But as far as Post Offices go, this one is just like any other you've visited in the past four decades: outdated, inefficient, long lines, etc. etc. etc. On a recent visit, I was there for over an hour and had to stand in line TWICE to get something mailed. Honestly, it was ridiculous. I had tried to use the self-service machine in the lobby which, while still utilizing technology from the 1980s, is still usually a more efficient way to send a package. When the machine malfunctioned, I stood in a long line to try to send it at the counter; but instead the ONE person working there informed me she would send a manager out to fix it since my package wasn't pre-addressed. (I had been planning to print out the address on the label at the machine....argggghhhh.) I waited about 10 minutes for the manager to come fix the machine. When he finally arrived (looking annoyed), he announced he couldn't fix it. So I had to GET BACK IN LINE for another 20 minutes (and bum a pen off of another patron) to finally mail my package. Really, this whole thing should have taken no more than 10 minutes. Anyway, the USPS is what it is. My package arrived safely and I guess that's all that really matters. But seriously, if this isn't an example of an inefficient business model I don't know what is!

His car was paid off so they ended up totaling it and he's now navigating the process of paperwork. He was unsure how to fill out his paperwork, and I guess brought the papers into the notary blank. She very kindly helped him through the process of filling out the paperwork, getting it notarized and getting it mailed off. I appreciate her kindness immensely and wanted to make sure it was acknowledged. My dads words: "Everything went well... The person was very nice and experienced... Explained everything and helped me fill out papers... The lady helping me was the Notary and knew all about what I had to do... She even knew how the mailing label was supposed to work... I was happy with the service..." So if anyone is looking for a notary on island this sounds like the lady you want to have helping you!

This includes a time a few months ago when I went in and was particularly down that day. One of the post office workers had a tiny Mickey and Minnie mouse at their station. They made me laugh and smile. The post master happened to come up while we were talking about how much those tiny little toys changed my mood. To my surprise, they gave them to me! It really made my day. Now i have tiny little Minnie and Mickey at my desk to make me smile when I start to get stressed. Girl didn't seem like she knew how to do her job and was VERY rude from the moment I walked in. So I'm currently out 100 dollars and didn't get my keys. Don't ever use this post office. The workers don't deserve a job there.
