Not alot to like about this post office, its very small, cramped and dilapidated. The staff were fine and proficient at the counter; but flaky equipment (scanner on the fritz, e-pad not working) plagued transactions. Regarding COVID protocol, I didnt see anything being done besides the staff wearing masks and 6ft markings on the floor. And many Monrovians dont understand or care about their neighbors that the POBox area is a public space and masks are to be worn - 4 people came and went while I was in there prepping a box, none with masks. I haven't had a poor experience at any USPS office until I moved to Monroe and visited this office downtown. I have had trouble processing a mail forwarding request and it's been over 3 weeks. I submitted my original request online and decided to go in person to help get my issue resolved. Now the wait time is not bad , but man the lady at the front rolled her eyes at me and got upset that she had to take out her headphones out of her ears to help me. She couldn't answer my questions and had me fill out a paper application, she gave me no confirmation number and threw my application a pile . The ladies name started when a "J". I really doubt my issue is resolved and I plan to drive to woodinville or kenmore for better service. And in terms of covid and all that jazz, they are not changing out clean pens or wiping down the counters between customers maybe it's not something this office is doing but I have seen many places of business at least make customers use clean pens. This post office has become the worse post office I ever had to experience so far. Mail gets delivered days late and late nights for the last 2-3 weeks. Just last night my package I have been waiting for that required a signature was never dropped off I waited until 10 pm. My mail box is far from my home so when the mail carrier came by they did not come and knock the door, but made out a card to say they said they missed us and 9:52pm. Due to this being a Friday night, the next day for pick up at the post office is Saturday which they are closed. I have been living here for 9 yrs now and the past 2-3 weeks they have been awful. read more

I scheduled a pick up for a couple of packages. All day passes and I'm starting to get worried because no one is picking them up. Then I get an email at 8:13 saying they've been picked up... no they haven't. I left them out there until 10:30pm just to be sure, but no one ever came. This was a timed package that had to go out that day or I would be charged hundreds of dollars. My mistake to trust the postal service. I tried calling the next day to see what happened (after dropping my packages off in person at the Mineral Springs location where the man was super helpful), but it would ring and ring before going to a busy signal. I tried calling almost a dozen times throughout the day, always with the same result. Do not trust this post office to pick up your packages... or answer the phone. read more

Customer service is nonexistent. You ask for the manager to file a complaint, a guy not wearing a name tag or a visible badge comes up and gives you some half hearted "I'll talk with them" dosent even write down anything your saying. Would not recommend to anyone who has anything important to get out. Expect long waits with no help. read more

The Burien post office is my neighborhood place to send multiple packages around the world. I am in there at least once a month with packages fir my college age kids too. Michael, Lynn, Dorothy, Huynh... all of the front office reps are so helpful and friendly. They have to deal with some pretty hectic lines and they do it with grace! read more

If I could give this post office a minus 2 stars, I would. Postal carriers never delivers important mail. I've been waiting since May 2021 for my notice to renew my car tags - that never came. Ordered N95 masks which never came, so the sender sent another order via UPS. Never received my 2021 tax information. Mailed medicine fails to show up for 3 months. Postal carrier usually dumps all my neighbors' mail into my box, then I have to sort and deliver throughout the neighborhood. Workers at the Post Office act like they don't want to be there. We have been trying for weeks to get our mail delivery straightened out without success. Every time I have submitted paperwork they lose it and I have to start over again. Multiple times I have come to the counter to get our mail and they don't know where it is. Since we moved to Monroe in October we are still missing mail. I filled out paperwork, brought several forms of us and proof of address and was given a key with a number on it but no other number for a box, so I used the number on the key. Apparently that's not the correct number, but again they can't find my paperwork so I'm starting all over again, many hours standing in line. I'm considering using the snohomish usps instead, it would be worth the drive if we would actually be able to get our mail which includes checks and medications. read more

Passport lady! She will say that you're child's passport photo is too big but she is 0/2. Both my child's photos she said were too big but not according to the US government, they said they were fine. In summary, she loves saying no but understand she is wrong. Just saw carrier drive by my house at 7:25pm, slow down, and then speed off. I was supposed to have an Amazon package delivered by 8pm. 20 minutes later I received a text alert that package was being held at PO per "customer request". I am continually amazed by this PO and the shady things that go on. This is why I pay twice as much to use UPS; however, when I am getting packages delivered to me I have no choice. read more

This is literally the worst usps office I've ever dealt with. On multiple occasions I've dealt with the rudeness/ laziness of this office. They've lost packages, refused to give me my packages, and been generally rude and defensive whenever i enter. I arrive with a smile and understanding and leave upset and near to tears. It's gotten to the point i contacted amazon to request to never have my packages delivered by the usps. I would rather pay for faster shipping, not because i need it sooner but because i dont have to deal with this office. Ive even spoken to the post master general and only recieved excuses. Someone needs to fire their entire staff and find a manager that cares about their cuatomers. read more

It's a post office... I don't expect much. But, the wait is usually long, the service sub par and sometimes snappy, and one time I was in they didn't have rolls of stamps. It would be helpful to put in a postage kiosk so people don't have to wait in long lines for simple postage. read more

This is a typical post office for a small town. There's nothing wrong with it, but there do seem to be far too few counters for a city the size of Monroe. I can imagine that at certain times of day the lines must be terrible. No complaints, but it's probably time for a remodel. read more

The third package I mailed was returned to me as a result of a mishap in the Monroe office. After the second return, I used the Duvall office. No returns or mishaps at all. I gave Monroe another chance and the postage stamp affixed to the large flat rate box apparently fell off of the box and was returned to me due to 'Lack of postage'. When I called to ask if my carrier could take the box with my receipt, I was told by a worker that I had to bring it in and she added, ' I'm doing several things at once here and need to go'. Well, that gives one explanation for their problems. Clearly there is a problem in that office that needs to be addressed. Was expecting a package on Thursday, 2/14 - while sitting at home, got a notification that "delivery was attempted, no access" interesting, because a similar package had been delivered the day before, and other mail was being delivered. Now, package is being held at post office, "per customer request" I did not request it to be held, will now be out of town for four days - and post office is closed - hopefully, it will still be "held" and not returned to sender. I've had good experiences at the Monroe post office, the only negative I have is how small the building Is and the lack of parking.

This post office struggles with the basics. We have PO BOX and we get incorrect notices for pickup (when package has already been delivered or picked up 2-3 days prior). Recently I found out they are sending mail back to a bank as 'undeliverable' for no reason. I really wish these guys would figure it out and/or hire properly to get the mail delivered correctly. read more

This post office loses our mail frequently. And we get other peoples mail in our box. I realize this will happen but at this post office it happens a lot! And it causes problems for us. I also agree that the lady that is usually the one behind the counter seems to hate her job and is often rude and snarky. I used to live in Mill Creek and they were so wonderful there. Horrible service! Letters sent to me have been returned to the sender and marked "undeliverable" even though the address was 100% accurate! Items shipped to me have been marked as "left in mailbox" days before I actually receive them (locked box). At least once a week, I get someone else's mail (completely different address). Several times, I have taken the other people's mail to the post office and explained the issue. The woman working there acts like I'm inconveniencing her and seems annoyed at me for pointing it out. The stupid ladies don't even speak English very well and are ALWAYS completely rude every time I go in there, they always have a bad attitude! and talk to me like i am stupid. I have lived in Monroe for 24 years DO NOT GO TO THIS POST OFFICE. I have had nothing but problems at this location. The WORST SERVICE POSSIBLE. They have lost a thousand dollars worth of my packages THIS YEAR ALONE. Every other time I go into this branch there is someone with a damaged or lost package that is not being helped. Unfortunately today I was one of those people. My most recent complaint is that I went in on Wednesday and paid next day mailing on a package that was extremely important with the contents being worth over 500$. It was delivered on Saturday. I asked if I could have the package sent back to me because it wasnt picked up because of its late arrival and the manager declined saying that it isn't their fault that the package was not picked up from the post office.. Even though it was supposed to be there on THURSDAY and I paid for it to be there on Thursday. I told the same manager that his branch has lost other packages, some worth almost the same amount and that they always give me this type of run around, He was extremely rude to me even though I was ASSURED by everyone working on Wednesday that my package would arrive hassle free. On the way out I let him know that I would be posting online about my experience with his branch and he THREATENED TO CALL THE POLICE IF HE EVER SAW ME AGAIN. Do not deal with this rural branch, if you want your packages to actually reach your destination use Fed ex, UPS or drive them where they need to go yourself, with the way this USPS branch handles their business you'll have better luck taking another option. I would trust a homeless man to deliver my packages more than this Monroe post office. read more
