Small post office but very busy. A lot of PO boxes here and people dropping and picking up mail. Parking lot is a bit small and a lot of spots reserved for the other businesses, so not the easiest to park and go inside. Still, pretty efficient service. Was in and out after 5min wait. read more

we have lived in the 07960/07950 zip code for over 70 years and slowly watched the decline in daily delivery of first class mail. Our son's family lives in Mendham NJ and mailed his Christmas cards on 9/16/23. Our daughter's family lives in 07950 and received her card on 12/20. We have still not received our card at 18 Max Drive on 12/23. The delivery at this address has been erratic since we moved in six years ago. Perhaps we should turn over mail delivery to UPS or Amazon. read more

Three windows but only one clerk and a bunch of people in line - that's my standard experience at the Ridgedale pest office. On this most recent stop I must say that Teddy, the lady clerk, was pleasant, helpful and quick once I finally got to the front of the line. Parking is a disaster too, difficult to get a spot. Just too many businesses not to mention letter carriers jammed into one tiny strip mall. Hey postmaster - this place desperately needs one of those automated postal machines like the one in Morris Plains so customers like me could help ourselves, there's plenty of room out front, but no sign of it argh. read more

Between the increased mail volumes due to COVID and the decreased staffing and budgets cuts-thanks Louis DeJoy-The Post office is tasked with doing ALOT more with ALOT less. And they seem to be getting it done. I had a delivery glitch that a supervisor went in the back to research and he emerged several minutes later with my package. Yes the lines tend to be somewhat long at times but that is due to patrons needing passports/photographs for themselves and their children, having 10+ items to be weighed and processed, or buying enough Money Orders to retire the national debt. The clerks at the front desk are friendly and efficient; Teddy in particular is a gem. It's a much closer ride for me to the Morris Plains Post Office but the elapsed time is actually less when I go the the Ridgedale Ave. branch. read more

Terrible service. This petite Hispanic women was so rude. I was trying to show her my barcode on my phone and I got a phone call at the same time she said rudely that I can't see it. I said sorry and said I'll step out of line, which nobody was in line at the time fyi. Then I asked if they had tape. She said nope and the other lady that was nice a little older than her and gave me a roll of tape. I then waited back in line after taping my package and got the same grumpy lady she said 3.99. I said oh I didn't know I had to pay for shipping. I was about to leave and she said don't forget your tape. I said no the other lady gave it to me. She said you paid for it. Ok next time you are going to charge someone for tape please tell them. That is not called for they had two changes to say you have to pay for the tape and didn't tell me. I thought that is very rude. I will never go back to this post office. I will drive to Morris plains instead where they are nice and genuine. I will also choose ups over usps any day they don't charge for tape. I do always try to be nice to the post office people because I know a lot of people are rude to them. I was just charged 60 cents for a postcard which is 2 cents more than a regular 1st class stamp and 20 cents more than what a postcard stamp! Of course, I didn't realize this until after I left. The business I work for has used this post office for many years. However, we find that they consistently charge more than others in the area which is why we usually go to ANY OTHER post office when we have large quantities of non-standard mail. I generally have had great experiences with this post office and Teddy and the ladies up front are always very nice and helpful but has anyone ever dealt with the supervisor named Sabeer? I just had to call and check on the package and dealt with him. Very rude, should not be talking to customers. The only reason I write this is because I've actually heard of others in the area complain about him. Melina btw was awesome! She understands how you should speak to a customer. I think they should reevaluate who where is the supervisor title at that office and either get that guy some training or find him a new career path. read more

LITERALLY SLEEPING ON THE JOB!!! I can't begin to say how rude the management is in this post office. I was waiting for a package that was extremely time sensitive. I tried calling but after five attempts of iver 40 rings the phone was finally answered by someone identifying themself as a supervisor. They were rude and raised their voice, put me on hold for 15 minutes to look into it and then hung up on me. Going in person doesn't offer any better results, if you can get someone to come upfront they are already looking to fight with the customer. Yesterday october 18th I was picking up a friend near 44 prospect and saw two suits in a van following a carrier instead of at The office providing customer service. The topper is one suit was driving the other one around while he was SLEEPING. No wonder the postal service is losing money!!!! read more

It's too bad I can't leave a no star rating. Once again I had the misfortune to have Alexis "help" me. Her arrogance, disdain, and demeanor let you know, in no uncertain terms, that you are taking her away from some more important task. Having to wait on people is not on her priority list. Today I had multiple letters, all with differing issues, which is why I was forced to subject myself to stopping in. After asking me what stamps I needed, I explained that I didn't know which is why I was at the window. I then laid all my mail out for her to scrutinize and make judgement calls without weight or, for the most part, touching them. Alexis does not feel it's her job to affix the stamps or even take the mail once I had stamped them all. I carried them into the foyer and mailed them myself. There is no guarantee that there will be a post office in the next decade, and with people like her at the window, the chances plummet. read more

After an unfortunate experience at the other USPS location in Morristown, I was sent to the Ridgedale location in hopes to find my missing package. It had been out for delivery and was marked as being "refused by the addressee". (It was not.) I was told that I could hold the package at the post office and come pick it up on Saturday morning before it would be returned to the sender. When I arrived, no one could locate my package and the associates responded to me with an attitude on multiple occasions, as if it was my fault that they could not find my package. Parking is not ideal at this location. The only reason I'd give them two stars is because of the only person I had a positive interaction with, Omar. He was a very kind man who assisted me a few days prior over the phone after I had called USPS' customer service to open a case for my missing package. read more

Wow what a rude state employee. Cassie would not give me her name and hung up on me and had the nastiest attitude I have ever dealt with. I was not rude to her at all. I was trying to track and find a package that they said was delivered. I had to call back and ask Ashanti what the previous lady's name was. This post office is what hell must be like. Instead of forwarding my package to my new address, the workers at this post office just kept "forwarding" it without putting a new address on the package. So a month after I should have received my package I'm calling to figure out what happened, had to talk to 4 different people, never got a call back, waited on hold for 30 minutes total, just for them to say they needed to wait for the carrier to get back to the office, at an undetermined time this afternoon. I'm thinking I'm not going to be getting a call back ever. read more

They suck beyond belief. I am moving--thank the blessed Baby Jesus! and asked my mail to be forwarded next week. The lovely Morristown Post Assfice decided to start rejecting my mail and sending it back to sender or forwarding it and I am not in my new place yet and it's not even mine til next week. The carriers are lazy and don't follow instructions, like when you tape a giant sign to your mail box that says to call you at x number if they have a package for you, and you sit home all day waiting and then you get a notice saying you weren't there and they had a "delivery exception." The door was open, but did they try opening it and leaving teh package inside the vestibule? Of course not because that would be too much effort! Can't wait til PO system goes bankrupt forever and capable private shipping companies take over. Second suckiest post office in the country after Van Brunt station in Brooklyn. Passive aggressive tellers, and they pretend to be a passport location but the office is ALWAYS closed. ZERO STARS. read more

My boyfriend and I went to mail two packages (large, flat rate, priority mail). We had been to this post office before and we had also mailed the same packages without having to purchase tape to seal the boxes. The employee on that day was courteous and incredibly helpful. This was not the case the second time. We encountered a different employee, Chris who said that we must purchase the tape and seal the boxes ourselves. Now, we would have had no issue with this, however Chris neglected to tell us this until we made it to the front of a long line with unsealed boxes. We had to step out of line and tape the boxes ourselves and then pay for the boxes as well as the tape. Since we had to take time to do this, we were waited on by another employee while Chris stepped away for a smoke break (and presumably to ruin someone else's day). The second employee, Jason was stellar and even told us that priority mail tape is offered at no extra charge. Had we known this we would have saved the hassle of buying unnecessary tape and having to tape up the boxes ourselves. This rating reflects the laziness and surly attitude of Chris and does not take into account Jason, who provided great service. If you go here, wait until Jason is free. We will not be dealing with Chris ever again. read more

The Ridgedale Post office is in shambles. Mail is not delivered with any consistency and several of the workers are unprofessional. We have been using the post office for over 30 years and the service continues to decline. Businesses need mail delivered on a timely and accurate basis and it is not happening at this location. I regularly receive other mailbox mail and I have had mail take weeks to get to me-not sure where in the path the delay occurs but I do know there are periods I go for mail after 3 days and don't even have any junk mail and then it is stuffed. Are people working in the back each day or when the mood hits? Are the employees being held to any level of quality? I can't even call the post office directly and speak to someone. I have the misfortune to be serviced from this post office for my mail delivery. Where do I start? I continually receive mail for other homes. Apparently the mail carrier cannot read. If I am getting mail meant for others, I wonder who is getting my mail. The post office cannot follow simple instructions regarding suspension and resumption of mail delivery. I have submitted both online requests and the "yellow card" to do this. A sample of what has resulted: My around the corner neighbor had my yellow suspension card delivered to her mailbox. Mail was delivered after I requested that delivery stop. Mail was not delivered when I asked for it to resume. My across the street neighbor requested suspension of HIS mail, and the PO stopped MY mail delivery and continued delivering his. I have no regular mail carrier, the people are always changing. I don't know if the PO employees are dunces or just don't care, but they are lucky to have jobs. Performance like that in a for-profit business would get them fired pronto. read more

My package has been out for delivery for 2 weeks! I've made multiple calls trying to find it. The first time they actually called me back, but every time after that they seemed to know who I was but never called back when they said they needed to "investigate" this. This is probably the most inefficient post office with the most unprofessional employees I know in NJ. I mailed a priority box with confirmation receipt that I dropped off at this post office. I got a notice that it came back undeliverable because the recipient could not pick it up as he was deployed. I had requested for the package to be sent back to me (the sender), if in case it could not be delivered. For days, the online tracking read, "being held in Whippany, NJ." I became concerned when after 5 days, there was no delivery of this package to my house so I decided to pick it up myself at the Whippany address as indicated online. My GPS took me to Parsippany, and then Whippany but there were no post offices at these addresses! So I thought I better visit the post office where I originally dropped it off which is this Morristown post office. Only one staff was at the window with a line of customers. Finally, it was my turn and I explained the issue. I informed them that I had been trying to phone them but no one was picking up. The lady was rude, saying that no one answers their phones because they just don't have the time. The Whippany address that is online when you track the package is a bogus address and the worker acknowledged this. "This is the only location. There is no Morristown post office in Whippany," she said. She then said, "I don't think your package is here. Have you called your mail man?" I said, "Well, I tried calling you but no one was answering." She told me to come back the next day. I said, "No, I took a half day off to come here. Please look in the back. Maybe it's there." She then called another worker, and both of these ladies were rolling their eyes, shaking their heads and looked annoyed. This is when I said, "Please don't roll your eyes like that. I asked with respect, so please treat your customers respectfully." One worker yelled from the other counter and said, "I am not rolling my eyes. Look at me!" Whoa! To make this long story short, I asked her to take my number so she could call me or ask the mail man to call me about this lost package. They/she could have suggested that. The package was delivered to my mail box 2 days later. I would never use this post office again. The staff need to be taught basic customer service. read more
