On a positive note, the staff I've encountered when visiting this Post Office have always been pleasant. Now, as for mail delivery, that's a different story. I am CONSTANTLY getting the wrong mail! There's a house behind me with the same house number and we get each other's mail all the time not to mention other neighbors too. My packages are often left on my neighbors' porches, wrong mail in my box... those are consistent problems. This is absolutely the WORST postal location I've ever experienced - and LOOK AT ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS THAT SAY THE SAME THING! Hello Postmaster, when do you do something about this? When does someone take this seriously? So I called today to find out where my package is and they can't find it (a week and a half after it was to have been delivered). It has disappeared. I'm put on hold several times. The (very nice) lady comes back and forth with me saying they can't find it and maybe I'll have to file a claim. The manager is suddenly not available to come to the phone. Riiigggghhhht. Then, MIRACULOUSLY, 30 minutes into the phone call I hear someone say "I found it!" STOLE MY PACKAGE.... NEVER GOT IT. This PO (20745) is the absolute worse with customer service and just plain old courtesy. The ineptness and unprofessionalism is truly unbelievable. It's like how is this even happening with these people. I got my mail transferred in May 2023 form CA (90746 - great service) to 20745. I have yet to receive mail with yellow stickers indicating my mail was transferred. I've visited this Post Office AT LEAST 10 times looking for my mail. I spoke with the manager twice who appeared disheveled and was no help at all. My package from CA (90012) was mailed on Oct 25th and delivered to this PO - 20745 - on 6316 Oxon Hill Rd, Oxon Hill, MD 20745. I was sent this update message from the PO - We could not access the delivery location to deliver your package at 2:58 pm on October 28, 2023 in OXON HILL, MD 20745. We will redeliver on the next delivery day. No action needed. I got mail on this day so I don't know what this message is indicating. On a couple of my visits attempting to track this package I was told by one of the representatives that my package was on the truck and would be delivered that day.... it was not. Several times I've been given information concerning my mail that was an outright lie. It's almost like it's a game to them. I have NEVER had a problem with mail delivery. My PO in CA (90746 Carson) was always professional and offered great service. They have been involved in trying to track my mail. I just moved to my new home and the thought of dealing with these totally inept and unprofessional people gives me heart palpitations. I had avoided reviewing them because I didn't want my service to suffer - ha, can't get any worse. Please, I beg you, send the Postmaster in to investigate. read more

This post office is the worst when it comes to delivering my mail and they are less than 3 miles from my apartment. I really think that these postmen take off on their days to deliver mail. I will have mail that says out for delivery only to say later that its at the post office. This is ridiculous! My item was shipped on the 22nd and I still am getting the run around on its whereabouts. First of all I live in Maryland and the package was shipped from New Jersey, why was it shipped to Florida before coming back to the east coast.? A gentleman by the name Mr. Miller (so he said) contacted be about a package that was supposed to be delivered to me yesterday, however I didn't receive two of the four items and was worried that something fraudulent had occurred. I received a message from the US post office stating I needed to resend the address and send money for delivery. Strange, because the US post office delivered two of the items yesterday to my address. Miller, was so unprofessional and incompetent, when I ask to speak to a manager or could he please provide me with the general manager contact info so this situation could be rectified. He stated he didn't know who they were, and believed they were out making deliveries. The fact of the matter is I sent the request and was waiting for a professional to assist with this situation, however he was unknowledgeable about the US post office operations and who management was. And even went as far to ask me who was the delivery persons name, like I work for the company. I'm definitely not satisfied with how he handled the situation and will be following up with it all. Miller, definitely needs more coaching and extra training over all before he calls customers. read more

Totally unprofessional every time I try and use this post office. Scheduled a passport appointment one week in advance. Get there the day of and I'm told the one employee who can assist me isn't there and I should have received a call. They knew for sure no one tried to call. The Post Office Customer service is horrible. Sad you can't use services in your own neighborhood! read more

I'm giving this 3 stars because frankly, how much can you really ask of the post office?? They have all you need to handle business. This location is definitely old, a little small, awkwardly placed at the corner of an EXTREMELY busy intersection. The staff is hit or miss. Some of them are very pleasant and helpful, some of them don't want to do any more than what they have to. I needed a box, the ones they had for sale were $3.49 which is outrageous to me. I asked the lady if they had any empty boxes in the back, she giggled and said no, but never moved to look. Another location, a person went in the back and found me one which was so very much appreciated. I had to leave, drive up the street to buy one and then come back. Overall, when I ship packages from here, sometimes they aren't scanned in a timely manner, sometimes they are. I generally get good service so I can't complain too much, just be advised.... read more

Since 2004 I have complained to this PO in writing and in person numerous times and nothing has changed. I have lodged complaints about not receiving packages at all or packages being marked "delivered" on the tracking system when it was not. I have had several occasions when mail carriers left notices saying they attempted a delivery, but I was home at the time and know no one ever knocked on my door. For example, just last Monday my mail carrier left a delivery attempt notice in my box, you know the one that you sign so they know its okay to leave the package on the next delivery attempt. I signed it. The next day, Tuesday, my wife was home when the mailman came by and she handed him the signed slip. But my package wasn't on his truck, meaning he took it off his truck after his shift the previous day and never even planned to make a second delivery attempt the next day. He took the slip and said he would bring the package the following day. The following day, Wednesday, was yesterday and no delivery or delivery attempt notice left in my box. Now today is Thursday and I have to be late to work again because I need this package asap and have no choice but to go the post office first thing this morning to look for it. This is type of thing that happens all the time with these folks and it is insanely frustrating. Why can't they just do their freaking job and deliver the packages without playing games with the system or trying to NOT deliver them. I think they are just trifling and lazy and don't want to get out of their truck and want everyone to go pick up their packages instead of them delivering them. Its clearly an office culture supported by management because the same thing happens no matter who my mail person is. I understand mail carriers have discretion to not leave a package if it is unsafe to do so or if packages get stolen often in that area but these factors do not apply to my neighborhood. They need to stop being lazy and do their job. read more

This is an old, beaten-down building, but it has all it needs to and the staff has always been friendly, welcoming, patient, and efficient when I've been there, and even the long lines usually move quickly. It can be a bit of a pain leaving the parking lot when Oxon Hill Rd. is busy, but it's doable. (If you want to go left though . . . well, don't. Just take the right and turn look around at your first opportunity -- it'll make things go significantly more smoothly.) read more

Camilla and manager mrs perry are idiotic postal workers. I had a flat rate package and they weighed it making it more expensive and 1 day later arrival. When i called to complain they said come back to the post office. I could not i just wanted the lady name in front camilla but instead mrs Perry gave me a big attitude and said she dont know everyone name. Hangs up. I called 20 more times literally and finally got some one claiming to be camilla and she kinda apologize saying that it was a minor mistake. It may have been but dont hang up on a customer trying to give you positive criticism. Her last reply was if i did not like the service dont come here go to fort washington branch. This is the worst and I do mean the worst post office known to man. I receive image notification of my mail that is coming to my box. I have not received several poeces of my mail and when I asked they tried to place the blame somehow on me saying iys my faule for not putting my name in my Registered mailbox that I have certified mail mail to. I dislike the entire branch and they need to change ALL THE WORKERS. There is no accountability and when you ask for someones name they do not give it saying they can't give you their name. That makes it easier for them to be rude to you and get less complaints. I complain and all I have to go off of is the description of the person because they refuse to give their name. sad excuse for a post office! they are also a bunch of thieves! they dropped off my package with nothing in it! when i came outside to pick up the box, the mailman looked back, we made eye contact and he quickly looked away, and picked up his paced as if he already knew. the boxed seemed it had been opened and retaped (seeing as though there was two types of tape on the box) in all my years of ordering things online, ive never encountered such an experience! i called to complain the man who answered seemed unconcerned and hostile. he didnt even seemed surprised that my package was opened and the content inside was stolen. all he kept asking was what was in the box. seriously? none of your business! out of everything to ask? and when i asked to speak to a manager, he said he was the manager!! seems like they all take turns being the manager. ive complained numerous times over missing letter and sending my mail to the wrong address. everytime it seems like im speaking to a manager (mind you ive gotten a different person everytime)more than half the employees cant even speak proper english!! i sugguest if you move to oxon hill get a P.O. box on the other side of town! and stay far far away from this so call "post office" oh btw it was a XBOXONE and a few games that was in the box! if they must know! but im sure they already knew that, since their probably playng it right now at home while im writing this review! read more
