Get the wrong mail all the time. Go in and complain and falls on deaf ears

I've had pretty good service in person when I've come to send a package, but I have to say, they are either ignorant of how a telephone works or just plain apathetic. When the phone rings at your business, do you pick up or ignore it? Rhetorical question, proles. When I called to inquire as to why I haven't received any junk mail, requests for donations, political postcards, or flyers in the past 5 days (not to mention "real" mail) the phone rang about 90 times (twice), then was disconnected and replaced with a pulsing tone. On a normal business day. During business hours. Several of my neighbors and I have had no mail delivery in 5 days, and we would like to know why. This doesn't make them look like the efficient organization depicted in Miracle on 34th Street. If I were the boss of them, I'd give them a substandard review. read more

SLOW SLOW service. AVOID....Extremely unfriendly service they have 1-2 workers helping a Huge line. Terrible service. The workers there are so LAZY they don't want to assist you. A turtle could've helped me faster than them. Terrible I wasted 1 hour just to be helped in line. read more

I received notice on 4/29/16 that I got mail to pick up. On 4/30/16 I went there first time, waited for 40 min, they said that they can't find it, took my info(phone number, address) said they will call me, in 6 days I came back for the second time 5/5/16 same story, went to Hawaii, came back. Today 5/12/16 lady took my notice, came back in 15 min and said that they sent my package to return center since nobody showed up for 15 days. Told me to speak to supervisor. So I did. First of all correct me if I'm wrong its only 13 days since I got the notice, and I was there 2 times in that period. The supervisor lady said give me a moment, left and never came back. read more

The WORST. Wish I never asked the man about my green card. Asked him if he was sure I had to send my old one with the application back in order to get my new one. He didn't know what the fuck he was saying. He said yea he was sure but I could've kept my old one and just get a sticker . Not to mention they're so rude and helpless . They can't do shit right for you. read more

I used to like this post office until recently. The lines are very long, and there are only 1-2 rude people working. The rest are in the back laughing and sitting around. The last straw was today when I asked to borrow a piece of tape, and they said I had to buy the $4 tape as they can't give any to customers. This is why I will not use USPS anymore, and the fact that the agents are rude, and quite stupid. They will be out of business soon anyway. read more

"Reviewing" a post office seems kind of ridiculous but I just have to vent. The customer service here is awful. Just awful. I mean, it works. If you mail something it arrives. This is the first week of February 2014 and I recieve my mail every couple of days. The last time I received mail was Thursday 1-30-13 and not since. I have a package that should have been delivered on 1-31-13 and still no sign of it. I call the post office and the phone rings and rings then cuts off. This is horrible service. I go to this post office numerous of times and the window clerks are always professional and courteous. Sure, sometimes the lines are long but so are lines at banks, grocery stores and airports. These are hard working people. I commend them. read more

I really didn't want to give any stars to this location!! It seems like everyone reviewing agrees on everything and specifically on one lady, her name is sheena. She is always there, always rude, lack of customer service, never greets anyone she helps or enters the door, belittles and berates people, talking to them like they are incompetent or do not speak English, talks very loudly when we are inches away and refuses to give us options. This happens with every visit or there is always something. I completely understand that they deal with people everyday about packages and problems or whatnot but that should not justify how you treat other customers. For example, yesterday I went to mail two packages to California, mostly clothes and presents for friends. I taped the boxes all over and couldn't find the slip to tape it on to write the address so I'll just ask at the counter. While I was waiting in line, person in front of me was being belittled by sheena, poor girl kept getting shouted at like she didn't comprehend. It was my turn next and I hope to be helped by another cause there was this young girl name kayana which looked very nice but to my luck, I had the mean lady. I carried two boxes to her section and said I need an address slip and she said no, just write the address on the box, to and from with a loud tone in her voice. I responded can I just get a slip because the boxes are taped all over and the marker would not show over the tape. She refuses to give me any slip and showed me where to write so I hAve to make it work in the tiniest space. I didn't even want to argue so I just tried my best and thinking my package is definitely going to be lost through shipment:/ so I stepped to the side so she can berate another customer, I continue to write and not help to hear the lady asking, do you have forever stamps here? The mean lady responded all we have here is forever really rude and loud. She then proceeds to ask for twenty and paying with a credit card that isn't signed but was willing to show Id and other documentation and said she used the card here before. I don't know about policies or accepting forms of payment but sheena just threw the card back to the lady and said have a nice day and then shouted next!!! That was so rude, instead of asking for another form of pAyment or trying to help the poor lady, she just pushed her aside, ugh. The lady was so upset and just left. Back to me, processed my order and I ran out of there fastest as I can, I hate that place. They need customer service training 101, I don't care if you have been working there for 30+ years sitting on your behind, treat people with respect. read more

The worst post office ever! Whoever is managing that one should be fire! There is never enough people at the windows. Especially in the morning. Sometimes there is one very obese clerk who can barely move on duty, than there is quick one who only shows you how to use a stamp machine or find your pick up and there is that manager who will come from time to time as she hears customer complaining about a long wait and she will chearfully anonse they to not have enough people to work and she can not do nothing about, that she ask a lot off time for more people. Meanwhile YOU DO HEAR A LOT OF CLERKS IN THE BACK....doing what? There is a lot of clerks working there but... they never at the same time serving... only one or two. So buzy post office and they can not open more station. Do not go there, you may end up standing at line 1 hour or 2. I quit going there, I do not have nerve. read more

There is something wrong at this location. I had a package mailed to me with an expensive part in it. After waiting several days past the due date I finally received a missed delivery notice in my mailbox. It had already been signed by someone who (badly) forged my signature. I live alone, so it wasn't my wife or roommate. I took the notice to this post office and was told that they had no idea where the package was. I waited in the parking lot and intercepted every letter carrier coming back from their route to see if they were the ones responsible for my missing package. After about 45 minutes I found the one and asked her where my package was. She went inside and "looked for it" but didn't find it. She said she didn't know what else to do. Huh??? I found another manager and told him what had happened and showed him the forged missed delivery slip. He went and looked and, lo and behold, found the package. He gave it to me with no explanation or curiosity about the forged package slip. Now, I am waiting on another package that was misrouted to the wrong Chicago post office (so I am told) TWO WEEKS AGO. I checked online this morning to see what the deal was with the package and the USPS tracking said that it had been forwarded to another address. Since I do not have a forwarding order for my house, I went to the office to see what was going on. She looked for it and then said she didn't know where it was. She filled out a claim for me and gave me the number to the manager who was supposed to get to the bottom of it and call me. (Turns out the phone number was disconnected) I found a different phone number and called later in the day and got the manager, who interrupted me mid-sentence to put me on hold. After fifteen minutes on hold, I gave up. I will call again later and probably have to go there in person AGAIN. read more

Worst possible place. I NEVER get mail and when I do it is after 8pm! Packages that I pay extra for delivery are not getting delivered!

Often the mail doesn't come (for days, and when I am expecting mail). The mail man has not picked up letters to be sent out, even when he walked up to deliver a package. We get the neighbors mail quite frequently, and I surmise they get ours as well as often mail I expect is returned to sender. Still waiting on a priority letter sent out a week ago, but I am sure it is on its way back to the sender. Forget about calling the office, and if you go there plan on a long wait. But the cashier was nice, so I guess the one star can go to him. read more

I don't usually like to leave bad reviews but this place needs to be consistent! I went there just to get a tracking # for a priority flat rate envelope that I had already paid for.  Lady didn't know what she had to do w/ the package and went to the back to ask her supervisor.  She returns only to tell me that I had to pay EXTRA to send it out.  I ask, why do I have to pay extra? She said, because the date was from the day before.  I've been there many times on sending out flat rate envelopes and not once did they say, I had to pay EXTRA! There was one time where the date was posted on a Friday's date and I went there on a Monday to receive a tracking #. That's ridiculous!! If I already paid the flat rate that includes tracking/insured there's no need to pay EXTRA! It doesn't matter if it was post marked the day before, if I'm the one sending out the package and I don't mind it why should it matter?! Besides, the proof would be on the receipt you give me if ever there comes a problem w/ the package or the time frame of it! The supervisor didn't even bothered coming out of her shell to speak to me.  I went to a different P.O. and guess what?! They didn't charge me EXTRA!! place is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!! people are so bitter if they are not going to be friendly or work know how to work under pressure they should find a job where they don't deal with people. This post office is the worst location. The 'supervisor' didn't know how a domestic claim is processed at all.

This branch of the USPS stinks, and I go out of my way to go to another branch on Kedzie. It's sad because this is the closest one to me, and it would save me so much time if I didn't feel like I was going to go crazy every time I go here. They never have enough people working here, I am always in line at least 20 minutes minimum, and lots of nutty people come in and yell at the poor postal workers behind the counter holding everyone up. One guy had a 15 minute argument with one of the 2 people working behind the counter about the fact that his letter going to another country was held up in customs and he didn't understand, this is ridiculous, why aren't you doing your job, etc. The postal worker just tried to say, we aren't customs and I can't really do anything, but the guy wouldn't listen or leave. I finally got so frustrated, I left. Or people that don't pack their parcels correctly and hold up the whole line. On top of that, if there are 2 workers working (which is rare), guaranteed there will be a computer malfunction or one of the workers is slower than molasses in january, or both. If the computer breaks down then both the employees sit there trying to fix it instead of one person hustling to get customers taken care of. If there is one person working, which is often, they are sooooooo slooooow. They could fix some of this if they at least had an automated postage machine, but they don't. As I ship frequently for my business, I don't have time for this kind of nonsense. I suggest going elsewhere. read more

To be avoided...UPS likes to send small packages through USPS. Since USPS has a licenced monopoly on small packages. So sometimes I'm forced to have this "professional place of business" handle my packages at times. It's a pretend business. They would've been out of business along time ago otherwise. I get mail from these guys twice a week if I'm lucky. So many items go "out for delivery" and the postman doesn't come for the next couple of days. Alot of stuff I order gets lost this way. The people working there don't care and are rude of course. ("How dare I bother them?" Attitude) It's one of those places where everyone does just enough to not lose their job.
