Too bad there isn't a zero or negative integer in the rating system. This location has a history of poor customer service. Regular long lines within minutes of opening, minimal employees at the desks, and substandard application of basic customer service skills. Condescending attitudes towards customers for asking questions are at an all-time high here. If we knew the answers, we wouldn't ask. Please don't shout at me through your improperly worn mask. Use some other means of getting packages delivered in a timely manner. As for the snail mail service, and the letter carriers that regularly misdeliver our mail, that would take another paragraph. Not here today either and the p.o. even tho it's open til 12:30 just hangs up repeatedly and if God forbid Someome ever answers , you're put on hold then hung up on. I've been here several times and I've never had an issue. I've never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes (compared to half an hour at other USPS locations). One time, there wasn't even a wait! I'm always surprised by how much the shipping rates have increased, but that's probably to be expected with the economy. The US Post Office is one of my favorite places to go... NOT. But the staff at the counter are always helpful and knowledgable, so they make the experience far more enjoyable than it would be otherwise. And I honestly never mind waiting in line there because the customer service is so good. I visit the post office so often that I already have two favorite people who work there, one lady older than me and one guy about my age. They always smile and don't fit that Newman mailman stereotype. I know the line gets long here from time to time, but it's the post office, that's to be expected. I've seen way longer lines back in DC, so this really isn't that bad. And when it is long, usually someone steps away from the desk and tries to help people standing in line. It's always clean and tidy inside. The forms and envelopes are neatly organized and sorted. There's really not much to complain about. Except I notice some days the passport line looks painfully long. Just need to try to go when people are at work. read more

Eh, it's a post office. I go here to drop off my mail I am sending when I don't feel like walking to the mailbox in the condo complex I live in. I also have to stop off here when I forget to get stamps at the grocery store lol. This place isn't bad and as said in the other reviews the line moves quickly. I haven't used their passport services because of the limited hours they keep and because I can go to the city building right by the house and knock it out there in a few minutes. As far as post offices go this place isn't bad it runs efficient, has the supplies I have needed and the people working there haven't tried to kill me so I can't find much wrong. read more

I send out 50++ packages weekly at the Lakewood USPS each week with on-line ebay postage. I had to quit selling international as they kept sending the packages back to me with no notes, no reason. Spoke to the manager and her answer was "I don't know why" duhh =Wasted postage on 4 packages. Now they are sending back domestic packages I drop off on Saturday evening & Sunday when they are closed and they are dated for Monday so their note says I have to date them for a non-business non working day for Sunday. Horrible customer service. The lady upfront seemed irritated and annoyed with her job. Instead of helping out and clarifying she said she couldn't send the package and dismissed the customer. I stood in line for passport services and saw her be rude to every customer she was supposed to help. I couldn't get her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag but I'm sure anyone who goes here can tell who I am talking about. Always packed and not enough people working. Walked in early (as they request) for a scheduled passpoint appointment, I waited 30 minutes and was finally asked if I was there for appointment, only to be told the person would be back in about 30 minutes. What is the point of scheduling anything if no one is there to help? Service would have been available 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment... Also note I watched the passport employee walk out with bags and coat as I was standing in line and wasn't told anything from this employee. read more

As with all US post offices this one has the rudest most disturbed employees of any company in the nation. Anything you ever say to the people here is met with aggression, rudeness, and just simple lack of interest. Who reviews the post office on Yelp? People who hate it. Well, I love it. Sending something tangible to somebody else far away, for just a few cents--that's pretty magical in today's age of computers. Waiting in line, if there is one, is part of the experience. Commiserating with your fellow man about the long line, sharing an eye-roll with the guy behind you about the old lady up at the counter taking forever to select her favorite stamp to put on the envelope for her grandson's birthday card--that's effing human right there!!! Incompetent!. Lost a very important package and then lied multiple times to cover themselves . You go and speak to a supervisor and they lie. Then you go to a manager and they respond with another lie. You can tell by how many low stars they have. This is the last time I will use the USPS for shipping. read more

Came here to pick up a package of which they only attempted to deliver once and never again. Very disappointed of their delivery service and also customer service. Tried to call this location to confirm my package was here to pick up but after many attempted phone calls, someone finally answered only to have me on hold for 10-15 minutes and no response. I finally decided to hang up and go to this post office personally. Workers here definitely don't appear happy to help you. Finally was able to have someone check for my package of which i picked up and left. I've yet to visit any other post office near me other than this one but compared to all the others ones I've been in other cities, this one is definitely lacking great customer service. read more

Rude, condescending employees who berate customers with their policies without actually allowing them to speak and tell them exactly what the problem is. Provide no courtesy or help to resolve issues when they lose your package after lying to you and telling you that the Priority Mail postage you purchased includes a tracking number that is printed on the receipt but isn't really. And the bitchy clerk whose job during the holiday season is to stand there and tell people to keep the line moving and talk down to you condescendingly like a parent to a child while you are filling out the forms when there are only 3 postal employees behind the counter. Useless government workers. If someday I turn on the news and see that someone went "postal" at this USPS location I won't even be a bit surprised. There's a good reason for it. Passport service - Submitted application for my daughters passport here. I specifically offered copies of documents explaining my last name change, was told I didn't need to include them. The FIRST letter I received from the state department is that they need these documents, which is holding up passport. The SECOND letter from state department is that I have to send another photo because the one provided was damaged. It wasn't damaged when turned submitted at this post office. Pain in the a** having to send two additional letters. Passport line was also EXTREMELY long with one guy working it. We got there before they opened and were still 4th in line (30 min wait). By the time we left there were at least 15 people behind us, I imagine they waited a good couple of hours. No bathrooms for our toddler. How can you make people wait that long and not provide facilities?! Awful. read more

While I normally find this location bearable, their customer service today definitely left a different impression! During a phone call conversation with one of their employees to track down a package, he was abrasive and short with me, and blatantly gave me wrong information about my package, before hanging up mid sentence. In contrast, a different post office entirely I called not long afterwards did everything they could to counter the 'information' he gave me, and help remedy the situation! Absolutely horrible post office!! I went out of town for a couple weeks over the holidays and my mailman pulled my mail. Thats all fine, I understand that but after I contacted the post office to get my service restarted, I got my mail one time, on top of my mailbox, in my apartment complex, where anyone could have grabbed it. Then did not receive anymore mail. I have opened 3 separate cases that have all been closed and "completed" without my knowledge and I still have not received any of my mail after more than 2 MONTHS!!! The phone number they list is never answered and I have no way of contacting them or going down because of my work schedule! The childish behavior of my mail carrier is appalling and I will be pursuing this from a legal standpoint from this point forward because clearly the post office is supporting his tampering with my mail and its at a point where they are now messing with me financially since I am not getting checks that were sent to me and have yet to receive my w2. All I want is my mail, which is literally their only job, deliver mail, and they cant/won't do it. I will be writing a letter to the usps headquarters in Washington DC to get this taken care of one way or another, im done being patient. And im not sure if carriers drive the same truck everyday but my carrier was driving truck number 4312972 on 2/26/21. Trish is a miserable employee that honestly looks like this job has literally sucked the life right out of her. They have lost two more packages being shipped to me since my initial review. A third package I sent was also lost, so I demanded an investigation. I got a letter several weeks later stating that they had no idea what happened to my package and I was SOL. Incidentally, the letter arrived the day after my package was actually delivered to the recipient on the east coast. I literally cannot possibly imagine a more incompetent, surly, good-for-nothing group of "people." DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH ANYTHING. I can no longer purchase items online that are shipped via USPS, because I know I just won't get them. I thought I'd give this post office another shot and I STRONGLY regret it. I'm a power seller on eBay and weigh my packages and print pre-paid labels from home. I spend hundreds if not thousands on USPS labels each year. I set up package pickups so USPS can pick up these pre-paid packages the next day. Usually, USPS don't bother picking it up and then still marks the pickup as completed, which happens about two-thirds of the time. I still try it to save a trip to the post office and avoid the 20-30 minute line. Yesterday, once again, they did not pick up my package and marked it as completed. So today I took it to this post office and waited in line a half hour only to be told by the rude brunette that they could not accept it because the label had yesterday's ship day on it... I explained it wasn't shipped yesterday because they failed to pick it up but still claimed they did and the worker said it wasn't her problem. UNBELIEVABLE. Now I'm out the cost of the label and had to pay UPS to ship it instead since USPS is clearly incapable. I will never use USPS again. read more

This post office is pretty big. They have a lot of mail boxes for rent, and they cover a large portion. The clerks here are generally friendly, and they work as fast as they can without sacrificing customer service. The line moves pretty quickly, and when they are busy, they try to have another clerk out helping with boxes and other stuff. You can get passport pictures done here. They have mailboxes with its own lane so there aren't a ton of cars driving through the parking lot. Unless you're a federal employee, you'll have to turn left to leave, as turning right will put you on the Federal Center at the employee entry gate. read more

Most ignorant, rude employees!! I'm a generally nice person when I am with customer service. I have no problem being friendly towards people. However, this particular employee was rude and nasty!! While I was waiting in line I was looking for a pen to write down the address on my package. The only pens around were at the customer service counter. So instead of interrupting the other customers to grab a pen, I decided to wait my turn in line and then fill out the address at the counter. When I got called up I explained to the lady that I had to use a pen really quick (she had like 5 by her register). She said (Asian accent) "Oh but now you hold up line, you fill this out before you come here" I explained that there were no pens but she still kept on yapping and yapping at me about hold up line for customer.. I finally looked at her and told her SHH!! Seriously what else was I supposed to do?? This in my eyes was the nicest thing I could've done I'm done writing the address and she's gone for a good two minutes... I'm like uhhh wtf?! A guy, in guessing some sort of supervisor comes by and before he could say anything i said, "if you had pens out there you wouldn't have this problem, I've been done filling this out, now I'm just waiting for her!" She comes back with a nasty look and an even nastier attitude! I would never just shush someone, that's so rude! Yet in this situation it was either that or say something mean.. I had a couple of small boxes to ship, one being a priority that I picked up on the way to get in line. I got the labels, but I didn't see any pens. Oh well, they've got pens at the counter, so I figured I'd just fill in the addresses real quick when I got to the counter. Easy right? Nope. After waiting about 10 minutes, I was told that I would need to leave and come back when I was ready to ship something. They wouldn't let me write the addresses there at the counter. Screw 'em. I was in this location today trying to ship a package from a government agency to a site in Cuba. Just over a week ago, my colleague and I were at this location to find out why our first shipment had been returned with little explanation. At that time, Eric very apathetically pointed out that we were missing a date stamp on the customs form, but he stated that was his 'best guess' as the reason for the return. Today I had the good fortune of getting Eric again and he was equally unhelpful this time. First he told me that I needed to fill out a different form which I was certain was incorrect because we've done a tremendous amount of research preparing for these shipments. Sure enough when I stepped out of line, filled out the form and ended up at a different window, I was told that I had filled out the correct form initially. I wish I'd gotten her name because she was also helpful enough to point out that in the future I don't have to wait in line, just step to a window when there is an opening to get the stamp needed on the customs form. I'm skeptical but willing to give it a try. In general, this location needs to step up their customer service. Both times I was in recently it was early afternoon and there were only 2 people at the counter and one of them was focused solely on passport applications. read more

I've always had issues with USPS, as our Gov. can't seem to get anything right, but this is HANDS-DOWN the worst USPS store i've had to deal with. Everyone in the establishment is miserable, nothing but bad attitudes and poor customer service. I believe my carrier delivered my package ($700 in Product) to the wrong mailbox. Upon calling the Post-office to find my shipment, i was given an attitude, and hung up on TWICE as i was speaking. The third call, i was told that i would receive a call back, which never happened. It has now been 4 days. I have called everyday, and this establishment is no longer answering my calls. It's almost as if helping any customers is a burden for them. As a business owner, their blatant disregard for their customers is far-beyond unprofessional. Who HANGS-UP on a customer in need of assistance? Upon showing up to the office itself to confront them with my issue, i was once again given an attitude, and told that there is nothing they can do. I had to go back in and see what I can do to get the money back ($200!!) that's when I was told that I had to wait 60 days to do anything about it. That's not great news but I waited the 60 days went in to today on the 60th day and was told I have to make an inquiry... that I could have made sooner apparently!!!! They also have no idea how long this will take and didn't tell me how I would find out any further information on how I'll hear back about this inquiry!!! Not to mention my boyfriend went to this location 2 days prior and need tape a label on his package to send it and was told they have no tape and he would have to buy some tape it and get back in line to send it!!!
