This US postal office is constantly packed and crowded. There is a large parking lot so that is a plus but the location itself is tiny and offers about 2-3 employees working the counter. There is a self service machine that I used to order stamps which was cool. There are three drop box locations and one of them was broken and out of service. It is hard to imagine this ever being a quick in and out just due to the constant long lines even during non peak hours. The woman who helped me with my letters was pretty cordial and didn't act like she hated her life which I can appreciate. read more

Every time I go there whether it's a long line of 30 people short line of 10 people you wait for a half an hour, they only have two people working the counter and staff in the back who will not come out even if there's a line wrapped out the door..... it's horrible. read more

After living in this state for almost literally forever and at different residences, I had the unfortunate situation with my mail carrier at my place after I moved there last summer, would give me my mail and then some but return at least 5 packages that were necessary and important in their own way. I stopped by when I checked in via yelp to correct the situation. On a late Saturday morning, spent about a hour in line and the ladies were kind and helpful but was told a few times I would need to fill out a green form to receive all my mail and that it would take 2 weeks to complete. I told her that Ive moved countless times and never had an establishment or a carrier not give that info or provide a form to me, as usps online is easy to update as is. Unfortunately the saga stretched up until last week when another package was returned after the fact and I called to usps to escalate the issue. The reply from the Lakewood office was quick enough but strange as the supervisor in email didnt acknowledge the error with her front end staff and carrier, didn't apologize the green form I signed was lost or for her carrier being petty and not giving the form in my mailbox as they should have been. Even us leaving notes for the carrier, it kept going. However they had me sign it again with now the carrier giving me a green form in my mailbox. Ive had at least 3 other corporate carriers find me (Amazon, FedEx, Trackit) multiple times since being here yet it seems the stigma of USPS precedes this location as well. Lately last few packages have arrived since then yet Im still a bit apprehensive every time! If theres a reply from usps on here, Im happy to share more receipts :) read more

This post office WILL NOT answer the phone. For years I had a great carrier, the last 3 years I have had no regular carrier and the ones that they send on my route keep delivering my meds to the wrong address. When I get a PKG. they throw it in the grass instead of under the carport where it will stay dry, this is Washington do they not know it rains here? The postal carriers used to bring pkgs. to your door and leave them there, now they will not get out of there jeeps. I have spoken twice to this post offices mgr. after I complain to the USPS, but he still has done nothing. My husband goes to this post office to mail packages for me a few times monthly. He is fortunate enough to have clerk number 12 to assist him. This man goes above and beyond the call of duty every day and is always cheerful and helpful. Last time he visited, Number 12 was nice enough to go in the back to search for more mailing priority boxes. People need to be more understanding of the post office, and respect the people who work there. Remember, who is still the freaking postmaster general? DeJoy, the man who removes joy from all. I don't know when this administration is going to get rid of him. But in the meantime, our brave people are doing a good job in Lakewood. read more

For months, I haven't gotten packages I ordered. It is hit and miss. One time it comes, the next time, I have moved??? Do different drivers choose who they want to deliver to... or maybe they don't know how? Phone calls go unanswered, when you do talk to someone, no one is accepting responsibility, so they don't have to do any research. Whatever happened to: "Through rain, or hail or snow or sleet... the mail must go through!" ? The Pony Express did a better job in the good ol' days!! They require you to call them with mail problems. They never answer the phone. There is no recourse if you have missing mail or strange text messages from the P.O. Today I am getting a text message that says my address is not accurate for a package delivery, what package? There is no tracing number given. No one answers the phone. Half Star. I have never had a single USPS office botch so many shipments at once. One employee thought the Priority postage was supposed to be Express and so they send the package back to my apartment thinking it's short of postage. Another package had a new label put on top and it looked like someone ripped it off and used the old label to send that package back to my apartment as well. This location, as others have stated, does not follow the pricing that is listed on line. I came to send a letter in a flat fee priority envelope advertised as 2-3 day. When the recipe printed out the date showed 9 days out. The worker said that the only way to get the 2-3 day (as advertised) was to purchase express overnight delivery which was over $30. Even after paying the 30 bucks my recipe printed out 4 days. So much for "overnight". The USPS has gone way down hill over the years with many of the private companies excelling. Definitely has one of the worst customer service I have experienced and seen others experience. For a location as diverse as here and as packed as it usually is, I would expect the workers to at least treat the customers with respect and appreciation, especially during difficult times like these. Where to begin? Customer service is non-existent at this branch. There can be a line out the door, but the employees will continue their personal conversations, not helping customers, not acknowledging the line, or stepping out of sight. When you do finally make it to the counter the employees are rude, and in a huge hurry to move you along. They will become visibly frustrated if you don't take the brush off, and I have received many sighs and eye rolls while attempting to accomplish anything. It's a favorite move for them to say "wait for a supervisor" and move on to someone else, leaving customers huddled in the corner waiting for the elusive supervisor. It's a pretty good tactic if the goal is for customers to "just go away". That's the branch. In addition, the carriers are either incredibly overworked or incredibly lazy. The mail will appear on "informed delivery"(email) but then it won't actually be delivered until days later. Today I was absolutely home when the mail carrier came by. I had a letter that I paid to have overnighted and signature on. They NEVER even attempted to come to the door for a signature, instead they just put the "sorry we missed you" DOOR STICKER notice IN MY MAILBOX. Like, hello?! If I paid to overnight it, I obviously needed it TODAY. If there's a signature required mayyyyybeeee you should attempt to contact a PERSON to obtain said signature.....? Crazy notion, I know. Status says I was "unavailable" for delivery of my package. which is clearly not the case. He just didn't want to get out of his car because he was running behind. I was sitting in my yard and watched the driver put my mail in my box and drive to the next house. I Even stood outside at the end of the driveway to get his attention and he didn't stop. read more

Worst location and employees. The carrier from this location is constantly throwing packages at our front door and destroying them. Our complex used to allow the drop off of all packages at the main office. When that was no longer allowed and the USPS carrier from this location actually had to start delivering packages to the appropriate destinations, he decided the solution was climbing part way up the stairs and throwing the packages the rest of the way. I have had to pay to return and replace countless items because of this location and its employee. Most recently being today, shortly before writing this review. Needless to say, there will be hidden cameras on our front stoop from this day forward. If this location won't do something about packages constantly being destroyed, I'll be sure everyone gets to see via video the shoddy practices of the carriers from this location. read more

The Post Office is good though the number of unprepared clients they tolerate is annoying. For example waiting and waiting only to find out someone could not address their mail, finish packaging, or arguing with the staff about address issues -which by the way is not a postal duty. And then there is a window person who must be getting a commission on stamp sales (ok, that's not true), because a customer asked the cost of mailing an envelope, 78 cents or two stamps. WAIT, stamps are 58 cents and two amounts to $1.16: how is that customer service? Why not offer the patron a 20 cent stamp? It appears that while most go out of their way for customers --even the annoying ones-- some can't take a moment to offer a positive experience for patrons. I called them over 30 times in a day. Not a single answer. Alex the mail man is once again refusing to deliver my mail. He's marked my home as vacant in the past, thrown my mail, and now he's withholding all of it for no reason. I've filed numerous online complaints to which no one has contacted me for. First off, the customer service is mediocre. There can be AT LEAST 20 people in line before they all start coming from the back to help. I'm unable to remember the name of the young woman who I've seen for awhile, probably the worst attitude there. Doesn't care to communicate or do anything that'll help. Secondly, the area in which people go to pick up or send mail is SO small/tight, stuffy, and can get uncomfortable. IF you can go anywhere else, I highly recommend it. The carrier from this post office has left my neighborhood cluster mailbox all open. Around 8 mailboxes just open the whole day. This is now the second time. The first time this has happened, o reported it through the phone which the supervisor said she'll talk with the carrier and told me most likely the carrier still has my mail. Almost a week passes and no mail for all 8 boxes. We visit this office and the workers have no idea what I'm talking about when I mention what had happened and said there's none of my mail held there. A couple days pass, and we finally get our mail, but I'm not too sure if it's our old ones from the past week or just new ones. And now that it's happened a second time, I'm thinking THERE IS THEFT GOING ON IN THIS POST OFFICE. I called the supervisor again, she obviously doesn't care. Said there's nothing she can do except talk to the carrier. She doesn't care if it's a regular occurrence. She doesn't care if people's mail are getting taken whether intentionally or by negligence. Absolutely the worst functioning post office I've ever been. I have VERY IMPORTANT things sent to my mailbox which has been broke into twice (not their fault) so they are supposed to hold our mail there for us to pick up, which sucks but would rather pick up my own stuff that I worked hard for. This has been months now. Yet somehow, they never know where my packages are. The employees refuse to even help customers trying to see where their stuff is before it gets lost!
