Twice in the past month I've come late to drop off packages for my small business and the doors are completely locked. Both front and back. Don't advertise a service you can't offer. Has lousy hours for P.O. Box holders. Only accessible 43.5 hours a week when traffic is heavy. Access was restricted due to vagrants last winter, but they are apparently back to that now. Their fees need to come down if access is so restricted. read more

I have had my mail stolen and opened and the USPS wants me to pay to change my lock on the box in my complex. The customer service phone number is a robotic voice that leads you in circles and doesn't help at all. When will something be done about my horrible service from this vendor? I even went in person to the Falls Church post office to ask for help to stop this problem and was told that I have to pay for the lock to be changed on THEIR MAILBOX on the street. Very efficient and they are able to process packages and whatever other business you have there quickly and without a hitch. They're really friendly here if you need to go the counter but it can get crowded and it's pretty small inside. Parking seems to be abysmal but luckily I'll usually walk here. They have a 24 hour self serve machine if you don't need to visit the counter. read more

Falls Church USPS delivering 22042 Desparately Needs Improvement I started to write my review, focusing only on my complaint. But now that I have read the other reviews I see that the root cause is the Falls Church USPS has not reviewed any of the other complaints listed here on Yelp. My problem: I have to send a check for my COBRA payment every month to a business location in Falls Church VA. I need proof that the check is received because you cannot miss a COBRA payment otherwise you are kicked out and you no longer have medical/dental/vision coverage. In case the business loses the payment, I need proof that it was sent and received. The cost is $25.50 to guarantee deliery by 12noon the next day and receive a signature accepting the delivery. The Falls Church Postal Delivery person has delivered the letter twice without obtaining the signature. They leave the letter in a general mail room used by all businesses in the building. My USPS location has reimbursed me twice because Falls Church USPS has failed to obtain the requested signature. Giving me a refund does not SOLVE THE PROBLEM. Because I have received a refund and eventually the business finds the letter, I am unable to open a claim. However, I have spoken to someone at the Falls Church VA USPS. She spoke to me with the first failure and tried to excuse it by suggesting the form approved "signature waived" even though my receipt specifically shows "SIGNATURE REQUESTED". This time she remembered me and assured me she will alert the new Postmaster and again speak to the deliverer. I let her know I will need to do this again in May. But reading these other comments shows me the Falls Church USPS has a larger problem and they do not check YELP. read more

Award-winning laziness. I went to ship a small package last week, and didn't close it all the way so that I could put my return authorization in it just before shipping. It needed one piece of tape to close it, and they refused to give it to me, even though they had a whole roll at the desk. Said I needed to buy a whole roll. I brought it back home to tape, then returned a few days later. This time, they said my 2 lb package was going to be $26. I went online and it was clearly $11, and the teller chose only the most expensive means, said that was "the cheapest way". I think he was being a d*** because he recognized me from the first trip. I have been at this post office several times, and I have never received good service. It is no wonder the U.S. postal system is losing money. read more

Normally, I would consider giving at least 4 star if I got what I want at the end... but I gave it 3 star because of too many unanswered phones I made. I had to be there physically and just to learn what I needed was still not done (after a week) and I had to follow up again the next day. My boyfriend and I came in here to ship some tshirts out to support his brand. I believe "Miss Carrie" helped us and I might be spelling that wrong. But she was such a pleasure and helped us out so much. She organized all the packages and helped fold tshirts and stuff them into envelopes WITH us. Entirely incompetent. Had a package misdelivered here, and instead of forwarding it to my post office, they marked it "mailbox full," claimed they posted notice at the delivery address (in a different zip code, out of their delivery area, which they didn't do), and then sat on it for a week during which time multiple redelivery requests (scheduled both online and through the main USPS call line) were ignored. Was finally able to get shipper in contact with useful person at USPS central location (not this branch, which is impossible to contact) to have delivery refused and package sent back to point of origin. We'll see if that actually happens. read more

We lost our long-time mail carrier and now the one we have couldn't care less about what he's doing. He continually not only puts mail in the wrong mail boxes in our building but puts mail from other buildings in our mail boxes. I've spoken to him about this no less than three times. I was helped by a Ms. Tran (?) with a new passport application. She was quick, thorough, and friendly in handling the whole process including photo. We had no mail delivery on monday, may5th. Called on Tuesday to see why, the Postmistress said to call the Delivery Supervisor, so I did. The man who answered the call said he was just covering for the supervisor, (this was at noon on the 6th of May, and when I asked when the supervisor would be back, he said "tomorrow morning". The phone number listed here on Yelp is disconnected. The phone number that comes up on a Google search -- 703-237-0873 -- is a fax machine. The "Find a location" link on usps.gov just churns without opening a page. In another Google search, adding "phone" came up with 703-998-6826, which I called and it turns out that's the Bailey's Crossroads location. The guy who answered on the twelfth ring gave me the fax number again. When I told him that was a fax machine, he said try 703-237-0872. That was also a fax number. On patch.com, it has 703-237-2690, which just rang and rang. In the time it has taken to try to find a correct number, I could've driven the three miles to the branch to find out why held mail wasn't delivered like I requested online. read more

Very bad. There's this one old man that's always there, and he has extremely bad attitude. He barely speaks understands English, around me it seems, even though everyone else in the whole world understands me fine. Once I asked him where my package was, and he grunted, pushed himself away from the counter, and said angrily, " I don't know what. You. Are. Saying! Come help her!" To his manager, throwing up his hands and shaking his head like I was speaking Chinese at him or something. What a moron. Luckily the manager knew exactly what I was saying right away, like all do. I also had a problem with my mail service and looooong story short, it seems my mail carrier had decided that I didn't live at my house so he refused to deliver my mail! I was floored. I spoke with the supervisor, I think her name was Michelle, not sure, and she kept insisting that I didn't live at my own house! Whattt! Luckily I was able to convince her of the truth and she relented. I wish I could go to the one in merrifield, at least they have some sense. This one has none. They need to fire that nasty old man with the attitude of a starving tiger. Plus that mail carrier, with his wrongful assuming attitude. I missed a lot of important letters because of him. read more

Lobby is open 24 hours a day for automated mailing and retrieving mail from P.O. boxes.. but there has not been a pen on a chain available in YEARS so don't forget to bring your own. Don't count on the mail being processed the same day in any way that is deposited in the parcel or mail slots- they must go home early because the stated pickup times are not honored. This location does not answer phones, period. read more

Very rude staff member. Tried to file a complaint on the USPS web site but that was hopeless. They say you can send them an e-mail but it leads to a black hole. Come on US Govt. Get with the program. You need to upgrade your web site so people with concerns and complaints can let you know. I had a package that already had postage on it and wanted to know if I could leave it on the counter. He intentionally ignored my question even though I repeated it twice. Finally the woman acknowledged me and said I could leave my package on the counter. There is no reason to go to this post office. The Post Office in Merrifield is great and has great customer service. The Merrifield Post Office has a good number of postal service workers who are very helpful. It's definitely worth it to drive the extra few minutes to Merrifield. read more

it's just fine, most complaints are illegit. the place is easy to find... the building has giant flowers all over it. the parking is two level, if you can't find a space you're not looking. there are 6 personnel in the front at all times, the wait is NOT that long. i'm happy with the service, though i am not happy that we no longer have a SORTING FACILITY! that makes it harder on the staff at the retail office, those who give them a hard time are not being sympathetic to the situation. they're efficient, except for the carriers, their capacity is atrocious and i would like to see improvement with that. which means i guess i complain to the fairfax facility, wherever that is. read more
