They usually have 2 or 3 people working the counters, so the waits are much better. Post offices are made or broken by the workers. This place excels with its customer service. I've seen the employees here walk hard of hearing and elderly people through their orders in a very respectful and patient manner; that really stood out to me, because I have definitely seen the opposite. The only con is the parking--if you get lucky you can get a street spot, but generally I take the metered lot behind the Friendship Circle.

I was the first customer there had some cards that I was sending out for Easter. They were a little heavier, so I was concerned that they may need a little bit extra postage on them so I asked the employee if he could tell me if they were OK and certainly the first couple he just grabbed them from the box that he has sitting next to him and shook them a little bit and went. Yeah, these are fine and I added some other others that needed stamps after I purchased them and I asked him to check these also he says " I don't have time for that"was only nine additional cards and he said" I'm starting to get a line" maybe two more people behind me constitutes a line but satisfying a customer is certainly a bigger deal for US government employee so I'm just saddened by the fact that he felt that he didn't have enough time after his little lunch break and he was probably worn out from you maybe lunch I was his first customer at 2:15 and he couldn't find the time to finish up my purchase so sad! I understand that I showed up a couple of minutes before closing, but I didn't realize that until he mentioned it. I even asked him if he had time to help me, and if not, I would have gladly come back the next day. Instead, he snatched the box out of my hand and was very passive-aggressive. A lady walked in right after me, and he was rude to her as well--she only needed stamps. After she left, he made a smart comment to me, saying I was going to be the reason more people would come in, even though no one else came in besides that one lady. After I finished writing everything he needed, he took the box and the marker out of my hand and slammed the marker into the cup on the counter. I completely understand that people have bad days, but there's no reason to be aggressive or treat customers that way. Hopefully next time he chooses to be a bit kinder.

I arrived at 5:25 and the service counter area was locked. While I was going through the tedious self-serve parcel mailing process, three more people came in to mail packages and left frustrated. One commented that they are often closed at 5 PM. If that's the case, just change your hours officially and save people the confusion. I had a business post box here for many years which was fine. When you are here during open hours staff is always helpful. I also want to mention that despite my frustration on the evening I had to do the self serve, when I put my packages into the box they were not supposed to go out until the next day, but one of my recipients reached out the very next day to thank me for her package. So even if they were not customer facing after 5, they were obviously still keeping the mail going and I really appreciated that.

From the outside you would just pass this place up. Much like I did on several occasions. Honestly, this is the only thing in the building, all other businesses that once took up shop here, left. I wouldn't come here for my post office needs, especially since the one in Swissvale is much nicer, and doesn't look like a haunted house on the inside. One thing that is better here is space. There is a ton of it in there and you are not crammed in waiting your turn to get to the counter to buy your stamps/send a package.
