Always terrible service, usually a line. They are not courteous at all. Sometimes on the cell phone and ignore customers. Good luck calling there, they never pickup the phone. They also have days where they dont deliver the mail at all. They also make there own hours so you are unsure what time they open. read more

I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. The staff at this post office have always been efficient and friendly when I've mailed something there. The Dobbs Ferry post office, on the other hand.... If you're looking to be insulted and ignored, the Dobbs Ferry post office is the place to go. read more

I happen to like this post office. It's pretty calm and serene. There are worse out there. I'd rather drop something off at this one than at a few others. I find everyone here helpful. They always offer stamps, are polite. It's a PO, not a sorority house. But it's less hectic than many others in the county and for that I am thankful. read more

Hastings-on-Hudson post office: The woman on duty Monday morning August 14th was rude, nasty, obnoxious,...I could go on. I will never use that post office again. On the other hand, the Dobbs Ferry post office is great! Polite, friendly, efficient staff. I came into the Hastings P.O. with my small, well-behaved dog on a leash just to by stamps and was yelled at and treated like a criminal. Told there was a "no dogs" sign on the door--which there IS NOT. Then she said, in a sarcastic voice, "Have a nice day." At Dobbs P.O., the person on duty complimented me on how cute and well-behaved my dog was and gave her a treat! read more

Don't bother to speak with the manager of this post office. She refused to provide her name. She is a typical get keeper in a place she apparently perceives as her entitled territory. Made it quite clear it wasn't her fault that our mail was not held as requested. No apology. No indication of how to improve service (2nd time this has been a problem). And RUDE while not allowing me to speak and accusing me of having an "attitude". Silly me. I thought customer service for problems like this should be "I'm sorry this occurred. One of the employees here needs to retire already...she's always ready to say she doesn't know "who you spoke with" or "what you're talking about" or just plain negate you. I brought in a clothing return that had a prepaid address label that could either be sent back via USPS or UPS. I asked if I could have this mailed out and she glanced at the package and said while walking away..."we don't take UPS." I said "it has two bar codes, one for USPS and one for UPS" and she kept trying to shut me up and talk over me even thought I knew I could mail it from there. She kept going back and forth with me until I pointed out the USPS bar code that she could have scanned five minutes ago. She then gave a half ass sorry as she walked away with the package. Yes. You were wrong. Stop talking and listen for a second. I recently had a book delivery delayed because there was a problem with the address. I called the post office and a wonderful lady on the phone was able to find it via tracking number and said she would hold it for me although she had no idea how it even ended up in Hastings since it had absolutely no address label! She was so nice! I told her I'd be on vacation and she said no problem and that she'd put a note explaining that I'd be in the following Monday. So Monday I attempted to retrieve it and here she goes again, "I don't know where that would be or who you spoke to because I wasn't here." DID I EVEN TELL YOU WHEN I SPOKE TO SOMEONE?! Just ready to negate me. I said "I spoke to the nice lady on Wednesday so yes, maybe it indeed WAS NOT YOU." She pretends to look for it and says she doesn't know. I point it out to her on the bottom of a stack of maybe 3 things by her foot. She picks it up and says there's nothing on it...no shit Sherlock. I just explained that to you. She gets someone else who I give the tracking number to and he is able to see that it is the same tracking number on the package, it just has a few extra numbers for some reason. This woman has absolutely no attention to detail and asked for the tracking number to then say it wasn't the same number but didn't have the brain power nor the desire to even try and confirm that it was my package. I've been searching for my package for one month now and last week I received a phone call from Hastings on Hudson Post office employee letting me know that my package still in Yonkers and that I should received by the next following week. I still haven't received anything. I decided to return the phone call from my cell phone voicemail to ask the whereabouts of my package and they kept telling me that they never reached out to me. He was nasty and rude and refused to give me his name. He said that he will call Yonkers post office and see where my package is and hung the phone. read more

The mail deliverer for my area of Hastings has decided unilaterally to stop delivering my mail because my tiny mailbox was full. Ironically it was filled with unsolicited junk mail that the post office subsidizes, the box was full for less than 12 hours, but he decided he would not deliver my mail for five days, despite seeing every day that the box was empty. I live in Hastings, however I will not use our post office. The staff is brusque, insensitive, and unkind; their service draconian. (There is one woman I quite like. The aforementioned description applies to the other woman and the single man who work the counter.) Having purchased three labels online, I visited the Office yesterday to pack my goods and send them off. I was chastised for purchasing a small padded envelope label, which apparently Post Offices do not carry anymore. Purchasing the label was my mistake (USPS needs to inform online customers of this policy, however), but the public reprimand was unmerited and unkind. USPS's practices are indisputably abstruse, and so clients should be served patiently and respectively. I'm afraid this wasn't the first negative experience with Hastings' USPS Office. Following this incident, I travelled to Dobbs Ferry's Postal Office, where I was treated exceptionally well and was encouraged to 1: order the padded envelopes from USPS's website or 2: pay the difference on a more expensive envelope. I acknowledged my mistake and paid the difference. Simple transaction there in Dobbs Ferry. I will never visit the Hastings Post Office again. read more

I agree with previous review. I also live in Hastings but always use Dobbs Ferry USPS if I need to send something. Hastings-on-Hudson Post Office provides horrible post service ever!!! They delivered to somebody else our 2 Green Cards. And said they can not remember where it was delivered because they deliver a lot of letters every day. I also sometimes find in my mailbox letters that was sent not to me. A lot of mess and laziness and obviously very very low staff qualification. I'd give them zero star if I could. read more

I've come to the post office in this quaint, clean town along the Hudson River for at least 6 times when I'd do part-time gigs up here. The Post Office's tiny but clean. And service's fast and friendly. On most occasions, I didn't really have to fall in line long enough to be served, which is unlike most post offices I've been to. The location's almost (or probably next) close to an old movie theater that looks well preserved outside. And along the streets, I'd be pleased seeing interesting old buildings, small parks, and alleyways that seemed to be worth discovering more closely. read more

The worst Post office. During Christmas Season (now) there are long lines and only one person working. I went back later in the day and still long lines and one person working. This Post office is a disgrace. I talked to the manager and he told me if I didn''t like it go to another post Office. This place needs a new manager. I have been to the Hastings post office several times. Service heavily depends on who is helping you. There are staff members who seem to have a problem with personal hygiene which are also challenged with operating the computers and services beyond the average postal stamp. To avoid the frustration at the teller, I often printed my own postage online. But as this post office has shorter opening hours than neighboring Dobbs Ferry, I have found myself going to Dobbs also to find clean air and friendlier service. read more
