This post office is run like a well-oiled machine! I live right in between this location and the one in Redondo on Artesia. For whatever reason I drove to the one on Artesia- the week before Christmas and it was what I expected, extremely long line that was moving at a snail's pace. I also noticed they didn't have one of those self-serve kiosks like they do at this one. I decided to take a chance and drove over. Wow, it was like night and day! No line, and service was FAST. I went to the manhattan beach location there were 10 people in line and one clerk. a women in line was arguing for over 15 minutes why her zip code was correct the clerk told her it was wrong. she started to google for a long time while everyone waited. They take long. lunches and close the facility while they do this....does not bother to include the time on their posted note that only states "closed for lunch". This fat person (found out her name is Keisha) with long nails suddenly sticks her fat arm out the backdoor to hand someone their package then disappeared after stating she is at lunch for another 30 minutes. People have been standing in line for an hour. smh read more

Went to this post office at 4p on a Monday with an urgent Priority Mail package, only to find it closed. It was not a holiday and well-before the posted closing time of 5p. Then, after using the self-service machine, I tried to put the package in the drop box and it was jammed and couldn't be opened to accept any more packages. As I had already been to the Hermosa Beach location (only to find their computer system down and unable to process packages) I gave up in frustration. What should have taken five minutes, ended up taking an hour or more. USPS can no longer be trusted. I will be taking packages to UPS from now on, even if it is more expensive. read more

Wow I'm appalled at the "service" I did not receive today. I rushed to the Hermosa Beach USPS around 4:40 after work to send out a few packages. However their printers were broken so the kind lady there suggested I go to this Manhattan Beach location. I rushed over as fast as I could and ran in the doors between 5:00 and 5:01 on the dot. I stood in line and then the rude lady at the desk yelled at me in front of everyone that "WE'RE CLOSED!! THAT's the last customer!!", pointing to someone two people ahead. I said "are you serious? It's 5:01 and I was sent over here in a rush due to broken printers at the other location. She rudely said no again so I left. The other old lady that got kicked out of line despite being there before 5:00 was able to use the kiosk but I needed a QR code label. The doors were unlocked. Myself and the other lady were rudely yelled at and kicked out in front of several other people. We are all overworked and underpaid. The lack of decency and manners was so incredibly disgusting. I have to now apologize to the people waiting on me to send those packages. I work too. I get it. I know this won't matter but wow I get why some people turn into "Karens" after being treated like that. Gotta love government agencies! No accountability. I'd lose my job if I did that crap. read more

Avoid at all costs! Drive out of your way to another USPS if you have to. You have been warned! I am a fashion reseller who frequent USPS often, but first timer at this location. This place have the rudest workers (both women behind the counter at the time of my visit on Jan 21st, 2025 around noon time) that I have encountered at a post office. Her attitude, her tone of voice, and she rolled her eyes at me when I asked if she can repeat her instructions. My service request was simple, weigh my bulky but light package (under 5 lbs) to see if extra postage is needed but she acted like I am an inconvenience to her. Separately, I handled her a medium size package with pre-paid shipping label already attached. All she had to do was scan the package and provide a receipt as proof of shipment. But she never did. My family and I have been going to this post office for 50 years. The staff has changed over the years but the current staff are all great. Zena, Reneisha, Tanesha and Richard are professional, very efficient and helpful (I apologize for any mispelliing). Do I recommend the post office? SURE because I need my mail delivered asap. Do I recommend there service? Depends if you enjoy grump grandparents helping you as you ask them for priority envelopes, and after some minor convincing they actually find some in the back room. Odd, you would think they would just supply that being that we need them for PRIORITY reasons, and in some cases they just tell you to order more online, when they actually had them. I don't know if I call that lazy, but they are friendly after you bother them a bit at this location, fairly nice people in the end. Stay away! US Postal Service lost my package. It was sent first class to NY on June 2nd. As of July 9th it still hasn't been received and its destination. Since this was an eBay order, I had to reimburse the bitter and then they left me negative feedback. I'm now reading all the other Yelp reviews and it seems like sellers are being ripped off left and right from this post office. Maybe something they want to look into since it seems as if someone at this post office may have sticky fingers. read more

Omggg was this an amazing usps. I'm always going to USPS for my business and always holding multiple packages that I need to send out for my customers and waiting in line to give them to the employees but this place had no line so I just walked right up and parking was beyond easy! Apparently, There was only 1 person that could help me with what I needed and they "didn't know where she was" and wouldn't go find her. They "buzzed" her and just sat there!!!!! 20 minutes is the new "normal" wait time in the mid afternoon. Today hit 30 minutes in part to the seemingly large numbed of people hey apparently have not bought postage since Reagan was in office. One clerk had the right idea to call for anyone just buying stamps. In the future add to that "holding a yellow pickup slip". 30 minutes out of my life because something didn't fit in my box is excessive to say the least. This was the second USPS I visited to deliver an Operation Santa gift. The first office I visited wasn't trained nor knowledgeable of the service I was explaining. The male worker at the Manhattan Beach USPS that assisted me was very knowledgeable, quick and efficient. Worse experience ever. On December 29th I paid for express priority mail for a important package to be delivered at a Manhattan Beach business. Do not use express mail through the us post office. My express overnight package is showing in their system as not delivered because office was closed on December 30th. Well the US Post Office Customer Service Deparment or this branch can not verify if my package was delivered. HORRIBLE!!! A NIGHTMARE!!! I've always met friendly faces here, but also met long lines and the USPS only supports this station usually with ONE (1) service window open, so she (usually a woman) works as fast as she can, and can only do what she can. If the line is longer than 5 people deep, consider driving down Sepulveda to the Main Station. This location is okay, there's an adjacent parking lot, so don't worry about street parking on Sepulveda (but if you do park on the street, look at the signs, they start towing cars at 3pm on some days). read more

I stopped by recently on a Saturday to mail 2 priority mail packages. It was empty and very clean! The staff was super friendly and helpful, overall a great mailing experience. I found parking easily on the street in front of the building. The inside was very clean and tidy, and there is plenty of space to package your things inside the lobby area. read more

I've had a Box here since the early 90s & I have to wonder what's going on because it's gone steadily downhill & the past couple years I dread coming here & am looking for another alternative. Most of The staff is nice but they are UNDERSTAFFED every time I come in even heavy mail days like Friday I see ONE person & a long line. I often have to leave & come back or miss appointments. 15-20 mins is standard. Other than helpful staff who have been here forever it's horrible! And the price goes up by a big percentage every year. Yet they update NOTHING. Packages get lost, I get notices to pick up something than they say nothing is there then rudely ask me why I never picked something up 2 months later. It seems so unorganized as no one can find anything more often than not. I'm worried to have anything sent here anymore. The place is old, dirty & very musty. There is little parking, it's locked way too often for access to boxes (why do we have a box then?) Can they install a pin pad for those of us that pay for the box service? The place needs to be cleaned up & updated. Look at it! Im sad to say I would go to Hermosa or Redondo if you need a PO Box. I hung in here over 2 decades now but over it unless they improve very soon. read more

Worst post office EVER!! I waited 30minutes patiently because there is only one clerk was working. When I got there she told me that I need quantity description in my package. I went back and wrote that and came back in the line and she said I need to write address on the box too even though it was written on the documents going to international. I told her, I've been doing same way for 10years and I understand if it has changed the way which it happens sometimes. She said it has change the way. All post offices are always short staffed--- dealing with rude customers one after another can't be easy. Zena has been a *wonderful* help. She's organized and always on top of things and I really appreciate her!! I've sometimes been helped by other employees and am not sure why there are so many nasty reviews? So yes it happened. USPS lost my package. I ordred dog tags from Etsy. When I didn't get my package and tracked my order....it states there was a notice left. I DID NOT get the notice. I went to the Manhattan Beach location. Granted the clerk was very nice but couldn't locate my package. She asked me to wait a few days and contact the Hawthorn location. I called the Hawthorne location after a few days. The clerk took my number down and said she'd call me back after she talks to the carrier. She never called back. I called the Hawthorne location again the next day and talked to another clerk. She told me to call her back the next morning between 8:30 - 9:30 am. I called back. No answer. I called about 15 more times between 8:30 and 10:00 am. No answer. I was about to give up until I went on the USPS website and saw that I can file a claim for a lost package. When I entered the tracking number....the system could not validate the number....therefore I couldn't file a claim....therefore my package is forever lost. I could've called the 800 number to hash this out. But why? Haven't I wasted enough time and effort? I remembered I was really angry a long time ago about another business who really screwed me over. I contacted Better Business Bureau and that particular case was resolved. So.....as of yesterday I turned in a "complaint" to Better Business Bureau. I am confident there will be a resolution because I refuse to give up. Keeping my fingers crossed. read more

BEST post office EVER. I heard it used to be open 24/7, but we all know that the postal service has seen better days. It's open until 7, and they extended the hours until midnight on tax day and had extra bins by the street for people to use, which is nice. Good, ample parking, too. it's spacious, well-staffed, and actually has NICE and helpful employees, which is a total anomaly for post offices. I was shocked, too. I know you don't believe me, but you can see it to believe it. There is nothing not to like about this branch. I wish I lived closer. Plus, it's near the LAX In-N-Out if you're a Fatty Fatty Princess like me and like to reward yourself with animal style fries after you handle your bizness. read more

This review is for the USPS in general - not this location in particular. 1. Service is generally painful at all locations - wait in a long line for understaffed service. Staff seems tired and most (but not all) don't seem to care. When you come across a staff that goes out of their way you are thrilled and shocked. It does happen on occasion! 2. First Class means nothing - post is taking 10 days plus to get across the country and even a week to travel across the city. Something is broken or severely understaffed. 3. I go to UPS and overpay just to avoid the pain and lack of dependability of the USPS. 4. I wish I could give zero stars. The employees at this location (especially the manager) are incredibly rude and lazy. I overheard a conversation between the manager and another employee. They were loudly joking about coming to work with Covid, and how they really hoped they didn't get any local "Manhattan Beach b****es sick" (while laughing). They also told me they weren't accepting anymore packages for the day, and this was at 1:30pm. I proceeded to drop off my package at the self service machine. The manager grabbed my package, got really close to me, aggressively pushed my package at me, and said, "I told you! We ain't accepting anymore packages!" Then proceeded to walk back into the normal mail room whilst loudly telling the other employees, "this is the sh*t I was telling you about. These white b****es are racist". Really rude and incredibly insulting. Especially because I wasn't rude whatsoever, never made any racist remarks, and this person knows nothing about my heritage or family. I would highly suggest taking the extra time to drive over to the El Segundo Post Office instead. They're lovely over there! read more

Get some employees who don't mind doing their jobs. One guy sitting, doing nothing, yapping away at his co-worker, could not have been less helpful. I simply asked how much it would cost to mail something to the address on the label which was already attached to my package ... "you'll have to tape up the bag and write down the address". Do you have any tape? Can't even unfold his arms from across his body to point and says "we have some for sale over there, you'll need to buy it". This location is horrible... The people who work at is location are rude and act like you're inconveniencing them. They bark at you as if your a dog. I no longer want to send anything via USPS. I now understand why FEDEX and UPS takes all the business and the United States post office is struggling. The US Post Office needs to reevaluate the people they have working for them. They need to re-interview everyone for their position because customer service has completely failed and doesn't exist. Parking is kind of tough as it's located right off the main road. I believe there is a parking lot in the back but it's not very big. I walked here from my house in MB. I would recommend going to this particular USPS if you're in the south bay as it seems less busy right before closing time. Disregard the previous statement if time doesn't matter to you. Anyway, this place is just your standard USPS. I was sending a care package to a friend serving overseas and they couldn't find the box number. I had done this previously at other USPSs and insisted that the address exists. Anyway, after trying to find the address in the system, they decided to just hand jam the address and send it anyway. I figured I could chance it with the sorting facility in Chicago. Anyway, the customer service was about what you would expect at a USPS which is why I gave this place three stars. read more

As most stations are ho hum, this one is pretty convenient when you're heading from LAX to the beach. Staff is quite accommodating. You'll get a smile every now & then too. If you're discouraged by the lines, use the Automated Postal Center in their lobby. If you are shipping express using their boxes or envelopes, they are located inside. They rarely have a stack of supplies in their lobby. Don't be discouraged by the broken lever on the large mailbox used for Priority Mail packages. You need to grab the barrel with both hands & give it a bit of a tug (without squishing your fingers in the process). There's street parking on "The 1" or on the south side of their building. Remember though that you will be ticketed and towed if you street park between 3 PM & 7 PM. There's also overflow parking in their lot on 10th (immediately to the south). If you want a swankier facility, go to the El Segundo facility on Mariposa. read more

Check post office hours on USPS.com. Post office hours have changed in the past year. Most are now closing earlier than posted on their windows. This post office has parking on the street on Sepulveda - curb painted green (I believe it's 30min parking), and also has a small lot in the back (entrance on 10th street). This location is not super busy, and employees working here seem to be quicker and more alert than your typical post office employee. read more
