My lease paymnets are due on the 10th of the month but my accountant comes to my office twice a month to cut checks, once on 25th of the month (for payments due on the first) and once on 11th of the month (for payents due on 15th). I asked Heartland to move the due dates to first of the month to make it more conveinienct. They said NO. So I started cutting them a check on the 25th and mailed them out on the first with the rest of the batch. This month I see a 10% late payment penalty on my statement. It is shocking since I have been mailing my payment 6-8 days early. I call to discuss it with them and the person in charge of the accounting tells me that my payment was not posted until the 18 of the month. I said how is that possible when I mailed it out on the first of the month? She had no explanation except saying that their organization is flowless and they post the checs on the same day. I said if that is the case then the post office must have taken 18 days to deliver teh check. I asked if they examin the postage stamp prior to charging late fee? Her response was that this is not thier responsibiity. Her tone was uncaring and indiferent. She refused to let me talk to her manager becasue she said they are in the process of being purchased and can not be disturbed. I highly recommend for people to stay away from this company.

I called early today and asked the same question so as not to lose a trip. When I got there, suddenly we were given some lame made up excuse about the first sentence of the document needed to be "reworded"? And no, they could not provide another witness. So we had to leave. The guy didn't seem legit with his answers, maybe he didn't like latin people. We went to Wells Fargo instead and they did it in a few minutes, no charge.
