All these negative reviews don't even begin to describe the experience I had here. The girl who accepted my package had an attitude from the second I stepped up to the window- she rolled her eyes at me for absolutely no reason, moved extra slow to piss me off more, and I looked around to find that all the other customers were getting the same treatment. Nice, polite people just trying to use their local post office get treated like inmates or something. It's disgusting and whoever is in charge or hiring over there needs to make a change because I know they make good money, a smile and some politeness should not be that much to ask for. The lady that helped me mail my package seemed nice the day I mailed my box but its ben 2 weeks now and I still have not gotten my package in the mail. The manager Ramsey refuse to help me get a duplicate of my receipt and they won't look up my transactions I paid with my debit card. They ask what lady helped me and then supposedly she no longer works there and her system is locked and there's no way to access her system to find out who she mailed packages for. I told them I knew the date and time but they didn't care. I call other post offices they said that post office can look up the details but it just seems like they don't wanna do their job and take 5 minutes to help me. The manager says his name is Ramsey keeps telling me call back later they are busy like I'm not a customer. I call back and he won't pick up the phone when I contact him he tells me to call at 930am I call and he's not In for work yet. I told him I live in Arizona and I was in NYC for my daughter and grandmothers birthday and the package has her gifts. At that point he told me I need to fly back to new York and request the information in person. He got mad at me when I asked him to work with me because that doesn't make sense. Ramsey was no help but making me mad so I hung up. The next time I called several times and a kind gentleman named McKnight help me locate my tracking number and delivery info within 5 minutes and I ben calling for a whole week now. That's messed up Ramsey has ben a jerk for no reason and giving me the run around. Now I'm thinking that guy is seriously bipolar and has horrible social skills and customer service skills everything is all about arguing to him how the hell is he even a manager! read more

One of the better post offices I have been to. Dare I say it but surprisingly I have to give the USPS a thumbs up review! Clerk was super helpful and I was in and out in minutes. Clean station, bright, and still looks fairly new. Open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. Closed on weekends. Even with a line of people in front of me they kept it moving fairly quick. Small branch that does the job right and close to my office. Win! read more

Wednesday 10:22AM Greeley Station, Chelsea- Flatiron New York, NY 2014 Postal clerks appear robotic and generally disgruntled. I arrived walking through the ropes in hopes to be second in line to wait fifteen agonizing minutes to be served. Suddenly a woman out of nowhere blurted out (not standing properly in line between the ropes) coarsely stated "I'm next!" as she purposely wanted that clerk to serve her specifically in Spanish. Ergo, I had to go back to the start waiting for another fifteen minutes with only three clerks on duty. Standing there I felt very dizzy carrying a 5 lb. box that I nearly fainted onto the ground as it was hot and the air was not circulating sufficiently. I had to return a item purchased online from Forever 21 due to sizing issue. USPS: "How fast do you want it to get there?" Me: What are the options? What is the difference between the speed? USPS: "HOW FAST DO YOU WANT IT TO GET THERE???!!!? DO YOU WANT IT TO GET THERE NEXT WEEK???!!!" in a very abrasive and coarsely tone Me: Next week is fine. USPS: "Do you want it insured?" Me: How much can I insure it? USPS: "WHAT IS THE ITEM WORTH?" in a very vulgar tone Me: About $18.00, no I decline the insurance. Whoa, such abrasive tonal attitude!! The staff at the Greeley Square PO (4 E 27TH ST NEW YORK, NY 10001-9994) have been incredibly rude and inefficient on more than one occasion. Today, a clerk refused to take a pre-posted package because I had printed out the label a couple of days ago; they said "it will look like I'm late." This comment was the only thing they said; they didn't greet me or provide clear instructions. When I inquired with another clerk, they yelled that I should place my package in an unattended pile of neglected, unsupervised packages at a remote window. There was no line and there were only a couple of other customers. I went to another post office location (Madison Sq 149 E 23rd St, New York, NY 10010) where they helped me with the same package with a smile, clarity, and efficiency. This is not the first time staff has been rude at Greeley Sq and helpful at Madison Sq. I commend the Madison Square station! For the good of our community, please improve the poor management, morale, and manners at the Greeley Square station. read more

This post office has the best customer service I have ever experienced. Everyone was so cordial and helpful. I called a list of 35 USPS locations within 25 miles from Manhattan where they are still processing new passports during COVID 19. This was one of the few locations who answered the phone and the only location that agreed to process my newborn passport. The person on the phone was very nice and helpful. We made our appointment on line and showed up the day scheduled. The person processing the passport could had not been any nicer. Everyone arruine was extremely nice and helpful as well. That jiu for your services and for being willing to help people during COVID 19. All other USPS locations denied the service of processing passports. read more

While the line is often long when you walk in, the windows are staffed and it moves quickly. They have one self service machine where there is usually no line and their envelopes and forms are well stocked. And they usually have a good selection of fun stamps. There are other post offices in the area where the people are super nasty. I always come here. read more

The man (didn't catch his name) working the front proactively helping customers with any questions (didn't even know this person existed at a PO??) was so polite and helpful. Then, at the counter (there wasn't a single soul in line) I spoke with Luis Colon. He was so helpful and friendly - not only did he suggest doing media mail (a much cheaper option) for me he did it with a smile on his face. Anyway, very pleasantly surprised. This post office is one of the newest post offices in NYC, this post office was once located on 31st street but moved to this new location for some reason. This post office location is brand spiking new but a bit out of my way. I do like coming in and being able to ship my Packages quietly, in very rare occasions this post office gets packed but for the most part it is peaceful and quite. The best part about this post office is that they have a special door designated just for pre-paid packages which is a plus for me since you don't have to wait in line just to drop of any of your pre-paid packages. Im a fan of this post office location, just wish they didn't move to this location because now I have to walk a few blocks. read more

I stopped in here for help with a passport renewal application. My local post office is The Literal Worst™ and requires an appointment for passport services. This location accepts walk-ins for passport services as well as passport photos. There were only two people ahead of me and the line moved quickly- maybe 10 minutes, tops. The line for mail was nonexistent as there were 3 attendants that were available to immediately serve anyone who came in. The passport clerk was super helpful, and took my photo and helped me get my application ready to drop into the mailbox all in about 5 minutes. I highly recommend this location! read more

Hands down best post office for customer service in the midtown area. The area is spacious, clean, well stocked with packing supplies and labels, and *gasp* they actually have working pens on the tables. Every staff member I've encountered at this post office has been friendly and patient when I have questions about different options. Fast, professional, and friendly service with a smile, I couldn't ask for anything more. Special shout out to Luis Colon who has helped me many times in the mornings. i am giving this post office 3 stars and it's only cause of the self service machines available which have more personality then the actual human postal clerks which have no personality , no heart, no care , no nothing , etc. this particular post office is on 27th st off madison ave in an area where i assume customers who live in the area might complain about any minor or major issue . it's not a big place but it's simple layout with 2 self service to the right , counter supplies also on the right side with the front area is the retail windows . my lord only one useless clerk working and 10 folks waiting on line , glad i am able to use the self service kiosk or i would bounce faster then a rubber check. as i was doing my self service biz a second window opens and lines start to move a bit . with the internet services available now you can do your postal business online but some services require a visit to your local post office which can always be hit or miss when it comes to long line but one thing is sure is that the clerks working the windows are going to make the visit memorable . read more

I just wanted to give a quick shout out to Luis Colon who works at this location! Normally, trekking to the post office is a dreaded task because the employees seem like the hate their lives and its a miserable atmosphere. However, my trip there yesterday on my lunch break was quite pleasant because of Luis. Nothing extraordinary, but he simply took the time to smile when I walked up to the counter, ask how I was, and told me to have a great afternoon. I know right - basic and nice suggestions! This post office has now lost two of my packages this week, which is just really not OK. The clerks at the windows all seem like they'd rather be doing literally anything other than helping customers, but honestly, I don't even care as long as my packages make it to where they're supposed to be. I mail a lot of things, and it's really frustrating when they don't get to where they need to be, and I blame this post office because they don't even scan them in when I bring them, and then the packages just disappear into nowhere, never to be seen again. I have always had decent service here considering most of the work I already do by myself. Aka seal my packages on my own, and then just drop off in the mail drop off box or pay for shipping at the cash register. However this morning I had placed a phone call asking if this location had any Dual use priority/express boxes that could carry items such as golf clubs. It is listed on the usps website after all, but I would hate to make the trip out only to see they don't have it. Anyway, the woman I spoke to said they had 3 left. This cashier lady started giving me an attitude for no reason at all, and kept repeating "I don't know what you're talking about." And coming up with various excuses that I was out of my mind, saying "We are not open at 8am" - to deny that I called the right office in the first place. So I responded "Well I've been awake since 7am so it's all the same. I know this is Greeley Square. I definitely spoke to someone so if you don't even know what I'm talking about, isn't it your responsibility to help me as the customer?" (Ok so maybe i didn't word that so eloquently, but something like that.) She turns to the male cashier next to her and is all "I don't know what she's talking about. Do you know what she's talking about?" I couldn't hear his response well but he didn't seem at all eager to help out either. Finally, this woman, Mel appears and she's carrying up a box. Mel was nice and showed me the two options and how I could fold the box for different services. She slightly alleviated my frustration because at least she wasn't rude. The cashier turns to me and goes "NEXT TIME, GET A NAME!" still huffing and puffing. I just found this entire experience so unprofessional. Seriously, you work here. You would think that usps workers know how their one office works and it was quite obvious the different departments do not communicate well at all. I wish I had gotten her name, but she was working at 12pm closest to the mail drop box. About 5'7" average built African woman. USPS, start screening people better. This post office has hands down the nicest staff I've ever come across with the exception of the one XXL black woman (there's another woman who works there who is beyond nice). She has the nastiest attitude and clearly shouldn't be in a customer based job if she clearly hates it so much. Just quit if you hate it, don't bring down the rest of the otherwise super friendly staff. The lines can get really long at this post office, but because of how friendly and helpful the other staff are, it really makes a difference. I used their flat rate envelope to ship some important documents to the passport center. 30 minutes later, I realized I forgot to include the most important document. There was a lady who was rude and inpatient. I came in to just ask a question, but she was impatient and didn't want to answer which I think is horrible. There were other people that were so much nice, her this woman was horrible. She was rude and had a horrible attitude. Its like she hates her job and if she does then why does she do it? Huh??? I've been to many post offices and they've been so kind and friendly and not rude and not trying to get rid of your customers, but this woman did. This review is for Ms. Thompson, who works at the 27th Street location. I had sent my taxes on april 11th. I had misread the postage machine and sent the envelope underpaid. It returned to my office with a bar code and a note saying "Under paid". I brought it to the post office to Mr. Luis Colon, who gave me certain options to get my package to the IRS. He sent the envelope priority mail and put the priority mail sticker and barcode on. HOWEVER, he forgot to take off the old barcode that the post office used for regular mail. So, when it was sent to the sorting center they scanned the wrong barcode and my package was sent back to me as unpaid. It did not go out Priority mail, which is the service that I paid for. I came back to the post office to try to figure out what happened. I got the little alarm and yellow light and walked over to Ms. Thompson's booth. She pulled off the barcode sticker and then ran a black sharpie over the stamped barcode that made the mail go for a second time. I put it together in my head that Mr. Luis Colon, after he took my mail to look to see what happened, and then behind the postage counter glass render my priority service, forgot to pull off the old barcode, or fail to mention to me that it had to be removed. He slapped the priority sticker on behind the counter and threw it in the mail. How was I supposed to know the old barcodes had to be removed? I don't work at the post office - I wasn't preparing the priority mail to go out. So, I put all this together, and said, "Ms. Thompson, this wasn't sent priority mail, is there anything you can do for me?" She quickly looked at me, harshly, and said no. Sorry. But in one of those awful egoic ways, not a helpful customer service way. I tried to hash it out with her and explain what happened and she starting raising her voice "PRIORITY MAIL IS GAURENTEED". She kept saying I wasn't listening to her as she continously raised her voice, pointed her finger at me, and told me I was being rude. I told her no you are not listening to me - this package was misstamped and I didn't get the service I paid for. She kept saying I wasn't listening to her and it wasn't gaurunteed. I wish I videod the interaction, because if any manager saw this behavoir it would surely lead to letting her go. She was rude, she didn't listen to what the actual problem was. It wasn't that the package isn't gaurnteed, it was that the package DIDNT EVEN GO OUT PRIORITY MAIL. How can it even be gaurenteed or not gaurenteed if it isn't even sent through the service that I paid for. Instead of being a good customer service worker, she raised her voice, got angry, told me I wasn't listening. Granted I had to push back a little to get my point accross, but she elevated the situation to a point where I had to say calm down, like I'm the customer and not even getting this upset (MIND YOU, YOU AREN'T EVEN GETTING THE POINT!!!!!!), which is something the customer should never have to do. She is a terrible member at the postal service and nobody there like her should be working at any of the USPS locations. In fact, she is not really suited to work with people in general. She would be great at a factory or something (everyone has their place in society), but not with customers. I think it would benefit the USPS and her as well to place her in a situation where she belongs, which is probably not representing USPS. I went home feeling walked on and treated poorly. I came back the next day, to try to point out the discrepency that she did not understand - it wasn't about not being gaurenteed, it was the fact that the services I paid for were not rendered. Her answer was "Well it wasn't me who did it". Like really?? That is your answer. No appologies for not understanding the situation? Oops I got so mad but now finally realize the situation? I tried to say, it doesn't matter who sent it out, I didn't get what I paid for. Ms Thompson did Ms Thompson behavoir again, which was to say that she couldn't deal with this. She went back behind the counter and started helping other customers. She is the most childish, unbelievably riduculous worker I have ever met. It was embarassing how long it took her to actually listen and not just want to argue and fight and be rude to me. It seems to be extremely hard for her. She acts like a little girl who has not done any work in her life to listen to others, try to solve problems, and come to conclusions in a manner that represents your company and all those that work for it. Overall, I think most of the people working at that location are really wonderful: Luis, Mrs. Donaldson (I think it is, the manager) and the others. But this woman needs to have a serious lesson on how to work with other people. It involves listening, staying calm, and being a good representative of your company. She is embarassing and if I had any say in who was representing that company if I worked there, I would fire he immedietly. read more

I would not recommend getting a p.o. box at this location. This location shares the same zip code with the larger Farley Post Office. So all packages are sent to Farley first, causing a delay in receiving packages - sometimes for more than a week. The problem is worsened by the usps online tracking system which often shows the package as delivered when in reality it's just sitting in limbo at Farley. It's really annoying the amount of times I've had to call to get my package moving again. read more
