"CANNOT FIND" should be the new name of the pickup window. I just spent almost one hour waiting to pick up certified mail, and there were only 3 people in front of me. The person in front of me warned that the little old guy with the red beard working the window meant I would not get my package. I laughed it off, and then slowwwwwllllly realized he wasn't joking. He and the 2 other people in front of him all left without the packages they came for. "Cannot find" was the reason over and over again. The little old guy with the red beard finally took my pick up slip, disappeared for about 10 minutes and then came back and handed me the slip and said "Cannot find", and expected that to be the end of that. "Please try again" I said and stood there while he stared at me for 30 seconds, then shuffled away, and came back about 4 minutes later with my package. I left my apartment at 2:00 PM and made it home at 3:12 having ONLY GONE FOUR BLOCKS TO GET MY MAIL. The only way a dump like this stays in business is because the government runs it and demands it stay in business. I'd rather spend my $100 at Fedex than deal with these morons again. Worst Post office ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Things they do: 1. Say they attempted delivery, when they never did 2. After complaint, they would gave you a pickup/re-delivery notice with final date already passed 3. They simply just list your address as "not deliverable address" while all other carriers can deliver.. and I occasionally get mails too 4. They will schedule a re-delivery for you, but they will never come~ 5. If fortunate enough, I get their happy day which they decide to try to do delivery, they would ring the bell downstairs, and disappear... Things they don't do: Deliver. read more

This is rudest post office I have ever been. I always found the staff in here are rude and have lousy attitudes. I was here last time with a friend and tired to borrow a pen from a staff, then she started complaining about some people did not return it back and she did not want to lend it to us, only if we return it after. Easy to find, off the f stop on east Broadway. I was pleasantly surprised how I was able to stroll in on a Saturday noon and no line what so ever. The service went fast and reliable compared to Cooper sq post office which is so slow, that post office moves like a molasses. read more

By far one of the worst USPS locations I've been to. First off the staff is extremely rude and not helpful at all. They seriously need to work on their customer service. There are no attempts made to deliver packages; you can be home all day long waiting (there goes your day) and you'll still have to go to the post office the next day to pick up your package which takes forever. Wow. I've never seen a Yelp business with more than 30+ reviews with only 2 stars EVER. That means this USPS branch is consistently rated below average. Glad my experience was painless. Came during lunch and there wasn't much of the line for the counters. I had some questions regarding international shipping so I joined the line. Took less than 10 minutes with 4 people ahead of me to get to a window. Staff was fairly helpful but was a little snark when he suggested I should go online to figure out the shipping fees (when I asked to borrow a pen to jot down all the fees). I found at these government agencies (e.g. think DMW and SSN offices) the customer should just be friendly, have thick skin and treat the experience like you're on line to be served by the Soup Nazi - like a said, painless. read more

Just went in to ship some stuff. Was greeted by a woman who was helping direct traffic in the store if you will. I had to ship 4 things, she told me what to do for each and gave me a pen to fill out the forms. This stations mail person never delivers the packages to 55 Rutgers, he leaves the slip and his statement is "Fuc* this building I am not delivering mail in winter you p people will have to get your own mail at the post office, I am tired of this building". ( I want to know who are you people? Unprofessional for a federal worker. I have been home due to surgery on one occasion my mail has been returned to sender because his writing in illegible and his colleagues can not find mail and today i received yet again another slip i can't read and the phone at 4:30 will not be picked up. Now I have a book that i am waiting for and the tracking message states a slip was left negative it was not. I rescheduled the delivery and it was due yesterday. This post office and the workers there are a bunch of pathetic thieves! Especially that one Asian guy that delivers the packages for 10002, he will steal your package. He will notate the package as "Person Unknown" or "Insufficient Address" and 128 East Broadway will just give you the run around stating they don't have it. Well, camera feeds don't lie and it's not the first time I called him out and magically my package reappeared. INCOMPETENT. The carrier/clerks/post office whoever NEEDS TO GET IT TOGETHER. First, I lost one package worth more than $100. Luckily the sender was nice enough to send the whole package again to me free of charge. Another time I received another package torn and grotesquely taped back together with only 1/3 items present inside and the invoice missing. Luckily the sender (same as before) was nice enough to send the missing items for me free of charge. For another package, when I tracked it online, it says it was delivered but I never received the package. This time the sender (different from the previous 2 times) did not even respond back to my complaint. I really lost to this package, but luckily it only valued ~$20. Finally, my last package from USPS says delivered again but I never received it. Not sure what will happen to this package yet cause I can't call USPS about it since it's the weekend. But I am so upset, I had to post this review because this is the last straw! None of these problems should be happening, especially so frequently!!! All of these problems happened this year alone!!! I never got any problems from UPS!!! People beware of getting parcels from this USPS post office!!! All New York Post Offices suck... but all for different reasons. This one is slow for sure, but the employees have never been rude. Just curt like any government employee in NYC would be... The biggest issue with this post office is that they have no package drop off, so if you pre-pay for shipping and go to drop off your package, you have to wait in line to do it. Which totally defeats the purpose of printing out your shipping at home. It is such a stupid system - please get a package drop in this location. read more

This post office doesn't even deserve a single star. If I could revoke them of all their stars, I would. This is BY FAR the WORST post office I have ever had the unfortunate chance of being in. All of the staff members I have dealt with are rude, lazy and still have the audacity to be condescending. I've been there multiple times to pick up packages after they claim to have "left a notice" in my mailbox/building/door front (they've tried to use any place they could think of) and I've never received anything. If I hadn't tracked my packages as intently, I would never know where or when I would ever receive them. Not to mention, when I DO go there to locate my packages, their staff members have told me many times that there's no package for my said address, but once I cause a big enough scene for them to actually get off their butts to go check, *VOILA!* my package somehow magically appears in their facility. They were just too lazy to go double check for it. Avoid this place at all costs if you can. They will lie, cheat and scam you just to get out of having to do their jobs. there is someone filling in for my regular mailman....(I am in Gouverneur Gardens)..... terrible attitudes from workers, never has the proper priority mail items in stock, and long lines. what's worse is they are incapable of delivering your mail properly. need to call them? they will not answer the phone. and they are worthless via email. Received a notice of first attempt... a full 2 and a half weeks after the alleged attempt, and a day after it was returned to sender.

damn this place. damn them, damn them, damn them. Ordered some super important medical supplies from amazon. My buzzer doesn't work so I pretty much always end up with those orange-ish pick up slips. I receive one on sunday, saying I can pick up the package after 10AM on tuesday (monday was labor day). On tuesday, at 10:30 I go to pickup the package. I limp my way down there (they were supplies for a leg injury), and the line is already super long. I get to the front and hand the guy my slip. The postal worker checks all the boxes (is there no organization system? He seems to have to check every single box on every shelf every time), then he vanishes into the back somewhere. He doesn't come back for atleast ten minutes. When he does return he says there isn't a package for me, just one for my neighbors, but he says this as if maybe that IS my package. "Did the one for apartment 2 have my name on it?" I ask. "I didn't check." He says. Really? Really?! "Please check." I ask. He goes away and returns another full ten minutes later. "It wasn't actually for your neighbor, it was for Orchard street." He says "I cannot find your package." "So you lost it?" I ask. "Come back tomorrow. Maybe we find it." He says. It's medical supplies! Medical supplies I totally needed on Sunday when they first tried to deliver them. So I called amazon and they shipped it again, this time to my office. I'm never ordering another package to my apartment again. I've lived here 4 years, and while this was the worst experience, it's almost never simple, easy, or straightforward dealing with this postoffice. Not to mention they don't have the express or priority tape, and they're always ALWAYS out of priority boxes and priority labels. Plus the line is never short to pick up packages or ship them out. And one of the female postal workers has the foulest attitude. This is a very chinese neigborhood (and she is chinese) and she's always yelling at people whose english isn't very good, as if getting surly helps them understand you. read more

Excellent customer service. A shining example of productivity. Employees actually show up for work. Sometimes. The pick up window is particularly excellent. They don't have your package and tell you to come back Monday. Give them a raise. And pensions. It makes me happy to think they will retire someday and do nothing but receive a check. This post office is horrible. I had packages sent to my mother. It was MIA for 11 days. One finally made it. It was a birthday gift needless to say it never made it for the birthday. It was shipped on Feb 5 from CA. The status says it attempted to deliver and left notices.There was NO notices left. Mom is home 98% of the time. Package #2 is being returned to sender because it says "UNCLAIMED". So not true! There some lazy people working at that location. Hopefully things gets better. read more

Terrible post office, they will lie about attempting to deliver your package, and if they actually leave you a slip notice, there is a 50% chance that the horrible employees, who lack people skills and any sort of other skill find your package. Today Aug 9th 2016 a new female African American employee while trying to find my package, decided she needed to use the bathroom, she told the elderly Asian man who can never find anything that she needed to go. And I was left standing there as the Asian man, who I asked to take care of me since his "co-worker" left, instead decided to take care of the Asian lady behind me...the African American female didn't really have to go, she just assumed he would take care of me, but nope! So she came back, and I asked her, are you having trouble? She said yes, and when I told her I waited the entire day yesterday for the package, and noticing once I went online "attempted delivery package is at local post office for pickup" and not receiving any knock on my door, or even a slip under the door, or mail.
