Literally the worst. Not helpful, not friendly. I'd rather hand deliver a package than set foot in this place again.

I've run into the issue on 4 separate occasions over the last couple months. So if you're cutting it close, don't go here until someone in management wakes up and stops this from happening.

Today, Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, between 11:50AM and 12:00PM I entered the post office located…read moreat 20 Church St, Little Silver, NJ 07739. My mailbox key was not working so I asked the clerk for help. This "clerk" was not wearing a uniform and to be quite honest, resembled someone who appeared to be suffering from drug abuse addiction or hung over from alcohol. I say this with respect and only to communicate the situation clearly. The clerk went to the mailbox number, I stated, and yelled, in front of two other individuals, "you only got bulls*it in your box." I replied, well it is my bullsh** and I want it please." At this moment the time reached 12PM exactly when the post office closes. With me, and two elderly ladies remaining she flickers the light switch on and off and yells "get the fuc* out its closing time." Shocked beyond belief I turn to her and call her rude. She then replies, "I wasn't talking to your dumb ass but to the white lady, but I will tell you now to get the fuc* out!" I just could not believe what was happening. Finally, she announces, "my name is Jasmine and make a fuc*ing complaint if you want everyone else does and nothin gonna happen to me." I ran to my car in fear for my life and called the nearest post office located in Rumson NJ and asked to speak with a supervisor. A very nice lady answered the telephone and took my message. This person who identified herself as "Jasmine" should not be working with the public. If she attacks anyone at least we can say we informed the post office.

As an Elite Yelper, I try to give grace when it's warranted -- but this place has tested my patience more times than I can count. If you're looking for consistency, professionalism, or even a basic sense of urgency, you may want to brace yourself. The staff here are a rotating cast of personalities and procedures. One day, I'm greeted by a helpful woman who gets my package processed in five minutes flat -- friendly, efficient, and exactly what you'd expect from a major shipping company. Then the next day, I'll run into someone else who suddenly needs to weigh, measure, remeasure, question every label, and type at a glacial pace, all while barely acknowledging my presence. It's not that they're rude -- it's more that they seem either overwhelmed or uninterested. And that inconsistency is maddening. I shouldn't have to guess what kind of experience I'm going to get based on who's working that day. A shipping center should have systems and procedures that don't change based on who's behind the counter. The parking lot is small and chaotic, especially during busy hours. There's little to no signage to guide customers, and if you're unfamiliar with the layout, it's easy to walk into the wrong entrance or get in the way of the loading zone. On the upside, they usually have shipping supplies in stock, and they haven't lost a package yet (knock on wood). But that's the bare minimum of what I expect from a place like this. If you're in a pinch and don't have another option nearby, this place will do. But don't come here expecting a seamless experience. Bring your patience -- and maybe some snacks -- just in case. Pro tip: If you find an employee who's actually helpful, try to remember their name and time shift. It might be your only hope for a quick visit.
