Busy Tuesday afternoon with two people in line r with two mail cartons of business mail. Christine, the postal clerk, handled all customers patiently. No stamps needed, but I did need to mail a large envelope that required postage weighing. No extra services offered for faster delivery or tracking. This post office is conveniently located and normally offers faster service than the Crooked Hill Road post office. Both attendants left there post at 10:40 on a Friday and said the supervisor would help us, a man came out and said that he was groom Pittsburgh and was unable to help us, at this point there is 5 customers there. The man said the supervisor was out on "stress" leave and that the workers had rights to leave if they wanted to. Government workers entitled and with no accountability! This is the worst post office I have ever seen. A bunch of lazy ole pot smokers. I've been waiting for my mail for over two weeks now. and before that I was getting it like once a week. I had important legal docs coming and they never got here. I missed a court date. Then I switched insurance companies and I never got my cardIfs. I was thrown out of the hospital because I had no proof of insurance thanks to this post office. Complaining to an investigator is a waist of time. You still won't get your mail and they will still keep the worthless employees there. My friend who lives near me told me the same thing. She has serious health issues and this post office played with her health for the same reason. She never gets her mail either. She's been waiting for cards for one month now. They keep showing in her "informed delivery" but never in her mailbox. I called the post office many times. No one ever answers. People there do not care. They literally do not care. If you have a problem their attitude is "oh well". Just to let you know, this is a felony what they are doing. My neighbor went to Washington DC yesterday. Finally the lazy waste of space employees there will be fixed. Americans should no t have to go through this because someone is lazy. It's not a good place to work. The manager is rude, lazy and takes off early. He's real hard to work for so I'm told. I might start a petition against them. We are not the only ones they are doing this too. I might have to try to contact someone in Wash. DC myself. They more who contact them the better. They will take notice. read more

This post office is absolutely ridiculous.. For months I been going to pick up my mail because trying to be considerate and understanding about being short staffed but when our block is getting mail 2 times a month this has become out of control. So I did the same thing yesterday went uptown to the post office to complain again and to pick up my mail that's not being delivered just for a employee to tell me that they aren't allowed to give us our mail any longer and that mayb I should pay my bills online. Then the manager tony to get me to shut up lied to me and told me the mail would be there by the end of the day literally standing in my Face telling me he called the mail person to make sure they delivered it. Well by 5 pm no mail she ain't even show on our block. This is completely unacceptable. Then to tell me we have a regular carrier and still no mail delivered.. Yall have to do way better then this. They don't answer the phone they are very rude and definitely don't do their job. I will definitely be calling the corporate office today.. oh and to they disrespectful teller Chrissy I don't put my cards online because I was scammed out of 16,000$ So b4 u get to running your mouth disrespecting customers know they reason before you try to step out of your place. And mayb if y'all weren't standing around all day talking while customers wait to get help with inappropriate conversation mail would get delivered!!!! read more

I don't usually post yelp reviews but seeing that there is only negative feedback here I just wanted to give these guys a shout out. Obviously, like most, they are understaffed and overworked so there are occasionally minor issues. However, they will go above and beyond to get it straightened out. I imagine those who've such terrible experiences didn't have very to give would strike motivation. Common decency and a bit of patience can go a long way. read more

She did not let me speak at all, she had an attitude and she spoke to me like I was an idiot. My packages were to be held at this post office, checked confirmation number- tracked packages to this location and yet my packages are no where to be found. I spend alot I had of money, just to have my packages disappear. This is crazy. Twice I went into this post office to pick up packages. I live in an apartment bldg. needless to say, when I went for my packages they tried to give me someone else's packages that live in my bldg. My assumption is that they gave my packages to someone in my bldg. Not everyone is honest. I chose to pick my things up because of the theft problem at my residence. This is my very first yelp review. I recently moved and notified my local post office. They provided me with keys to my new mail box. None of the keys worked. I returned the keys to the post office. I was informed that they would have new keys cut for my new mail box and that they would hold all of my incoming mail sent to my old address. It seems that all of my incoming mail to my old address was sent back to the senders. Due to this very stupid issue my car and renter's insurance was cancelled. They did not hold any of my incoming mail. It was all sent back to the senders. I have moved several times in the last 25 years. I have never not stupid issues like these before. I have been in my new home for 3 weeks now and I am still waiting for all of my mail from the last 3 weeks. read more

Uptown post office in Harrisburg Pa is atrocious. They are rude and wont answer their phone. When I finally get someone to pick up, Im met with rudeness.This is after they have already lost multiple packages of mine. I waited TWO AND A HALF MONTHS for a mailbox key. I called a dozen times and was consistently blown off. The garbage service forced me to snap and turn into a bitch on the phone, which finally got things moving. I wish I'd decided to be mean months ago. read more

Incredibly rude service on the phone from someone who clearly seemed aggravated to have to answer the phone. I don't usually leave reviews. But the phone service and my first (and hopefully only visit) there in person (during which even in an empty office, staff seemed aggravated to have to answer my simple question) left me quite irritated. With all due respect to one of the previous posters, understaffing isn't an excuse for sighing and sucking your teeth on the phone. read more

I waited 2 months for a mailbox key from the uptown post office. The supervisor Jose was very rude almost like he worked in a prison. I told him I will be reporting him and I wanted his bosses number in which he (Jose ) replied I can have you escorted out and send your mail back.(which sending mail back after it has been received is a federal offense). I called the complaint line and emailed with no avail. I will continue to post on all different sites until I am answered. And I refuse to pay 15.00 for a key after wasting my gas to pick up mail everyday. Which he (Jose) told me I had to pay. This is not the first time I have witnessed his misconduct as a postal worker. On Jan 14th he became very rude to a woman after he yelled her full address out loud and she told him never to do that again and he was rude to her. I read and definitely believe the other complaints about the 7th Street Post Office in Uptown Harrisburg, since my experience was just as bad! I called 800-275-8777 which is the national USPS number today, and told the representative how I was treated last week by a very unpleasant, unhelpful woman, who is UNFIT to work with the public. When I entered post office, the customers were forced to wait 15-20 minutes in line, because the clerk was the only one at the front desk where packages are mailed. She made no apology for the wait to me or any of the customers in line, made no effort to hurry, did not ask a coworker to assist her, made no eye contact & didn't smile, did not tell me about the tracking number on my receipt, and certainly was not helpful as the USPS pays her to be. I plan on making an additional complaint at the Crooked Hill facility, since the 7th Street Post Office is offering sub-standard service, and from the sounds of it from the other reviews, has been doing this to customers for quite some time! I was sending a package to my son who lives in another part of PA. The travel time is usually a day or two at the most, but it's been a week, and he has not received the package, so I'm thinking they must have thrown it away instead of sending it as I paid them to do. It's no wonder that the USPS can't compete with UPS or FedEx. I will NEVER go to 7th Street USPS in Harrisburg again, nor should anyone else who wants good, prompt customer service. read more

It took them 5 months to get the key for my apartment's mailbox. Eventually I ended up writing to my legislator, and then I had the keys within a week. So if you're waiting for keys, try that. They also seem to be unable to deliver packages to my apartment. I'm trying to contact them about a package that was marked "undeliverable as addressed" and they don't answer the phone. read more
