This is the most cursed, busted, nastiest post office on earth, I'm fairly certain. A few weeks ago I stepped out of my car to a actual river of urine and trash bags filled with actual feces, most definitely human and electrical cords criss crossing the parking lot with cars parked on top. It is insanity. The tagging (the bad variety) the absolute lack of any semblance of sanitation and just outright disrespect for themselves and anyone that needs to actually mail a letter or pick up mail from a post box, is just ridiculous. Just nasty and pathetic because nobody on earth should be forced to live this way. With Measure H and many other billions of dollars "invested", DTLA looks like a dumpster infested with STDs on fire. And then they put it out with urine. Welcome to Westlake, where your dreams go to... get infected with preventable diseases? NOPE. NEVER. NOT THIS. Approximately 2 months ago there was a computer glitch that "closed" a bunch of the PO Boxes, allegedly. Then all mail was returned despite never getting a renewal letter and YOU CANNOT renew unless you have it, according to the counter "help". There's one guy here who is seriously one of the worst customer service people ever. He DGAF if he helps you or anyone else and he seemed genuinely angry that I asked him a question. Apparently they are currently fencing in this area. I'm not sure how that will help but I'm sure the fire station across the street doesn't miss this encampment that's been here for the past few years. It's appalling and tragic anyone lives this way in our "first world" country. I've seen cleaner bathrooms in bus stations than this fiasco. RUNNNNNnnnn! read more

I really want to show this Post Office location some love. It hasn't gotten the polish it deserves (really - no post offices have in the past decade). The folks working there are awesome. And I wanted to shout out the guy who works behind the "mysterious" door who brought me Priority Mail FROM/TO stickers because I asked nicely. Honestly, so many people bag on this location because of the OUTSIDE. How about being kind and thoughtful to our hard-working postal workers and make it a great experience for everybody. read more

Incompetent mix-up! Train your staff better! I stopped by my local USPS with a stack of 5x7 letter envelopes containing very important milestone announcements for family. The first clerk glanced at them, grabbed a sheet of stamps, and said, "You're set--just drop them off." The stamps looked cute but it looked off from a normal Forever stamp but hey I'm no expert. I went to a second window to double-check. That employee examined the envelopes and immediately I needed additional postage on each one. She corrected the issue, but couldn't explain why the first clerk had given me the wrong stamps or why no one had checked the envelopes properly upfront. I kept asking and she said "I don't have time for this I have a long line". I said " you should tell your coworker then that she gave me wrong instructions". If I had followed the original instructions and dropped them off as-is, my recipients would likely have received "postage due" notices or the cards would have been returned to me. Not the way you want important family news to arrive! Staff should know the basics! Postcard stamps versus letter postage and when something needs extra handling. One clerk fixed it, but the initial confusion wasted time and created unnecessary risk. read more

The outside of this location doesn't look great and might intimidate a lot of people but we found available parking. I went in to get my passport and the staff there were so sweet and helpful, even though we had to wait a bit for my appointment, I had a great experience. read more

The service here is horrible, HORRIBLE!! You'll have a line of people and you'll see these lazy employees on their phones, eating, talking amongst each other without a care in the world. The inside of the post office was clean and well-organized. A special thank you to the gentleman who took my daughter's passport photo. He was incredibly patient and made the process easy for us. The only concern I had was with the outside of the building. One of the entrances is often surrounded by homeless people. While I understand this is a broader issue facing many cities, it can feel a little overwhelming, especially with small children. read more

This place has the HORRIBLE and The TERRIBLE customer service. While long line of people are waiting to be serviced, their postal clerk will be busy taking care of her appearance whether her hair was placed perfectly or not and etc.... On top of that she has BAD Attitude. She won't provide me a receipt. She just throw my package elsewhere. She had no intention of shipping out. I requested supervisor, she said she will talk to the clerk, but it did not seem like supervisor is actually seeing the real issue here. I had to request my receipt again from the supervisor and she said bar code on my package isn't readable. I took the same package to another USPS location. They had no issue scanning the bar code. I came here since it was the closest post office to me at the time and I was in a rush to send out a package. When I got there, there was a line of people and they were all complaining. Turns out some of the workers were busy chatting with each other instead of helping the people in line. Then when they helped one person, they ran off somewhere and didn't come back until another 10 minutes later laughing as they walked back to the counter. I arrived at this post office around 5:20 PM, which was before closing time. After waiting in line for about 30 minutes, it was finally my turn, but the staff member told me I was too late and asked me to come back the next day. There is an older, overweight gentleman who works at the counter here. he hardly has any hair left on his head, and wears glasses. He is the most unprofessional, and dismissive person I have ever had to encounter at a USPS mailing service. Which isn't saying much, as nearly every single person that works for USPS is the same. I'm not sure if that is a requirement to be hired. I have spent 6 months waiting for a package now, that was unfortunately shipped with USPS. It has already been returned to sender once. My package is now finally back here in L.A. It has been "processing" since December 9th. Even though I am signed up for informed delivery, and have an account with USPS, I cannot for the life of me find out where this package is. I'm extremely heartbroken. This package was a gift. It still IS a gift. I was shown no kindness, no understanding, and no help specifically from this man. I just want to have this solved. I do not understand why I wasn't treated with any decency. I shipped out multiple boxes of orders to a client in Kansas and one ended up in Alaska. These were priority mailboxes, and it was their mistake to send it to Alaska!!! and they made it seem like they can't do anything about it. The least you can do is refund me the shipping cost so that I can refund it towards my clients invoice so that I won't lose a client because of their incompetence. This is not just this branch issue. I went to this post office and when I was the next to be helped in line I walked up to the counter and the UPS service representative at that counter named Paula started shouting NO NO NO NO NO NO NO and this confused me because there was someone just before me that she was helping there was no indication that her booth was closed and I'm just very shocked that I was initially with rudeness when I don't believe I gave any sort of rudeness to her to begin with. I was maybe 4th/5th in line as I waited to send a package. I ended up being there for at least 45 minutes or more. Do NOT go here if you're in a rush. As I waited, I watched as only 1 out of 3 windows accepted cash. Which helped me skip people since I had a card. But it also extended the line out the door. What really got to me was this. An older lady with a medical condition that doesn't allow her to stand came to the counter to complain that she's been waiting awhile for someone to go to the pick up door so she can get her package. The agent informed her manager and sent him over to help the older woman. The manager half heartedly was about to walk over but an off site money man (I don't know what you call the people who pickup money from places) comes to the back and he went to hob nob with him. Taking his slow time. The customers were waiting at the pickup door for over 30 minutes and the manager is being lackadaisical about their time. You're in the customer service industry. Please do better. There's plenty of parking but the area is sketchy and the lit was full of trash. The overall vibe of the building feels unkept. But safe due to the bars. Rarely do I have a good time at usps, especially in Los Angeles city locations. I can in your this location that I never go to and needed a mail label. I have been yelled at by usps workers for really having any type of question. But I met a beautiful and wonderful ray of light named Tori who worked at this location. Not only did she help me efficiently and sweetly. But she gave the same kindness to every single person who came in the door within the 5 minutes of me being there. On Thursday afternoon, January 7, 2021, I cannot help but mention the African American female employee who worked at the counter at this USPS Branch. This woman tried to ignore my general questions so many times and acted as if she did not understand me. She also many times raised her voice and got angry and urged me to do the things quickly in front of others. I never took a time long in front of her counter today. I just looked into my cell phone to check the recipient address again. As they work with this mindset, public officials who are good at other things are criticized. Many times U.S. officials seem to act like they are kings and citizens are servants. In short, she acts as if she was in a higher position. I guess the USPS is the place where they being hired forever. As the cycle of hiring someone like this civil servant continues, only good American citizens are becoming unhappy. Located off of 7th Street. They have a small private parking lot which is awesome. You have to turn into the driveway right before the actual office. There is a ton of metal bars around the building and bullet proof windows. One of the most secured USPS locations I have seen. Pretty sketch area so I would expect nothing less. Most customers were buying MOs and have pity on these people who would line up and wait for their turns just to be attended to. Today I experienced hands down the worst customer experience ever! Got to the post office with about 45min left until closing there was a decently long line maybe about 20-25ppl so I expected to wait regardless. Time keeps passing and the line is not moving much! 20Minutes pass customers are starting to question what the hold up is fellow person in line ask the employee behind the glass when she's going to start helping ppl again at this point it's already passed 530 she literally held her finger up gesturing to wait a sec she and her co worker disappeared. 10Min a later a employee of usps comes downstairs from the office and tells all 20 plus customers in line the employees behind the desk ALL CLOCKED OUT! They not once communicated they were finished helping ppl just simply up and left us waiting smh! The funniest part is one of the ladies working behind the counter older African American lady with curly hair who has a tendency to be unprofessional and rude as hell always ask customers to scan QR codes on receipts to complete their surveys I'll be honest I've never done so but have never felt so inclined to actually complete a survey regarding this post office now! Beyond unprofessional I get work can be tough on people but communicate with your customers clocking out and leaving without saying anything and throwing the burden on another co worker who never works out front to deliver this message knowing customers are going to be upset just shows lack of accountability! There should be a no star option. Generally I just come to drop off packages and I'm out. But 2 times I've had to come pick up mail that has been return and the black chubby lady that answers that specific door (mail pick up / vacation hold) is always on a bad mood, even before you finish explaining anything she raises her voice and cuts you off. I've seen many people arguing with her of how unfriendly she is. Heck, she doesn't have to be friendly but don't make it that obvious you hate your job. Truth be told. A little kindness and you will get the best service here. I have lived in this community since 1994. Have a postal box at this location. Sure they are understaffed and in a neighborhood with a lot of people. Go there at the wrong time of day and there will be a line.
