I've never had a bad experience at this post office. Every clerk I've ever had take care of me did it fast & friendly. Times I've gone there & the line was long I still wasn't there a long time. I've seen the post office get bad reviews on here & in the Howard Beach groups on facebook & I really don't understand that. I used to live in LIC & that post office was so bad. I made 2 separate passport appointment here weeks apart. 1st time they called me to cancel because the agent wasn't feeling well. 2nd time I showed up to the apt and the agent wasn't even there, agent left due to not feeling well. Waste of time!!!!!!! read more

I've been going to this location for years. They have gradually gotten better over the years. It's been a long time coming tho. Their biggest issues are the customer service. For so long it was So horrible!! I see how the manager or people dealing with issues handle the customers usually elderly folks. They have recently redecorated it and made it a little bit more accessible for disabled people and the large crowds that it gets. Over the last year or so The customer service at the post office has gotten much better. My big problem is that at least 50% of the time my mail is tampered with or I don't get it at all and it's "Lost". It never gets found and they seem to never be able to locate it and I don't see much determination in trying to find it or the solution for bags being ripped open or things being taken out of packages. I rarely go tobthe post office but so far everytime i go to this one it has been very good. Today i went in and i had an appointment for my passport and the window clerk liz help me out so good made me understand all i need.explain everything to me. I wish all workers were like liz. THE WORST POST OFFICE THAT I'VE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE!!! I wish that I could give negative stars! I ONLY have to come here for my mother. And I BEG people to use UPS or Amazon so that I NEVER have to pick up packages for my mother from this disgrace!! * The employers are unhappy. Not only do they show you, but they tell you! They aren't pleasant, always angry, no smiles, no thank yous, no have a good days...NOTHING!!! The normal greeting is..."NEXT!" And then they blank stare at you and give you dry tale rude nonchalant disconnected responses!! Now this has not only happened to me, but I've witnessed this behavior with SEVERAL other customers. It's really sad. * The inside is disgusting!! Dirty! I NEVER touch the counters, the self serve mail area (that never has supplies), and I do my best not to touch the door!! I'm disgusted that my shoes have to even touch floors!! A simple daily cleaning (sweeping & mopping) would do miracles!! The counters, walls, window sills all need some attention. * No parking. None. They need to make it metered parking or 30 min parking like other post offices since they don't have a parking lot. THIS PLACE IS EMBARRASSING!! read more

I can not believe what I had to deal with this morning, never in my life have I been screamed at and assaulted for my package not being delivered and perhaps stolen. Sorry I didn't catch her name and I'm far from racist but the (Chinese) lady behind the counter literally assaulted me behind the glass she screamed and curse me out because I asked how long to wait to make a claim since my package said it was delivered Saturday the 8th and my complex camera shows no one around remind you it was a Mother's Day gift to myself for my moms death, I kept calm while she kept yelling at me telling me to give it time " yet not telling me how long to wait" the manager and another employee came to help me and she still jumped In to attack me. The lady is crazy and needs to be fired the manager had to pull the lady off the floor and I still don't get it I wasn't rude or yelling at her til the end I was just fed up with her disrespecting me I cried cause all I wanted was my package and am very shocked. As I can write a bad review I can give credit where it's due 3hrs later the manager Sharon called me as promised located my package held it for me to pick up and apologized rest of staff was well mannered but her smh lol she needs to be fired she literally has mental issues and does not have professional customer service yet alone human manners, she's disgusting. read more

Very small Post Office. I don't go often but there is always a line when I came here. I'm surprised they don't have a kiosk here. Parking is metered right along the block and there is usually a spot out front or right around the corner. read more

Never deliver my packages on the delivery day. Always "running Into issues" I am a business open to the public 7 days a week yet the post office always "misses" me. Terrible operation, that house needs to be cleaned. read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Let's put aside the fact there's never NOT a line out the door, and only about 2 miserable employees at any given time. Today I'm writing because last week I took the time to research a post office that TOOK PASSPORT PHOTOS THERE to do it all in one shot since I have an infant, I reserved our appointments and now here's the big day. After WAITING past our appointment time for someone to acknowledge us, she says "oh we don't do passport photos here, go next door to rite aid, it's no big deal!" Beside myself, I started screaming at her it IS a big deal, I would have booked elsewhere if it was "no big deal" to drag an infant to several locations. I'm absolutely disgusted and can't wait to find the right person to inform about the websites misleading information, hopefully then they'll re-train their miserable staff too. read more

I live and work in this community and I am forced to go here, big problem in this post office.the line is always constantly long and slow, there are not enough people working in this facility to meet the demands of these large lines, the employees are stressed out by the general public of Howard Beach, i Live and work here so I understand how my neighbors can be somewhat disrespectful, the employees must be paid horribly since there is no drive to do their job better, there are metered spots in the front but I believe locals use the spots for other stores so you will have to drive around a few times like I said please avoid this post office if you can, management doesn't really seem to have any say in any matters as they know me too well in this location and I'm not 1 to keep my mouth shut, but I've given up complaining, this past weekend two packages still do not show tracking because of a long line I did not want to wait so I had left the packages with a mail carrier on the corner of 160th Ave. and 92nd St. I also tipped the guy five dollars and I still don't see tracking which only means he brought the package home, along with all the other things this ungrateful jerk probably steals on a daily basis and nobody reprimands him I'm going there right now to complain about this I'm sure it will fall on deaf ears good luck and do not go here. I was waiting for an important package which I paid $200 to have insured. When the company for which I was expecting a package advised me that the package was delivered, I immediately noticed that I did not have the package at my home. My residence has cameras; therefore, I was able to access the camera system and saw that the actual postman signed for the package and just left it there without my authorization. I called the post office about the situation and notified them that the postman signed my package and delivered it without my authorization. The package was highly important which is why I requested a signature and paid for insurance in the first place. My experience in the post office was very unprofessional. Everyone in the office kept running around and no one had any answers for me. I tried to contact a supervisor or manager at the Howard Beach Post office repeatedly, but it took 3 weeks before anyone supervisor or manager contacted me back. Once the supervisor or manager understood the situation, they still could not help me and are stating that the delivering postman had to confirm that he actually signed it or that they could not refund me my insurance on the package which I paid $200 for until the deliveryman came. I am unable to wait even longer for answers. This is the worst post office service ever. read more

Horrible customer service over the phone. Spoke to a very rude, unintelligent and unwilling to help "manager" last year. Today, I had an issue with a package was on hold for almost 50 minutes and was then hung up on. Every experience with this post office is an extremely negative one. Worst post office on the planet. Besides being too small there are at best 2 clerks behind the desks who move as slow as molasses. Seems they are more interested in talking to each other than helping the patrons. read more
