I'm not sure why this post office has such a low rating, because it's my favorite! I used to exclusively go to the Lake Drive location, but it's just too small and crowded. The 3 Mile location is much larger, with a big parking lot that's easy to navigate. The past two times I've visited I've only had to wait a couple of minutes and my experience was quick and friendly. This location seems to be better staffed than the Lake Drive one, which is great since the Lake Drive location usually has a long line. The past two times I've visited here, there have been three people working, when I only ever see one or two people working at the Lake Drive post office. There is a drive-up mailbox outside this location which is much more convenient than the mailbox at Lake Drive since you have to park and get out of your car to access it. The parking lot is free here, but if it's full I'm not sure what your options are as I don't believe you can park on 3 Mile. I've never seen the parking lot full here, though. I will continue to use this post office as it's conveniently located, much less of a hassle to park and access, and has consistently been a quick and enjoyable experience. read more

Love this post office. Have used it almost exclusively for the past many, many years. Staff always been courteous and helpful; checking to find your most economical option before you even ask. Lots of parking in a very accessible location. Drive through box, inside drop off box for packages. Self serve scale if the counter isn't open, the lobby always is. It's quiet, clean and spacious. It seems a little funny rating a post office, but I guess why not? I have a business post office box here and use the outlet for mailing letters and small packages. I like that they have a machine that weighs, offers insurance and other options as well as dispensing postage. Very handy during hours the post office is closed. I must say that my experiences with the counter personnel have been much better than that at another sub station over at Eastown. Attitudes mean everything! Plenty of parking out front and a drive up mailbox for convenience. read more

Bunch of rude arses...asked a simple question and they had to make sure I felt like an idiot before answering.

In all the years I have been receiving mail via the U.S.P.S. I have never had worse deliveries than the past couple of years. I constantly receive other peoples mail (especially the same address the next block over) so wonder: how much mail addressed to me do I never receive? I've called, talked to the delivery person ( I am on a "training route" as I understand it so constantly have new delivery personnel ) and I've gone in to the office on 3 Mile Rd., and complained. Results? Service keeps getting worse. When I do place the mail back in the box where the delivery person can't help but see it they simply ignore it and walk away with it still in the box. What will it take to remedy this problem? A letter to the Post Master General? read more

I have been to the post office twice this week, a new record for me. No, long lines once on a Wednesday afternoon and the other at Saturday late morning. Friendly and they moved me through fast and still gave me key information on tracking my sent package. read more

This is the kind of small town post office (in a large city) that remembers who you are as a repeat customer. I must admit I had an irritating request. I had postal money order refunds needed for several hundred dollars. Rejected by Dead50! And then I had to get another money order in same transaction for a passport renewal. Well. First and foremost, mad props to everyone at this branch for being so nice and helpful. After moving from the Chicago area and having dealt with that mess, I mostly enjoy this branch. Of course, with all things, there are exceptions. After repeated incredibly insulting and rude incidents with Leann at this branch, I feel the need to say something publicly, as attempts to call a supervisor are never successful. I don't know where to start... Audible groans when I bring in packages that I've paid for through eBay. I have dropped items off in the past without scanning, and they've been lost. I now insist on having them scanned in and accepted when I drop them off. When I ask her to scan them and please give me a receipt, she will gasp, "There are how many?!" followed by rolling her eyes several times. I sold a large number of vintage coloring books and mailed them via Media Mail. I've been selling on eBay a long time and know all of the different regulations for each kind of mail service. She looked at me and dressed me down like a two year old, "Media Mail is only for books, DVDs, or CDs. It's illegal to send anything else. You can't ship these." I said, "They're coloring books; yes I can." "Well, they are too flimsy and don't feel like books. But if you say so. Whatever." I have also been told that I haven't placed my labels on my packages in the right way, the right spot, etc. I've been told I need to use larger packages, even when the packages meet guidelines. I've been told that I should not have used tape. I can never do anything right according to her, even though I know all of the guidelines and follow them. She has her own set of unspecified standards and expects people to meet them. I have asked her to please not speak to me in the rude accusatory manner that she does, but it persists. There was even one time when she saw me coming with my son and put the sucker jar back behind the counter where he couldn't reach it. I don't expect that my son should get a sucker each time, nor that there be suckers at all, but to go to that length is quite jaw dropping. I go here probably three times a week. I always hold my breath and plead with the universe to have her be on break or not there that day. I don't feel like I should get anxiety and need to psych myself up to go to the post office.
