I wasn't sure I would find a local phone number for any local post offices in Barnstable, because USPS wants all the calls directed to their 800 number, which normally is not very helpful for me since all they actually see is the same tracking I am able to see. Yet, I decided to look for a local number online and I was able to find the one for this particular location in Barnstable. Right away, I was able to speak to a lovely woman named Shirley and after looking through a few packages she was able to find mine and let me know that it was a barcode error and that she would be sending the package directly back to me instead of having to wait for it to be processed once again in Providence, where it had already been over three days ago. What a relief! Not only was I lucky enough to call the correct post office in Barnstable, but I reached someone who was so happy to help me. I am truly grateful!

After fainting at the bank with a blood pressure apparently sponsored by powdered sugar and dehydration, Ash calmly: retrieved my certified mail secured the envelopes maintained operational continuity informed EMTs, "She's a fainter" and kept the United States Postal Service moving like the last functioning institution in America. No panic. No confusion. Just calm New England efficiency and commitment to procedural excellence. At one point I was horizontal while my legal documents continued their journey through the federal mail system. Honestly inspiring.
