Had gone back to post office as I had mail to send. Clerk there was not especially helpful. He said he'd have some one contact me. He had wanted the original tracking number. I told him to ask Rose the clerk of whom I'd given all copies previously. Seems I did get a few incoming calls on my cell. None of which at the time I was aware of. I had a really bad experience with the Asian female window Clerk I don't know her name I don't care but she was very nasty even the way she says hello I'd rather have her not say hello I've had no choice but to have her deal with my transaction twice and if she ever calls on me again I'm going to just tell her to take the next customer in line I am not dealing with her ever again As for the other male window clerks they are always very nice ... I was so surprised today when i needed a letter sent via certified mail. Usually there would be long lines to mail something through the teller window, but today was different - few people on line, and one of the postal workers were helping people who are on the line. The wait time was surprisingly short. The staff was professional and helpful. I've always dreaded coming here for these two main reasons, but it seems that there were changes and everything is running the way it should be. This Post Office here in Hicksville is so invaluable, because you can even mail packages or buy stamps, when they are closed. There is a 24 hour self service machine here. There are plenty of parking also. I am very satisfied with today's visit!!! read more

Today, 8-6-24, we visited the Hicksville, NY Post Office to obtain our 3 passports. Clerk Rose and the Team there were incredibly helpful. This Hicksville hub is home to the best post office on Long Island for both counties. Open until 9 pm, and the last of the overnight pick ups going sometimes until 7 pm -7:25 pm you can sometimes get that emergency overnight there if Fed Ex has cut off. To check when calling, they answer the phone and will let you know if it will make it, depending on time/ delivery location. This post office is a gem, with about five or six tellers keeping the line moving. It's no leisurely rookie place with early cut off times. I've tried Melville and Uniondale looking for other late night, but none are open to the hours of Hicksville. Put this in your contacts, as the last hope for getting something out today instead of tomorrow. Employees are pros too. read more

The worst post office in the history of America. 2 Asian ladies are the rudest individuals I've ever encountered. Could give a rats ass about the inevitable lines OUT THE DOOR, 24/7 no matter what time of day. They walk around the back & completely ignore the line. The frustration this single place has caused me every single time I have to come here is insane. This place would be better off shut down completely so at least they won't be employed any longer. On 12/13/23 I scheduled a Passport renewal application with the Hicksville Post Office since they are a full service Postal Office. They do Passport Photos and full application review and processing. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Rose who took the time and patience to review my application and fix any missing areas, confirm my supporting documents and even provide me with information on how to obtain a clean and new Birth Certificate via the Vital Records website. Ms. Rose was a pleasure to work with and made this process very pleasant. She was quick, intelligent and helpful. She is a shining example of Great Customer Service and an asset to the US Postal Company. Bravo ~~ Ms. Rose. And thanks for making this experience such a positive one for me. read more

Would not recommend to come here for your FBI Digital Fingerprinting. The staff did not know what they were doing and I was told to come back the next day (which would've changed nothing) or try to go to a police station. Had to go to a different location (Huntington Station) to get service done correctly. read more

Can't complain much, opened til 9pm, staff was friendly during my visit here. Parking is readily available right out front. Last collection from the mailboxes is 6pm. They also have a self-service kiosk outside the full service center as well as to kiosks inside the full service center. This post office is one of the large main distribution centers that I've seen. It sits nearby the Hicksville LIRR Station within walking distance. The back of the post office has multiple drive-thru mail blue drop slot boxes for New Yorkers who are always on the go in the everyday hustle and bustle of life. Customer service is somewhat attentive and courteous unlike the post offices in Manhattan as suburban life is much more laid-back and relaxed. I rate this post office four stars as it appears to be shabby and needs comestic structural work. This post office has good hours of operation as it open late, but no longer until 11:30pm due to the ailing economy. Postal Super Center I forgot that this place was open so late until I read the previous review - and I have used the damn late hour thing! This place is hands down the place to watch on April 15th when every procrastinator for 50 miles shows up here to file their income taxes before the deadline! Parking is TIGHT. They have a lot in the front (or more accurately, you could call it a wide strip). Navigating in and out of here was a pain. Their Automated Postal Center was messed up (the scale would not register what I had to mail off) so I had to go stand in line. Personally, I HATE doing this. Isn't the very purpose of an Automated Postal Center so you DON'T have to stand in the often long lines?!?!? The line here was a bit long but it did move a little better than the one at my local post office. Staff was helpful and did take care of me promptly without a long wait or hassle. I likely wouldn't go back unless I had to because of the parking lot but not a bad place if you're in the area. read more

Went to drop off packages and both drop drums were locked so you cannot just walk in, drop packages and leave. In an attempt to reduce viral exposure they should never leave those locked. Having them locked up causes many people to stand in line to drop their postage paid packages. NOBODY was six feet apart in line! I understand the building is old and there is no way to create additional room but you can have more convenience options. The machine is in the lobby to pay for and print labels, but you must then wait in line to drop the item off with a counter agent. read more

You can't even back out without the 50/50 chance of hitting someone pulling in. -The lines if you need to see an employee are insane, especially around the holidays and tax day. -It's 24 hours but they sometimes lock the doors...Just because. Came here to mail a birthday card since I'd run out of stamps. The parking lot is quite small with not many parking sports. If you can't find one, you have to turn back out of the parking lot onto the street and then try again. Getting out of the parking lot where the stoplight is is also a hassle because it's such an awkward position/angle that it puts the car in. The workers are friendly and efficient, so solid plus there! I just with the parking lot and entrance/exit were better designed! read more

As one of the few "Hub" Post Offices in Long Island, Hicksville is actually a major mail distribution branch, delivering mail to Hicksville, Jericho and a few other neighboring towns. They have well over 20 postal vehicles, which can be seen driving around the streets delivering packages and parcels. The public parking lot is rather small, but most people are in and out in a few minutes tops, so wait time is not that bad for the most part. Convenient location, right off the main road 106. Rude people working there. I am not speaking for all but all the ones that were there when i was waiting on line. Just left all i had to do was get few pieces of tape to tape up my label and it is a post office they refused to provide it instead they made me purchase tape for 4 dollars. Unreal ridiculous where is the human connection. They are very by the book no human connection. Along with other two ladies i can over hear them speaking with other customers in a rude manner as well. They all looked miserable and like they have an attitude. My husband warned me that the staff at the Hicksville, LI post office can be really rude, especially two Asian ladies. Went in to apply for passports for all of my children and...the service was surprisingly not bad. A woman named Rose processed our passports. She was thorough, efficient and worked quickly. I made a mistake by printing the form double sided ( a big no-no for passports) and she pointed out the mistake then just corrected it by making new copies. All in all, a painless experience. read more

I ship packages through this post office regularly and all of my packages get sent out on time. They're definitely reliable in that aspect. Now onto the bad: although I don't have issues with their customer service, I've witnessed (a few times) where they were super condescending to other customers that had a hard time understanding something. The worst thing -- their parking lot is a nightmare. Also, their package-drop bin is definitely overdue for an update. My advice? PAY ONLINE AT HOME, park outside the lot, and dump your package in the bin. Bam, Done! read more

If you look at my profile, you will see nothing but 4 or 5 star ratings. I will not go out of my way to rate a business poorly. I am reviewing this post office for two reasons: 1) so Yelpers will see that I am not one of those people that just give out 5 stars for anywhere and 2) this place is that bad that they deserve a poor rating! The staff is rude, angry and unhelpful for no logical reason. You will wait on line FOREVER. A 5-10 minute errand will waste an hour of your life. Parking lot is bad. It's a dirty and outdated location inside. I will go out of my way to use other post offices. I highly recommend you use this post office only in dire emergencies. read more
