I went on a Saturday and my package didn't fit through the slot as the windows were closed one hour before. The lady said to leave my package in the front and they would get it. It makes me so sad that this US Post Office is not acceptable. I have been sending packages to Montana, Hawaii, and Australia for the past 10 years. Christmas cards, bills, letters that are stamped never arrive until 5-7 days. When I drop anything needed to be mailed....packages, etc. from the Darien, CT Post Offices....everything...EVERYTHING....arrives when promised. Help!! Driving to Darien with I-95 traffic is always an outing. Get this Norwalk Post Office up to means. Old, tired, open, hopeful that something will change!!! Yep, time for a change! read more

The Washington Street post office in Norwalk Connecticut has a horrendous track record of delivering packages and letters to the right location I consistently get mail from different streets different addresses different names and my mail gets lost the other direction. I hope the new postmaster can make positive changes to correct these issues! They been going on for almost 5 years now I've even written to the postmaster general in Washington DC as well as the consumer advocate group for the post office I'm hoping I can change this review to be a positive one in the near future read more

I have been a customer for decades and have always found the staff courteous and helpful at the counter. They are accurate and timely in delivering mail to my home address as well as my post office box. I have never written a Yelp review before, but felt compelled to, given the nasty reviews that are the only ones visible when I pulled up the listing for their hours. I almost took a star off because I thought someone might interpret it as a rigged review. However, I didn't feel that was fair to the staff. read more

I currently moved to another state and started the mail forwarding. All mails got redirected except for a very important mail that could have led to my losing my job. I and my husband called the post office and except for a few delays, the mail man and his supervisor we spoke to were god sent. Not only did they track the package 1 month after it was delivered to the old address but also did an overnight shipping to ensure that my document reached to me the very next day. the older woman here is flat out rude. i walked in today with a pre paid shipping label which was not taped on the package yet. i asked if i can use the tape, (there was regular tape & a wider "priority mail" tape) so before touching either of the two i asked if it mattered which one i used. she responded "no it doesn't matter as long as you don't cover the barcode". as i begin taping, to avoid the tape getting stuck together or not being aligned properly on the edge of the paper, i started to put two pieces on each side instead of one long piece of tape. the woman rudely tells me i'm wasting "time, money & property" because of my "patchwork". what a way to talk to customers!!! great job!!! plenty of other post offices, i suggest going elsewhere.. read more
