I'll say this is hit and miss spot because seems like most of the workers don't want to be there and can come off annoyed. I've been here a few times and that was my perception, but this time it was different. Now maybe because I was the only person there was no long lines so I was in and out without any issues. If I could give this place a negative star I would. I was supposed to get a package delivered as a Father's Day gift on the 15th. So, it comes a day early... cool! They didn't deliver or "made an attempt" to do, so they said . I called on Saturday after they closed to see if it was there. The customer service agent said that it was okay, cool. I went today before I went to work, and they sent it back!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!??? They only held it for one day...they don't count weekends or holidays but, they sent my package back before I got a chance to get it at 1 o'clock but sent NO EMAIL OR TEXT MESSAGE about it being sent back until after I got there. The supervisor asked me, "Why didn't you call?" My response was, "Are you serious? Call here? There's no number for the place on the website, just an 800 number. Just lazy... read more

The post office is an important institution and vital to American society. During COVID they did not skip a beat... ok one or two hiccups, but it never stopped like the rest of America. One place outside of the grocery store that I found myself a lot was the Post Office. While I absolutely hate standing in these lines for service, the reps at the counter were very friendly and did what they could to help. The demand isn't their fault. . SoI had two packages post to be delivered to my door and it never made it, at my door. Anything I order, I always track my packages. Mailman put delivered and I look outside my door and it wasn't there. To remind you, he use a key to get in my building. Why lie and say you delivered it. They don't deliver packages properly and do not give notices of failed attempts. This post offices exposes you to other people if you live in apartment buildings by having you come to the lobby and pick up the packages all at the same time. They've made excuses since COVID-19 started stating they can't go past the third floor when in fact ALL other Post Office don't seem to have a problem doing their job properly. As a teacher, I need my mail and can't afford to missing incoming packages due to me not being to come while I am teaching my students. I have to go onto the station to pick up packages which causes me to gain more exposer than if they would just deliver the packages to door with no contact. I called to update my address on a package, they said they would have it sent to me, a week later I found out they sent it back to vendor. I've read through almost all of the previous reviews and they all say one thing: worst post office ever. While I don't know if that statement is completely true it's definitely a contender! Like most other Yelp'ers this is the closest post office to my house. The first issue is the parking and entrance. It's rather hard to get into the parking lot and people basically park wherever they want. Once inside there is always a giant line. This wouldn't be a huge issue if the line constantly moved but it doesn't. There is often only one or two employees working, and they aren't very friendly. I typically find myself going inside, waiting and the leaving because it takes too long. I truly wish this post office was better because I would seriously mail more items instead of going on Amazon. I've had a PO BOX here since 2004. I check my PO BOX like maybe once a month. In June of 2020 I come like in June 11th and my PO BOX is closed, I made a fuss but I paid, it's January 16th 2021 and I come to my PO BOX today and it's closed again. For 16 years I've always been given a 30 days grace period and have been let me know once I've come if I needed to pay my PO BOX. The staff seems to be new and the lady with the locks and glasses seems to have a bad attitude. I would strongly suggest NOT using this POST OFFICE unless you have too and to get a PO BOX from somewhere else if you need too. I'm getting another PO from somewhere else. I WISH I COULD GIVR ZERO!! Omg, this is the slowest, most unprofessional Post Office I've encountered. There is always a line, and only one teller available. And the bad part, is this is the closest one to my location. Often times I just leave when I first walk in, and just wait until I go to a DC location. I have been living at the same address for over a decade and these clowns apparently can't read plain printed English. i can't figure any other reason for the incompetence that i have seen from suitland post office. Every time i order something it's a crap-shoot if i'll ever see my package. Over the course of a year i have had 25 packages "misdelivered" to another address on the other side of town I had one package stolen by the carrier and then have her lie to my face about how UPS had my package. about a week later my package was delivered only after i contacted the postmaster general. This post office location is closer to my home than the designated post office that I've been assigned to. Something about the district or zoning or whatever. I guess it's the same thing with school districts and all. Anyways, I wanted to do a review on this post office in regards to getting a passport. All is great, no problem at all! However, there are a few things you need to know: 1. You may pick up an application. Don't let their hours fool you into thinking you can just walk-in and complete the whole process. You have to set up an appointment...which is about a week later. The application is simple. 2. You need to bring both your checkbook and a credit card. And a birth certificate. Most fees can be charged to your credit/debit card. However, the state fee for the passport cannot be applied to your credit card. That's where your checkbook comes in. It's $67 dollars for the passport fee (check only). $45 for the photo fee and whatnots. 3. You'll have your pictures taken. Ta-da! You're done! Bad news: 1. Unless you need it fast, which you'll pay extra, you'll be waiting about 10 weeks before you get your passport. 2. The PO gets to keep your birth certificate with your passport application the entire time. So, be sure to make a copy of your birth certificate for yourself. (Of course, you'll get it back when you get your passport.) read more

I've been to some post office and trust me this is the worse! Starting from the employees attitude, they act like they are the owners of the place. They lost my package! How can you loose a package? If online it states that is in the place it has to be there, either they were too lazy to look for it or who knows. I read some reviews but I didn't really think it was that bad. Just getting in and it's about 9:00 I see to mail trucks on coming from the back and one sitting in from of my house.... Sonim thinking he's about to deliver the mail since there was none... Then he just turned around and left... Both trucks... I put my Wssc bill in the mail box last month and the mail man took it and wssc never received it... This is the worse post office EVER!!! I have lived in this area for over 5 years and have had more missed mail and disappearing packages than one should ever experience. The worst post office ever. I have had several , like 5-6 packages, that said 'delivered but never received them. I gave a letter to them to never leave a package if I wasn't home and I was promised it wouldnt happen. But it did happen and their excuse is "the mail person is new to the route and didnt know'. It got so bad, I started tracking my packages online, drive home to beat the package.. and I will check online and it will say package delivered ...no knock on the door, no package. The Suitland Post Office is the absolute worst. Today's saga in what I believe as retaliation for need a "re-delivery" for a letter I had to sign for is that they are now not delivering any of my mail. Yesterday, they wouldn't pick up outgoing mail and threw that day's mail on top of it. This is the worst post office in the county. The staff's incompetence and attitude is unbearable. Worst post office ever!!!!!! Postmaster continues to deliver incorrect mail to my home for almost a year now just because they CAN'T pay attention to an address? I mean seriously, how simple is it to distinguish between apartment 203 and apt. T-3. Come on! I get the mail of my neighbors about once a week, packages are stuffed into my mailbox. Left at the door one month then the next they won't even come to the door they'll just put the pick up slip in your mailbox!!!! None of the managers seem to be able to correct the priblem. There's no consistency here. I've put complaints in with all 3 managers of this terrible establishment. This is a basic post office that can help with postal services. Be aware that the parking lot is extremely small and one must be of the angled parking that each car must drive into. The angled drive-in parking can be a hazzard for those who have difficulty backing up into Suitland Road traffic. I don't have that issue though. The post office service is efficient. However, I've never been able to purchase the current historic stamps that I want to buy. read more

I've experienced them not delivering the package on specific date. They make up the reason why it wasn't delivered. For instance they put they couldn't deliver the package because it wasn't a secure location to deliver. Lol the mailbox is always secure place to deliver mail. read more

This post office is ridiculously slow, and might I add unprofessional. Every time I come to this location, there is a line of at least 5-10ppl, but the wait is normally 15-20min. I don't know if they're understaffed or just incompetent. I had several annoying run-ins with this post office. I go to apply for a passport and there's only one clerk working who won't even look at my application because the person that's supposed to do passports went to lunch 15 minutes before my appointment (which was set weeks in advance). The woman that was there ended up taking my application 45 minutes later when the other person still hadn't gotten back. Also had a package mysteriously disappear. They said it was delivered, except I was home all day and no one ever knocked on my door. The latest incident that caused me to write this post: I've had a package that's been "out for delivery" for 2 days already. I'm calling, trying to see what's the issue, and no one is answering the phone. PS. can a supervisor there please tell your employees that it's more appropriate to say, "please hold" than to tell me, "hold on" before leaving the line for someone else to pick up 10 minutes later not even knowing who I was calling for. read more
