The last couple of times that I went in and asked for a post mark on an envelope I wanted to mail that day, the lady at the counter insisted that she had to charge me for the post mark stamp. I went home and called customer service. They confirmed post mark stamps are FREE. Today I went to send my tax payment and asked for a postmark - the same lady argued that she could not do it unless she charged me. I don't like to cause a scene, but I insisted that she do it anyway. She kept trying to give me a certified mail form. I visited the Duvall post office after moving there in January. The rude clerk behind the counter said USPS would not deliver mail to my house. She wouldn't explain why and walked away. I returned later asking to speak with the postmaster. She refused tell me his name, so I politely refused to leave. She then said he was sometimes available at 1 pm. I finally caught him days later. His wacky explanation made no sense so, months later, I wrote to the city. Just recently, Public Works told me to speak with Duvall's NEWLY ARRIVED postmaster. I was totally shocked when I did! I sent a package to Salem, OR on 12/30, and these idiots sent it to New Jersey where it's still in transit. On the same day, I sent a separate package to the SAME ADDRESS, and it arrived 2 days ago. I tried calling USPS in Duvall and the number shown gives me a busy ring and sometimes a Fax ring. I called the 1-800 number, and their AI sent me in circles - I responded, "to speak with an agent," it asks "what is this about?" I reply "about a package", it replies, "I didn't catch that - can you tell me what you're calling about" and then this just goes in a circle! Then I said "to speak to a real person" - same issue. When I finally broke the pattern and it gave me some options, it did not give me an option to speak with someone - more AI B/S. Exactly why are we funding the USPS when it can't even provide the simplest request? Ridiculous! read more

Mostly reviewing to let people know that if you have a P.O. Box because they won't deliver to your house, you are entitled to a FREE P.O. Box. The main (grumpy) lady who works here will say you aren't, but if you don't get your own mailbox by your home because you live too close to the post office, you are given a free P.O. Box. Contact USPS address management: 253-214-1765 I would love to have mail delivered to me by my house or on my same street that my neighbors get mail, but they won't do it and I'm forced to come into this post office and regularly interact with this woman who acts personally offended and so annoyed when you need your packages. I saw someone in to pay for their P.O. Box and they live even closer to the post office and have been paying for YEARS. Find out if yours should be free. I have had an absolutely horrible experience with the lady who is at the counter every time I go there she is so incredibly rude to me for no reason at all. I've never been anything but kind and asked a question or two today. I came to send a package With my baby in toe who was unfortunately crying most of the visit and instead of showing any kindness or understanding this lady is at this point bullying me. today I was not aware that you had to collect a signature upon delivery for over $500 in insurance. And she was angry at me for not knowing this. I was trying to insure an amount of over 600 and I explained that the seller I'm sending my package back to specifically requested to not select the signature service. And she treated me like I was dumb was mean and argumentative. I said to her I'm sorry I'm not sure why you're irritated with me. I just didn't know these things and instead of offering any suggestions or help at all left it all to me and just mean mugged me instead. At this point, she knew I could not do the signature service and so I I asked if I could insure it for less like the $500 she said again as rude as she could be said no it has to be under and just stares at me at this point Why would you not say well you could do 499.99? But I asked OK can I do 499.99? she then stops even speaking to me only wrote 499 and as I'm checking out the am I satisfied with service happy or mad faces options pop up she reaches over the counter and select the happy face before I could get to it and doesn't look at me or speak to me until I leave. I have no idea what she has against me personally I hear how she is with other customers before and after me, she's certainly not friendly, but nowhere near is rude as she is to me every time I come in I am very conscious of my tone of voice and my facial expressions. At this point, the clerk at this location has stolen money, gave me a key for someone else's mailbox, and still has not fixed the original issue. The clerk in question is about 55 between 160 and 200 pounds with dark curly hair and dark eyes. I believe her name is Jamie. She says she is the only clerk at the Duvall Washington post office. She is very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I have no idea how she still has a job. There needs to be a negative star option for this place specifically. My father recently passed away and I am dealing with his estate. I turned in his old key because it was no longer working and tried to order a replacement key for his PO Box. He has had the same PO Box for about 50 years. The clerk ordered keys for a mailbox that was not his and has since tried to blame me on 3 separate occasions for her mistake. She has given every excuse she can think of and still has not re-ordered the keys for the proper mailbox even going so far as to give me the replacement keys for a mailbox that was not mine to access. if I were a terrible person, I could've stolen somebody's mail. That's how incompetent this clerk is. And it was my fault because I didn't look at the receipt that she gave me closely enough to make sure that she had rung it up under the proper mailbox. It is her job to make sure that she doesn't bring up the wrong account. After allowing me to grab mail for my father multiple times now she is telling me that I have to bring in estate paperwork to prove that I have the authority to get his mail. This was never an issue any of the other times that I have gone in to pick up his mail for the estate. It is only now that she has made this many errors that she is asking for that paperwork. Do not get a mailbox here go to any other post office. Today I still have not received either a refund or a key to the mailbox that I have paid a year for to make sure that this estate is handled properly. She also took my ID and never gave it back, when I tried to call to see if it was still there no one answered the phone. read more

In the nearly 7 years that I've lived in Duvall, this post office has lost more than a handful of packages, makes the customer feel like it's their fault the package is lost, and you get no explanation as to why it's missing. Every time I go to the physical post office, there's at least two other people there complaining about similar things. How has this not been addressed for so long? The post office has lost expensive things, handmade things, gifts from my mother who I haven't seen in years. I frequently get mail addressed to a house with the same house number but different street, and they get ours. This happens so often that we know each other very well now. I have never experienced a post office like this before, never have I heard so many people have the same complaints and for those complaints to continue for YEARS. Really disappointing. read more

I never leave reviews, but I am so frustrated. Twice now I have had "Sorry we missed you" notices left in our mailbox. Two problems with that: 1) I work from home and am always here, and specifically here on the days they claim to have missed me. 2) I have ring doorbell cameras at every entry to my house, so there would be video of them attempting to deliver...if they had. A more likely story is that I have a winding uphill driveway, and the delivery person did not feel like driving or walking up the hill, so they just lied and left this notice in the mailbox at the base of the drive. I mean come on...if you had actually come up to the house and tried to make the delivery, there would be video AND, wouldn't the "missed you" notice be on the door instead of in the the mailbox back at the street. This person needs to have their behavior corrected, or fired. I need a zero stars option. read more

They are just the worst. It's a perfect example of everything that bad about the postal system. Many of the employees have been there well over 10 years, but you would never know it by their competence, or lack thereof. Theyve lost numerous packages of mine, and picking up is always an adventure. They seem to have little or no knowledge of the tools and apps the USPO provides the customer. I am often given a pkg p/u notice only to find it would have easily fit in my box. The carrier wont drive in and drop packages, despite the driveway being next to the box. I have often seen customers lined up out the door 10-12 deep and despite there being numerous additional staff only one clerk will run the counter. Patch the potholes in the parking lot! I would rate the duvall po a zero if I could, staff ( a single person at the desk) is ok while you hear others in the back laughing etc, rarely more than one at the front desk when 2 are needed with lines out the door. The tracking shows a delivery "attempt" on December 9th with the following message, "We could not access the delivery location to deliver your package at 6:31 am on December 9, 2022 in DUVALL, WA 98019. We will redeliver on the next delivery day. No action needed. " Well today is January 3rd and they still have not delivered it! These people are thieves! Where to begin... I get other people's mail on a regular basis, so who's getting mine? Packages left on the lawn or thrown at the door so they don't have to get out of the truck. Packages that show as delivered, but never arrive. "Delivery attempted", nope I was sitting at the front window and watched you drive by. My favorite is "signature required" items left in the mailbox unsecured. Sorriest excuse for mail delivery ever. It's incredible to see the level of entitlement of some of these users, who have gotten way to spoiled by the likes of Amazon Prime. It's amazing to see these postal workers at work, regardless of the weather or the roads, they get your mail on time. There may be blunders during the sorting process (for crying out loud, the massive volume of mail is no joke!), but there are in the very low numbers and too infrequent. so for once, give them the respect they deserve, my admiration and gratitude goes high for this post office. read more

I have NEVER had prompt, friendly or efficient service with this post office. They regularly mis-deliver packages, refuse delivery of packages, and lose packages. I try to avoid using the USPS locally as much as possible. The staff seem overworked and bitter. Like another reviewer, I was told an Amazon one-day shipping ($20 extra!) order was attempted to be delivered. It wasn't. I was home all morning and afternoon. Worse, the USPS tracking report says delivery was attempted and notice left at 8:37am. I checked my mailbox at 10:30am and it was empty. Sometime between 10:30am and 2:05pm the notice was delivered. But the tracking entry was made at 8:37am, so clearly the delivery was not attempted, the package probably never made it in a truck. Living rurally I would expect my local rural post office to be more careful with live animals they receive in the mail. What they are supposed to do when receiving a live box of freshly hatched chicks is call the recipient immediately, instead this morning they didn't call at all, and I had to call them to find out it was just sitting on a table cold somewhere. When I called the office and talked to the postmaster she said hey that's our protocol. That is not the protocol communicated by the Hatchery sending them and that is not my experience of chick picking up chicks from the post office in the past. My advice is that if you have live animals shipped via USPS that you track it very closely and you call the post office before they open multiple times until they actually pick up the phone and then confirm that your animals are there and go pick them up immediately otherwise they will just leave them sitting out with no care. read more

We have lived here for approx 30 years. One thing I don't like is when they say they tried to deliver something and they absolutely did not ! When your at the house all day and they did not come, when the Amazon text says they literally were at your door less than a minute ago and your sitting right there. Oh. Funny. That was then. Today I got a last notice of trying to deliver something that needed to be signed for they said they tried to deliver it on may 30. No notice was left. I check the mail myself every day. The people that work at the post office are wonderful and very friendly. However The delivery person(s) haven't 't been able to get things right in the over 6 yrs I've been at this house. Despite complaints to the point of a supervisor coming out it remains the same. I get other peoples mail daily and wonder where mine ends up. I personally delivered mail and packages that belonged several blocks away including one time actually catching up with the guy and showing him where he delivered it and it was almost a mile from where it was supposed to be. One time a package were prescriptions for a chid the family had delivered and our names or address weren't at all close. That could have been disastrous. I was almost seriously hit from the side in my car because they didn't stop at the stop sign in front of my house and it was raining and I slid and spun in my car to avoid being hit and I almost hit the stop sign he was supposed to stop at OMG! And they didn't even stop and say sorry even though the neighborhood boxes are at the edge of my yard. This week my son waited for his overnight delivery and a week later we don't have it. It's sitting at the post office we finally found out. Signature was required and he waited not only all day, but all week as he was house sitting for me. It's his wallet that was accidentally left in his brothers car so he overnighted it with signature required which cost a lot!. They say they tried to deliver it but no one ever knocked we have a LOUD dog that let's us know lol and he sat close to front door all day to make sure he didn't miss it knowing how it is. It sad really. He needed his wallet to have money of course but to renew his license before his birthday now he has to pay a fee he shouldn't have to pay. I guess we have to get a mailbox at one of those private pay places which again we shouldnt have to but too much important mail and packages have just never showed up. Someone out there is enjoying our orders from Amazon etc especially at Xmas. What a shame. It's been the same 2 people all these years and they still have the route despite numerous complaints from Neighbors. Disappointing to say the least. So off to the Post Office once again to file yet another complaint and finally get the almost 20 dollar delivery fee package. A waste of money and time. :( read more

The people at the counter don't know a lot about what they are doing, can't find things for transactions which makes for long line waits. The number to call them at doesn't go through, so why do the tax payers pay for this service???!! Cut the phone line and save some money! Trump should know and take care of this. This is the last straw! This place has fallen apart. Not what it once was. I have had time sensitive mail delivered past its due date. Causing me thousands of dollars!! I have had packages delivered a month late because they couldn't "figure out the P.O. box" simply because it was missing the periods between P&O. Apparently "PO 1234" is confusing for them. Even with a name listed they still couldn't figure it out. I have also been told, if the sender of a package wont accept a P.O. Box, to put your physical address and forward slash your P.O. Box # Apparently "12345/1234 Alphabet St. Duvall, WA" is confusing for them as well. NO OTHER OFFICE DOES THIS!! Either you guys are lying to me, or just plain stupid!! Most likely both. The Duvall Post Office (specifically, my local carrier) lost four of my parcels in the last month. None of them were recovered or replaced by the post office. I was lucky that two of the items were shipped again for free, from the sellers. It was determined that the likely issue was that the keys for the drop box for receiving parcels were placed in the wrong mail box. This means someone else received my parcels and did not turn them into the post office for re-delivery. The issue was looked into to identify the cause, but the remedy was never really addressed. If things change, I'll revise this review, accordingly, in the future. read more

Received a text notification telling me that my item was being held at the Duvall post office at my request. Interesting since I never did request that. I have purchased several items from this sender and they have all been delivered to me at my residence. I go to the post office to get my item. Immediately met with attitude, which made no sense since I did not bring one with me, wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt first. I informed the lady that I got notified my item was here being held at my request and asked why it was since I never asked for that. She snapped at me and told me that's the only option the driver has to select (your telling me the ONLY option the driver has to select is "hold at post office per customer request", there isn't a "delivered" option?) and that she will need to look for the item. She comes back after about 5 minutes, asks me if I receive regular mail at "my" residence? I said yes. After searching for another few minutes, she then asks for the tracking#, which I though was odd it was the first time she was asking fort it, and I provided it to her. She gasped and said "agh that's international" and walked off. Took another 5 minutes then she came back and said the driver still has the item. I asked then why was I notified the item was here being held at my request? She wasn't able to answer that and said they would call me when the driver gets back. Why are people and companies not holding themselves accountable for mistakes? Why don't you just admit that you lost my item while only being less then a mile away from my home instead of copping out and saying the driver has it. If I would've received an apology and was told we will do what we can to make this right, then maybe you'd get 2 stars. I know other people have had problems, but our mail person is the best. We have never had a late package, and our packages are left on the porch despite the fact that our house is at the top of a long steep driveway. Our postmaster is also amazing! When a package I sent to my nephew in Vacaville CA was lost there for over a month after traveling to Vacaville, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Fairfield and then back to Vacaville where it was scanned last. I called so many places, filed a report etc. and nobody helped me. I was finally directed to call the postmaster in Duvall, even though it had nothing to do with him and he said he would try to help me. He gave me his personal cell phone number in order to reach him...and he found my package within 2 days! 2 days later it was back in Duvall, but had been crushed when found in Vacaville. After I repackaged, he sent it back to Vacaville for me, no charge! I was so impressed and very grateful for his help. read more

Always delivering mail to wrong address is bad enough but, when I pay for 2 day shipping as a Amazon prime member the post office is under contract to deliver on time. When I have sat home all day to receive multiple packages and received package from fed ex. I also received my UPS package. But at 530pm I received a message from Amazon that delivery was attempted but unable to deliver at 1230 I call B.S. tired of the post office lying to cover their butt! This post office is a joke, and I'm surprised that there is not more internal audits happening there. Not one single time our packages are delivered on time as planned.
