the poor customer service that a post office should just not have. I was lucky enough to have one decent experience with a worker, but it doesn't make up for the amount of times I've had a negative experience. I made my appt. for a passport at 12 pm on a Monday and was not taken until about 2:15 pm because the woman who handles this at this office didn't arrive till about 1:30 pm. Not to mention that I had made a passport appointment the previous week, but it was cancelled about 45 minutes before I was scheduled to be there. If the front desk worker goes on break, there is no one to cover the shift so the waiting line just gets longer and longer. It's just poorly run overall. read more

I was sitting looking out the window waiting for my package to be delivered when I got a text that said delivery attempted- unable to deliver! Literally had the time when the package delivery supposedly was attempted. No mail person came to my house and no slip was left in my mailbox. This is a $4000.00 item. This place employs probably the rudest and most entitled people you'll ever meet. Came to mail a couple packages. But nobody at the counter. I can hear her talking to a friend in back. After a couple minutes I knock since I wasn't sure if she knew anyone was here. She peeks from the corner with a phone in her hand and says "what do you want" I say I wanna mail a package (duh what else would I be doing here). She tells me "go to the kiosk and do it im on the phone with my friend" I explain I didn't want to since these are important packages and I want them entered by a clerk. She rolled her eyes and gave me a dirty look but I finally got her to help with the packages. As I put them on the scale she complained I'm not putting them on the scale right and that I should be better at centering them on the scale. (They weren't off center. She had me move it 1/2" to the left) Then she says ok theyre done go put them in the bin behind the counter. These aren't heavy or bulky packages. I've never had a usps person tell me to go behind the counter to put my package. As I get ready to do that the survey pops up and she tried to give herself a positive feedback. I quickly hit negative and another mean look came about. As I go to put the packages in the bin 2-3 customers walk in. about 15 min till they close at this point. She tells them all she's done working for the day. She's not helping anyone and they have to come back tomorrow. They explain it's just a label with a receipt they want. The old lady, without a nametag became outraged because I questioned that I had never been asked to place my package on the scale, after much back and forth, I asked for her name and then REFUSED TO TAKE MY PACKAGES!!! Do not go to this location and interact with this miserable woman, it will only ruin your day and frustrate you. I had an appointment for a passport, showed up a few minutes early. The employee was helping a customer, she stopped and yelled at me to ask me why I was there. I told her I had an appointment for a passport, she replied nope, there are no appointments today they cancelled them. I said I never got a notification that my appointment was cancelled, she replied well I'm the only person here I'm not doing it. I said I took my daughter out of school early for this appointment. Writing my first review ever. I witnessed an elderly lady being badgered by a rude postal worker. The lady specifically stated what she needed, and the "worker" pretended not to understand. She made the lady repeat her request several times and again pretended not to understand. When the "worker"finally "got it" and it was time to pay, the lady asked if she should tap her credit card and the response was, "Do you even know how to tap?". The next customer in line wanted to check if she had enough postage on her letter and the "worker" said "Well put it on the scale." she was too lazy to take the letter from the woman's hand and put it on the scale. Just came back from dealing with THE WORST and ABUSIVE treatment from a postal worker in Harwood Heights, IL EVER (1/7/25 around 3:00 p.m. Woman in her 60's or 70's). What upset her....maybe...1st time in line I didn't have envelope filled out because pen didn't work. Asked if I can barrow a marker. She gave me one and yelled at me not to write address up by here. she pointed her finger and with nasty tone told me to go fill out (on the counter) the customer she was trying to communicate with directly after spoke broken English (but I understood her) whose main language was Greek. I KINDLY (don't want the fuel that Hell-fire) attempted to recommend using cell phone to translater Greek/English and that really pissed off this P. W. even more! She told me a few choice words (out came my phone). You don't need to be a doctor to figure out this individual needs therapy, is a ticking time-bomb and a serious liability! I did NOTHING to upset her and even if someone did ----absolutely did not warrant this kind of behavior! When I asked what her name was she said " G. O. D". - YEP she SPELLED it out and then tried to "recant" (when she saw all of our reactions) by saying I'm a child of God. She was sooo abusive something told me to have my "recorder" ready to go while standing in line waiting for my second attempt at "customer service". Yep...came in handy because I got most of it documented. The facial reactions of the customers standing in line said it all! I told and showed her I was recording and well....her words are on record. I will be glad to have her superior listen to this. I was patient, spoke in a kind tone and have proof. After that fiasco, headed down the street to the bank (by this time was VERY upset heart beating rapidly head ringing) the workers there know me. There is only one handicapped space in the parking lot and a front desk postal employee with a handicap plate parks in it all day, on the days she comes to work. She could easily park in a postal employee spot, so the handicapped patrons can get easily and quickly in and out. Every handicapped patron is inconvenienced by this hogging of the single handicap space. The facilities manager should not allow this. read more

If I could give a lesser rating, I certainly would. It is ridiculous that the individuals in customer service who are supposedly tasked with Passport Service are so utterly rude, condescending and don't seem to have the training to do the task required of them. I made an appointment on 9/20, specifically to speak with someone knowledgable. The older woman (who is always cold and weaaring a heavy coat) was the individual who was to "help" me. This was a passport renewal, and I wanted confirmation I had all documents required, as my previous passport expired in 2020 and was last issued 14 years ago. I had copies, SS card, Real ID, court docs and had everything neatly in a folder. As I was pulling documents out of a folder, this woman barely got a glance of the copy of the SS card and completely freaked out. She threw her hands in the air, jumped back away from the counter as if she was being attacked, and in a loud and agitated voice said, "you need to get rid of that, I can't see that." Over-reaction is an understatement. She then rushed into a back office and was loudly asking, FROM THE BACK OFFICE (for everyone in the vicinity to hear), "is the copy gone from sight?" Her rude treatment and condescending attitude went on from there. She looked through my documents, asked me to point out where the court order said I was changing my name, when it was clearly stated in capital letters. She pushed everything back to me, and said I could do it myself. Then picked up 2 priority document envelopes and proceeds to show me how envelopes WORK, by demonstrating how I'm to pull the adhesive strip off and showing me how to fold the flap over to seal it. Perhaps if I were a juvenile, this may have been a helpful demonstration. My response was "as an ex-postal worker, I'm well versed in how envelopes work." At that point I had enough of her attitude and left, WITHOUT GETTING MY RENEWAL IN THE MAIL! I am a huge supporter of USPS. I've been a mail processor, flat sorter processor, trainer, expeditor and was in the 204-B program. I've never run into someone so bent on being such an awful representative of USPS. read more

This is a situation in which I wish I could leave zero stars. I sent a document via priority mail (1-2 day delivery) and walked it into the post office to mail. Tracking number and the whole shmear. You guessed it. The letter never got there. What really sticks out is how little the post office does about it or cares. The post office where I went called the last post office to see the letter and they hung up on her. Then the clerk gave me the number to call the postmaster for that office. It turns out the number she gave me was disconnected. When I found the number, the phone tree refused to offer an option to speak with the representative.
