I don't understand the bad reviews. I've been going here for 4 years and have never had a bad experience. I use them for personal and small domestic business packages. The staff has always been able to answer my questions. They usually have music on, which is nice. For a postal service I value this location. It's never too busy and they have self service. read more

Hands-down, the worst post office I have ever been to. The staff is extremely rude and don't expect them to go above and beyond for any of your needs. Cashier wouldn't even address me when I asked her something just told me "this is your change" It seems based off other reviews that this is the normal here, so therefore I will not be returning. There's plenty of other options of post offices to go to down here in the desert. Very unfortunate by now all the cashiers here don't understand how important good customer service is. read more

If you're in any hurry, don't show it , a certain employee will make it her job to chit chat endlessly to the customer, even talking about how UPS does their business, like they are the only ones in the building despite a long line. "Rubbing salt in the wound" is what happened to me. No respect ... we're all just a job with no quotas or requirements to fulfill. read more

This post office is supposed to open at 8 AM. Just arrived at eight and there was a huge line inside. Still not open at 8:30. Many people in line said they were late for work! Folks leaving and upset. Opening more than 30 minutes late? Especially during the holidays? Holding everybody up so they can't get to their next destination or get back to work? Absurd! This isn't Hawaii where you can show up 30 minutes late and everything's cool. People need to show up on time for work and open when they say they're going to open. That's just appropriate. Recommend going to the UPS Store if you are in any sort of hurry or on a timeline. Unreliable service here and they honestly don't seem to care. On top of it they're starting peoples day off on a bad note by not being an integrity and opening during their hours. You should consider a new manager and maybe firing the employee who was supposed to open on time. read more

Where do I start? I just went to my local post office. That has been my post office for almost 3 years. I pay for a PO Box. The point of paying for a PO Box is that my mail is there secured and safe. The older lady Luisa that works there all the time that has a thick accent. I don't know her name because I'm too mad to get it right now. I told her my key is not working for my PO Box which hasn't from the day one, but It wasn't important enough for me to say anything and we would just deal with it. So today I couldn't open the mailbox, so I stood in line patiently waited my turn, and when I got to her, I said my key doesn't work (BTY I was nice and happy -it is 9am this morning!!) and she just openly lashed out at me in front of everyone in the PO office Telling me that she needs to talk and that I need to listen and that she says I have too much mail in there and that's why the key doesn't work. And that she's had this conversation with ne multiple times, not true! Not even with my hubby who is the one that always grabs the mail not me! That if I keep having too much mail that they're going to close my PO Box and then I'm going to have to reopen a new one and started lecturing me and yelling at me in front of everyone. Had been there with my husband that she sees me in there all the time with she would've never done that to me. I think she would've held her tongue a little bit and been more professional instead of unprofessional in a professional government office. Does she not realize there are many choices to get a PO Box somewhere? Does she not realize that her office is on the verge of closure? Does she not realize that I help pay her wages? Does she not realize that if I didn't have mail going there she wouldn't have a J.O.B. This lady is unprofessional and crude and had no reason to yell at me like she did because my mail was in the PO Box that's what I pay for. When she brought out the mail, I said oh I can't wait to see how much mail in there because SHE went off on me for no reason When she brought the mail it was barely anything and she checked and said the key didn't work, but to get yelled at like that, why don't you just do your job first and see how much mail was really in there and see if the key works before you yell at me like you did in front of everyone in the office. I've had a PO Box since 2012 in La Quinta Cove up until two years ago when I got it here and the people that worked in LQ were so friendly and nice and happy and never treated me like this lady did I am baffled and upset and I cannot believe that this is my local post office. Maybe she should retire maybe she should balance her hormones maybe she needs to figure out why she was so angry at 9 AM when that place just opened!! This city only is busy 3 months out of the year! Ok counter service. However, foyer is now locked at 5 pm and weekends whereas it used to be open for buying stamps etc and to access mailboxes. This makes it very difficult for those of us who work to get there during weekdays to check the mailbox. read more

This is a great place to do your mailing. The employees always have a bright, friendly smile. They are very knowledgable. They also have a great deal of patience. Numerous postal boxes for rent. I like the fact you can use a machine in front to mail your own packaged too Great location. Great service read more

I mentioned it to the fellow at the counter at the Hovely office, not as a gripe but as a concern that maybe somebody was not O.K. He said he has his own office to worry about. read more

The post office to me is like the dmv, a necessary evil. Oh lordy, this place gets busy during season! Like it's such a bummer when you're just standing in line, but you need to mail whatever needs to be mailed. Like it's always annoying having to wait in line, but it is what it is. Bruh, old people are cranky af though. Like I'll heard old people making some rude ass comment about the line and I either give them side-eye or I tell them to shut up. Ya'll ain't got anything else to do. The employees are pretttty quick which is super nice and they're always friendly. I don't know how they're so friendly when they have to deal with rude ass people. read more

Passed this post office several times in my life not knowing it was a Post Office!! Finally realized it was a Post Office when I needed to mail something haha The appearance is definitely retro, but exactly what you would expect from a USPS when you actually look at it! Plenty of parking making it easy to back out. Drive thru drop off in the back too! There are plenty of PO Boxes in here! Self-service kiosk to make it quick and simple for anyone to beat out the long line....but didn't seem like this place had problems with that. They sell normal mailing supplies including a roll of bubble wrap for $2! Only thing I had to ding them on, was the drop off box by the self-service kiosk got stuck after I attempted to push a package through....made me feel uneasy if my package would be damaged or if someone would notice it. read more

It's the Holiday Season and they have one employee working the counter. The wait is over 2 hours. Avoid this post office.

This is by far the worst post office here in the desert it's always busy but the worst part is you can tell that the employees are not happy with their job and they come off as very rude. Im sure they will probably like this review because less people come to their post office. Save yourself some time and effort and go elsewhere you'll be in a better attitude because of it. This place is horrible and the Luisa and the lady with the white hair need to take a class in customer service. read more

It is stupid I have had a PO box here for 18 years plus now you can't get in to check it after 6pm open maybe if your lucky 7am I think only open till 3 pm Saturday's closed all day Sunday they told me it's because somebody is breaking into the boxes I told them to get cameras she said it would cost thousands to do that I asked her if she has ever been to SAMs club or Costco you can get them for less then 500 dollars. Oh well my box is up at the end of October I will be opening up a box at the ups store next to the town center mall Palm desert. Typical government worker didn't give a crap that they are losing costumers no wonder they are broke and we have to keep baling them out Now have a box at the UPS store can get my mail anytime maybe this is why the post office continues to lose money read more

UPDATE I've been avoiding this place...Finally I decided to go and simply avoid the same woman as before. How hard can it be? Had some pretty important MRI CDs to send to a Dr in TX. The man at the counter asked what I was sending and when I told him he said "Oh it qualifies for the media rate!" I was wary, so I said, "Well it gets tracking correct?" He said "Of course" So off it went.... Well, apparently the media option means that it takes a slow barge across the channel from California to Texas. I didn't hear from the Drs office so I called and they told me a couple times they never found the package. I dredged up the tracking receipt and lo and behold it had been like 17 places. Some of which it would stay for as long as 9 days. I mailed it a month ago... and tracking now says something vague like, 'moving within the USPS network in transit to next facility and on track to be delivered to it's final destination..." None of that tells me anything. It's still lost! To their credit, the doctors office happened to be moving entire facilities on the very DAY it showed up,,, but come on... you can't tell me the local postman doesn't deliver to this business everyday and can SEE that they are moving? The office said they forwarded address.... I do believe that this is due to more incompetent advice from that post. If it is important like medical records which need to arrive in a timely manner, he should not have told me to send it via 'media rate' which I think is the same as the old "book rate", which meant months.... Obviously media rate takes the lowest priority... so much so, that they make zero effort at delivery. Just let it get lost in Texas somewhere... read more

I often drop packages for my business in the lobby drop box, i dont purchase postage at the counter as they always have a long line and no urgency- so the last 4 visits the drop box is jammed shut and despite employees acknowledging the issue no one even tries to help- The DMV is much more efficient and they are a circus read more

Be very careful if you have dealings in changing address to temporary. I didn't get my mail for a month and then I changed the end date with Tom, but that never happened and so I stopped getting mail. I started it again and waited and waited. I called the post office and began a communication with Tracy and that helped. So be very watchful and it's too bad all this has to happen. Good luck read more
