I came here on a Saturday an hour before they closed and I was the only one in line! I was shocked. The lady who took care of me was super friendly and polite (something I have not experienced at the Oak Park location). The office seemed new and very clean. I always walk in large packages because I need the receipt to track the package. I have never in my whole life had a letter or package get lost with the USPS. I have huge faith in their service and I always say that the mail carriers are the hardest working people around. Rain or shine they deliver our mail. My personal experience at this post office is a sad tale of lost and destroyed mail. I've mailed out several letters over past several months, obviously one letter vanished from the face of the Earth because it never reached its destination. My opinion is that this location is the best Post Office in the entire city. It is all about people. The people who work here were friendly and polite every time. I live in this area for a couple of years and I'm coming to my local Post Office pretty often because of my working needs. And I have to admit that this people always gave me great attitude and exceptional help with a smile on the face. Even thru the mask. I wish them the best every time. I hate this USPS. I've had orders say they were out for delivery and then say delivered when they never came. I have to go in, ask about it and wait to see who might have it which delays days. They never leave me a "we missed you" note and I've had a handful of packages go "missing". This is literally the worst post office to exist. read more

Yes, this office is very understaffed, but thankfully, I've been able to come during off times, when there is only a few people in line. The workers I've dealt with were stiff, but pleasant. I've seen worse elsewhere in many establishments... One time, I accidentally dropped my rent check in the post office box outside of this facility, and only realized it a couple of hours later. They worked with me, although it took a few hours, to have someone come and open the box, so I could retrieve my letter. They asked for a few IDs before they would give it to me, and had me verify the addressee, but that's a good thing.The customer service gets a 3 from me. I only wish they were open earlier and later. I bought a Father's Day gift for my husband, and when the package arrived at home, the box was empty. As in completely empty! The box was opened and 2 tapes were applied in effort to re-package the box. And they even took the card inside too. Smh! I had been waiting for a package for the last few days and I had no tracking updates on my order status. I was pretty upset and I went to the post office to find out. I was there around 6:20pm just as they were about to close. The supervisor Ashley went out of her way to find my package, and took down my information to follow up with me. No stars actually but Pam and Sharon are the worst! Every time I go in there they act like they're better than you and will not help you no matter what. They will make you wait while they take forever doing who knows what in the back. And if Pam is gonna talk about ya make sure the customer can't hear it or wait until they leave. Everyone in line in front and the 1 person behind me all got told no there stuff wasn't there even though their papers all said to go get it after a certain time. Elmwood Park has absolutely the worst US Postal Office! Carriers do not deliver mail on time and sometimes do not deliver at all. Mail is missing regularly, I've had checks stolen from my PO Box and my packages are always late and the mail carrier always states online that they could not access the property to deliver! I have a house with an entrance from the street! I've made numerous complaints but nothing changes. Bad review because they lost a certified package that was very important from my work that I was mailing out to send to corporate office. I had to pay a massive fee to cancel for what I had in that package not only to this day I have no Idea as to were it is. The tracking was completely lost the employee (manager) couldn't help whatsoever I called customer service and even they had no Idea as to were my package was. This is by far the most incompetent group of individuals out of the many post offices I visit in the Chicagoland area. Most of them are rude and cannot handle money. Also, they are notorious for making you stand in line for 30 minutes, while they take their time with each customer only to find out there aren't any stamps---at a POST OFFICE! OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK! This is the worst post office EVER. Professionalism and customer service is non-existent. I have file numerous complaints for receiving wet mail because the delivery person is too lazy to close the freaking mailbox lid and delivery people lying about attempting to deliver packages when clearly I'm at home (WITH WORKING DOOR BELLS!). Just recently I filed a formal complaint (again) because I received a delivery attempt email notice on Sunday (order transferred to USPS from UPS) at 3:34pm, indicating that a delivery attempt was made at 3:13pm. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I was home cooking dinner, with the Front and Side Doors open. There was no delivery attempt notice left. When I called Monday morning to file the "blatant lie" complaint, I was told that my package would be redelivered on Tuesday. Well my package was delivered on Monday afternoon and the packaging tape had been cut so that the entire package was open and very visible. I believe this was done intentionally because I filed the complaint and maybe someone was reprimanded. Soooo, I called again to add the package issue to the existing complaint. I don't think that the other review was fair, don't know about the mail processing, but the staff is always helpful . If you need more tape to secure your package they will let you use their mailing tape for FREE and gladly. Everywhere else they made me purchase a pack of tape regardless of how much I needed(the tape was mine to keep of course, but for how much $$$...).So that is for the post office clerks... We had the same problem with the mailman though, but it seems to be the sub that does that kind of "every other day" mail. read more

The worst customer service experience ever! Was a receiving a package for Christmas through them, tracking number claimed delivered but I been at my door ALL DAY! No one showed, after a 45min wait with customer service support I'm finalized to go to my local post office (them) and speak with a supervisor. I've lived in Elmwood Park most of my adult life, and they must have one of the worst postal offices in the country. Consistently getting other people's mail, so where's mine going?? Have lived at my current address for 8 years, yet STILL getting mail from the previous resident, even though I've told them a dozen times that they no longer live here. Just waiting for the day my credit rating gets shot after they fail to deliver one of my credit card statements and force ALL my cards to 20% plus interest rates. This place is one of the most horrible business places you can go to! These employees are so rude they will give you impression you should be glad you are actually served at all! Ive been there many times and they never EVER smile or are polite, but today actually my today's experience makes me write. .. my insured package was sent to completely different location 10 days ago and since 6 days its been there (as I can follow tracks through tracking #) I called and asked for supervisor/manager of this location (since my package was sent from here) and asked for help. The supervisor was very irritated with me stating it's not in his post office so there is nothing he can do - so I helped him insinuating he can call that location where my package was last sent, he put me on long hold and when he got back took my tracking number saying "if I find time today ill try to call there" (??????) Definitely the worst and rudest people! I wonder how is it possible that after all these horrible reviews those same people still work there! I guess government doesn't care how they treat people who actually pay their salaries. Incompetent! They don't even know their own regulations! They can just refuse to take your package without decent explanation. And when you ask them to show regulations, they refuse and say "Take it up with downtown office"! What kind of an argument is that?! Sharon just hates me personally, for God knows what reason? Her face changes the minute she sees me. Every time she picks on this or that detail in my mailing. Supervisor Diana Hernandez is horrible, rude, condescending and unprofessional. She does not know the first thing about "customer serving". They all cover for each other. What do you expect? This post office is a joke, and a bad one at that. Our mail is frequently delayed. The letter carriers are too lazy to put the mail into it's proper boxes, (we have a 3 flat), so they cram it all into the lowest box where it often gets soaked with rain. Trying to get a package delivered is a nightmare. Twice our carrier lied and indicated that two separate packages had been delivered, when in fact they were sitting on a shelf in the post office. The last time that I called this PO, (today), to ask a simple question about a package, I was told that they were "too busy" to answer my question because they "had to get their reports done"! I wish to God this country would wise-up and contract with a reliable carrier like UPS, DHL, Fedex, etc., and put these morons out of business. This is what happens when you give a bunch of lazy slugs, who feel that they are entitled to compensation without working for it, jobs where it is absolutely impossible to get fired. read more
