Without hesitation the mail lady received my son's letter with a big smile and the experience 10x better than I could have imagined. I believe her name is nancy. The post office is very lucky to have her on staff. She's always very efficient and helpful. This post office location is always clean and welcoming. I had a very unpleasant experience at this post office today. I came in with several prepaid packages and from the moment I approached the counter, the clerk (African American lady) already had an attitude. The first thing she said to me was, "You need to ship all that?" in a very dismissive tone. I calmly answered yes. She then told me that she would take the packages "this time," but that next time I would need to go to a different location on 56th Street before 4 p.m. because their trucks leave early. While I acknowledged this and said okay, the way it was communicated felt unnecessary and rude. She then began examining the labels and pointed out that one box was labeled incorrectly and should match labels. I explained that the label was generated through Shopify under the "medium flat rate" option and that these packages are not returned, which indicates the labeling is correct. She raised her voice and insisted that if it didn't match, the buyer would be charged an additional shipping fee. I again acknowledged her concern. Despite this, she still accepted the packages. Throughout the interaction, her tone was confrontational and unkind. Even after everything was accepted, when I politely wished her a great day before leaving, she responded dismissively with "Mhm." Customer service should be respectful and professional, especially when someone is simply trying to ship prepaid packages. Unfortunately, this interaction felt unnecessarily hostile. I live in Huntington park yet will not be returning to this location, but I do hope future customers are treated with more kindness and courtesy than I was today. I got to my appt at 11:35 . 10 minutes early to my appt. And they told me to wait for the person who handles the passports which I did. Then two more person arrived and to one they told him that she was at lunch and will be back in 20 minutes. Since I over heard the conversation I went to the person on the window like why do they not mentioned that to everyone. and why have appts available at that time if NO ONE will be available to assist. And back from lunch at 12:15 pm. Taking her sweet ass time to assist. I got bad vibes. Basically there were other people there but no one else could do the job. While I was waiting there, I saw so much unprofessional manners. There was one girl which I did not see a tag of her name on it. She was working on stapling passport packages, and she saw the line was getting bigger and she helped one of the older men and the older man was walking up to her, rolled her eyes, and she saw me that I saw her. Another instance customers leave their packages and Workers just throw them without any care to the outbox. So if we wonder what happen to packages we know why. I have never in my experience of dealing with getting a passport or with mail employees . It might be that the post office does not have AC rolling in there just with fans, but that does not give you the right to be rude to customers that come to you as the employees should be glad to have a job. So the reviews on this passport are truly true. They are horrible and they need new people in the post office. I'll check in maybe next year how they doing and hopefully they have better employees working there. Everything needs improved there.. if I could go give a zero star on this, I would. read more

So I go yesterday to submit my kids passport I been doing all my passport needs her for yrs! never had a problem.but yesterday was definitely the worst experience EVER! At this location if you don't have an appointment you can go as a Passport Walk-In Tuesday-Friday 1:00 PM-2:00 PM it's been like this FOREVER! But NANCY rejected me and told me NO we don't offer walk-ins only appointments but whit a rude unprofessional way! I say May I speak to your manager because online 1.there's no appointments 2nd they say you accept walk-ins tue-Fri & today is Friday and it's 1pm! When I barely even touched it made me pay for tape as well, for no reason when she had a roll of tape on her desk, and I just needed a strip. The absolute worst customer service. I arrived 10 minutes before they opened and they were 5 minutes late to open the door. I went in and didn't let that bother me like it bothered the others waiting. What bothered me is the extremely rude black woman that works there. I greeted her with a good morning twice and she ignored me. Her face was that of stone cold person that has no business around people. Message to the black woman "If you hate your job that much......QUIT. If you hate the Latino Community ask for a transfer to a neighborhood that better suits you" The other ladies are slightly better but you can tell they have a chip on their shoulder because they know they can treat the community like crap because the customers that visit do not stand up for themselves. Came here to renew my son's passport Friday morning around 9:20am. There were three employees at the counter and five consumers. Approached the bitter USPS Employee and she informed me that we need to get there earlier to apply for a passport as they could only accept ten customers due to being short staff. I asked what other locations were processing passports. She informed me the one at South Gate (Atlantic). We went to the South Gate location and processed our son's passport paperwork without problems. They process passports until 4pm (no sure about weekends). In addition, they will take your passport picture for $15.00. Payment in form of cash, debit or credit card. read more

I have NEVER EVER experienced such unprofessionalism in my life! I showed up 10min before my appt time for my passport and was asked to wait on the side by the Manager, Edwin Villalobos. 15 min had gone by, and nobody was helping me (and the two other families that were waiting). Edwin explained to me that they were short staffed and the only person who could help with passports was managing the regular service line. He said the other girl needed to get back from lunch so we could be helped. Finally the girl returned from lunch and nothing changed. Now two employees were helping the regular service line, vs us - the people for passport services WITH appts! I asked the lady again for help, she said she was doing what her manager asked her to do. I asked to speak to Edwin again. He just repeated himself about being short staffed and said the line needed to be down before the other lady could help us. Mind you, there were only 3 people in line at this moment. It made absolutely no sense as people come to the post office ALL DAY. Long story short, one lady and her two young daughters waited from 12:25-1:45 to be helped. Her appt was at 12:45. I didn't get help until 2, my appt time was 1:15! HORRIBLE way to "manage", this could've been handled VERY differently. I will NEVER EVER go back. I mentioned to my staff what had happened and they all expressed the same feelings and experience at this same clinic. They said it is horrible there! They were right! Edwin should be trained on how to manage while being short staffed. I will be making a formal complaint as well. read more

Parking is non existent. Just street on a busy road and only 20-24 minutes. They only have boxes out and I needed a bubble envelope which I had to wait in line to get. Once I got there I stepped aside to fill out the address for the envelope, there was a pen by the counter but the cashier didn't let me use it, she said "it's for my customers only." Um I'm a customer too... Luckily another guest in line had a pen and offered it to me so I was able to fill out the address and the forms. I returned the pen and paid at the same counter and as I paid with my credit card I was then allowed to use the cashier's pen... Seriously? It's just a pen. I grew up in the ghetto of East LA and the post office there aren't as possessive about their pens. Just tape a rubber band cord to the pen if you're afraid of getting jacked. Anyway lesson learned, come with my own pen. read more

awesome! they have seats for people waiting for their passport application. i was worried since i couldnt contact them by phone (like all usps locations), but they're the nearest usps location that had passport appointments scheduled online. The passport lady that day was very prompt and patient as well as friendly. Didnt mind when my mother was a bit slow with some instructions (she doesn't speak english). Their photocopy had issues working during that time, but I've created all the photocopies I needed beforehand so was not an issue at all. I was called up 7 mins after my appointment time, and the process took 6 mins of presenting my papers, IDs, and me and my mother signing as well as pledging. They accept cash at this location, and fill out money orders on the spot for it. A very straight forward, pleasant experience, would recommend this location for passports! read more

Awesome post office! As a longtime resident of the City of Huntington Park I can honestly say that this is a good post office. The staff have always been super nice, I think the same people have worked here forever, and always try to get you in and out asap. The post office is always clean and the inside decor is reminiscent of American history. Overall, this is probably my favorite USPS office! As previously mentioned, you do need to watch out for the meter parking because this office doesn't have its own parking lot. HP Parking Enforcement is always on the lookout so make sure you put money in the meter. read more

This post office really triggers me. Only the same 3/4 ladies that work here. They look like they really are just over their job, but they keep it cause they've been here forever. Well my only compliant is actually them. They always look like they are so mad when they help me. Ive never once received a hello, or thank you. And it's weird because I'm there almost everyday. I only come here when I don't have time to drive to the State Street post office. The parking here is horrible on random days. There is quite a bit if 20 min zone available but you have to get lucky to find a space open. The staff is a slow and ladies are not rude but not friendly either. They just do their job and that's it. Not very approachable if you have questions about shipping and prices. read more

It also states that they close at 2 pm....but when a woman showed up at 1 to try and apply for a passport they made it seem like they were already supposed to be closed and she was an inconvenience! If your a walk in you have to wait for the Walk in list, at that time if the appointments cancel you will be called in the order you signed in (from the walk in list). The 2 ladies working are older women so it would explain the slow process apart from them talking to each other. People here have been waiting for about 3 hours.
