First time we went it was a great experience, so we figured we'd come back. When we got there two large families were already waiting. One said their apartment was for 11am (we got there at 1pm for our 1:15pm appointment) & it was two hours later with still no service. The second family said their apartment was at 1 and hadn't spoken to anyone in regard to their appointment, because the first appointment still wasn't finished. Both families complained to the front desk. We wound up just leaving after a half hour when we realized no one was being helped or the line wasn't moving. This was for the passport line. read more

passport staff are extremely rude and not helpful. I never had any issues with anyone at the post office until I went for this office.

This little post office is notoriously outdated and slower than molasses. Just to give you an example, It's lunch time and there's only one lady working the desk. ONE. The line is already to the 2nd set of doors. Also, why is this place stuck in 1992? There's no kiosk or weigh station for packages and postage, making the line even longer. Yikes! Get with the program, please! Avoid like the plague unless you want to admire the unique postage boxes and the mural above. read more

Came here to update my son's passport. This is only one you can walk in. If you dont have an appointment though, you may have to wait up to 3 hours. The young woman who was there KNOWS what she is doing. Emily, does everything with precision and expertise. She knows how to put the passport things together and she does it quickly and effortlessly. She also has an extremely pleasant personality to go along with her knowledge. We were somewhat unsure of how to get it done, and she breezed us thru the process. We were done so quickly I still cannot believe how fast it was. If anyone goes there, have a smile and a nice attitude because I'm sure as Emily can be the sweetest, she could possibly get you out much slower. Try her nice because she is so nice! read more

All around nice post office, staff is extremely efficient and friendly, which goes a long way. I always come here to mail out cards and to get stamps and such. They also have a lot of P.O. Boxes at fair prices as well. The line is never to long, and the one time it was I waited like 4 mins ( I come here a few times a month) read more

They never ring the bell when a package requires a signature. The mailman just goes directly to the mail box (without the package) and leaves the ticket to go pick it up. More than once I've actually caught him. read more

Went to ship a medium/large package on Dec. 15 and explicitly stated it needed to arrive in Florida before Christmas. I was given three options and chose the cheapest, USPS Ground, which estimated delivery on Dec. 21. At no point did the postal worker I spoke with even hint that the package could possibly arrive later and that a pricier option might be safer. After vanishing from tracking for two weeks, the package suddenly reappeared one day after I was permitted to file an official claim. It's now scheduled to arrive on Jan. 5, three weeks after I shipped it. Upon speaking with a manager at the office, I was told they only offer compensation for delayed overnight deliveries and I should've just sent it that way. They take no accountability for their incompetence. read more

This is The Worst post office, worst service, worst POST MASTER unfortunately I reside in this zone and have to deal with it daily. Never on time, when ever you try to call either busy or they hung up on customers. I try to talk to the post master few times, such a nasty person to deal with, no wonder why everyone else treat customers this way. SHAME ON YOU!!!! read more

Waited over an hour just to purchase envelopes. There were at least 3 employees behind the counter including the manager. Only one teller was open trying to help the line of people out the door. The manager refused to man the other register and help with the line. read more

I've been here a few times for postage and things of that nature. This review is more for the passport processing side. We came in on a Saturday to process a renewal for my daughter who is a minor. We waited about 15-20 minutes because we didn't have an appointment and there were already three people ahead of us. Once it was our turn, we were in and out. To save time you can fill out the forms online and print them. Make sure not to sign anything until your in front of them and bring your check book if you can. The lady who helped us was super nice and answered all of our questions. Once she called us up, we were in and out within about 5 minutes. She told us exactly what to write on each check as well as the amounts. I would totally recommend anyone to come here but call ahead of time for and make an appointment if you don't want to wait. Also check their office hours as they differ from the hours of the main post office. read more

Just for your information Lynbrook residents.............. Not once but TWICE within a 3 week period we tracked our Amazon packages we ordered and it said that the Lynbrook post office delivered our packages to our address. Wrong! Lies! They were delivered on 2 different occasions to someone else's address and...... when we called and spoke TWICE to the supervisor within 3 weeks,we were treated like it was no big deal on their part,you got your packages right. Ya, after they were dropped off by who knows who - wasn't the mailman and another brought to us by a 90 year old neighbor in the freezing cold. They are terrible! They Lie and the lady supervisor had a nasty tone,non- appologetic,rude, totally tried to dismiss my question on why this was happening. It happened around 8 different times around the holidays but we only complained twice. Then she called me a name. We are not taken this matter lightly until some people are replaced. I am a lifelong Lynbrook resident and Never experienced this type of delivery service from our post office until recently. So beware residents and good luck? We have lost total faith in our postal delivery service. On a positive note I can say any time I have gone down to the post office,the inside staff have been totally professional. But as far as the supervisor and mailman-woman handling our mail......their needs to be a Shakeup down there. read more
