I've been hearing some very sad news regarding this post Office in the last few months it's been in the news. I decided to try it today. I went in to cash a United States postal money order. The first clerk didn't know what I was talking about. She says you have to go to your bank. Post office doesn't cash money orders. So she goes over to ask the supervisor i noticed that she said yes so she could cash it so she comes back to me and says we can't cash the check because I don't have enough money in my drawer. She checks both the tellers and they said they don't have the money you'll need to come back later today or Monday we can't cash your postal money order. The two clerks that I dealt with were very rude. They were not going to cash that check. The first clerk wasn't even going to go ask the other clerks if they had the money in their drawer. It's kind of interesting that a money order written off of the United States Postal Service can't be cashed at another post office. However, I did go to La Quinta post office and had no problems with it I walked into this particular post office because it was close to my home and I wanted to support them As there has been some bad press lately on this post office Sadly, the name of the game in this town is customer service. They totally lack that as a business. I have a hard time believing that all five people that were helping customers did not have enough money in their drawers. $100 money order written off of a United States Postal Service money order. I'll leave this one to you guys. Take your chance on going in there. You might get better customer service than I did. I wasn't the only one that walked out of there, shaking their head. read more

Three weeks ago I made an appointment to apply for a passport for my toddler. Show up to my scheduled appointment 3/7/2026 to find out they have not had a "passport agent" for over a month and they would not be able to help. No notice received prior or some kind of courtesy cancellation and USPS website does prevent from scheduling an appointment at this location. read more

At 3pm on a Monday I tried to use the drive up mailbox in front of the PO. It was so stuffed with mail that I could easily have reached in and taken out other people's letters. Pickup time posted on the box was 2:30 pm so clearly someone wasn't doing their job. Inexcusable. read more

Lost my cousin's cremains which were later found in the post office. Our carrier is the worst. He consistently gives me the wrong mail. He Shoves mail in the box so it doesn't lock. Letters are found in the gutter. I have complained to the post office four times & their response was "he will retire soon." Complaints are useless. Terrible service. read more

WOW!!!Can't believe how rude and unhelpful the employee was to us. Specifically Maribelle with the passport services. We arrived 15 minutes early to fill out the forms and the employee gave us the wrong form. Maribelle showed up 8 minutes late for our 15 minute window and looked for several reasons to not help us. With 4 year old and 9 year old with us we waited over an hour. She talked back to us several times and so rude. I can't believe someone like this is employed. Judging by the reviews of this office there is major issues here. We asked to speak to a supervisor and she immediately refused and said they would just side with her. WOW! read more

On Wednesday morning this week, I prepared the legal documents and added the tracking green slip to every envelope for the post office agents convenience. Upon arriving, I waited in line and a female. I had never seen there before asked me to step forward. As I handed her the envelopes and said I only wanted tracking no signature required. She insisted that I needed the signature card and the estimated cost for each letter would be $20.00. I was confused because I had sent many legal letters through that post office with only the green tracking attached. The price stated on the board was $4.40. I estimated $5.00 dollars for each envelope. The girls name was Rihanna, sloppy shirt, long hair and no name badge. As she began to argue with me, I kept my voice down and insisted that I had never done that before for $20 each envelope and why am I having this difficulty this morning. She was rude when I asked her what her name was because she didn't have a name badge And had the audacity to say to me if you don't know how to spell my name and spelt her name out for me at that point she had upset the line and they began to verbally attack me that she was being "very clear with the instructions". She was the only employee with no badge frumpy and obviously wanted to make more money on my transaction that was necessary. I ended up asking her to get her supervisor and we walked to the other end of the counter not to hold up the line with her supervisor. Jesse was very helpful. extended the apologies on behalf of that employee. The supervisor ended giving me six stamps for which already affixed on the envelopes and reassured me that she would have a talk with Rihanna. This experience marked the end of doing business at that location. I came home, and re-addressed each envelope and filled out six more of the tracking slips, took it to the Rancho Mirage location where they extended exceptional courtesy and for the six envelopes I paid a rough estimate just under $30. 00 a substantial difference of what Rihanna wanted to charge me. This little girl had the audacity to tell me if you don't know how to spell my name and spelled it out for me with an attitude. I would say she was no more than 25 years old. This employee hasn't learned the skill of customer service. Her conduct only reminded me of this young generation that feels entitled. Rihanna obviously needs additional training of the product requirements and pricing. I've been going there for over four years and they've lost my business forever because of this dumpy and very rude employee, Rihanna. Anybody going into that location should avoid doing business with this girl. read more

A very friendly staff in a very clean building. They have all the supplies you need for mailing packages. They even have gift cards for popular places, and greeting cards, and even sell stamps for sending the cards. They carry scotch tape and lots of boxes. I especially like the fancy boxes they provide. This place is a JOKE. They mishandled and lost my both of my children's birth certificates. I opened a service request and "Supv Customer Services" Valerie Mills closed my ticket with no resolution and simply said all future mail will be delivered to my address. No help. What's worse is they have shut off their phones at the branch at hovley so you are unable to contact them over the phone. I called the regional support number and said they won't help, and they somehow have no way of contacting the branch directly. Lazy, poor service workers who don't care about their jobs because there is no accountability. Shame on you Valarie. Shame on you usps. Your tax money hard at work! read more

If I could give zero stars I would! One person working the desk while a line 20 deep waits. More employees are in the back but no one is coming to help. Multiple employees visible, but none of them made an effort to assist despite the long line. It's frustrating to witness such blatant disregard for customer service. Will USPS be responsible if the package gets stolen......I doubt it. One of the many reasons why they are having such financial problems. Obviously don't hire people that are able to read. Very disappointed in my Postal Service. I went up to the counter a girl with glasses was helping me I asked her to have my package redelivered to my apartment. She looks at the address and says, "oh no we aren't delivering packages on that street anymore." My address is .... Palm Desert, CA. I asked her why not that doesn't make any sense. She replied that the apartment management does not want to get new mailboxes and so the US Postal Office is refusing to leave packages. I replied my package is a 50lb bag of food for my animals it does not fit in any mailbox so what does that have to do with the reasoning for you guys denying delivery to my house. After going back and forth and her not having a valid reason I asked to speak to a supervisor. She goes to the back and comes back with a form to fill out and that the supervisor is not available. I said that's find I will wait I would like to speak to someone and get this resolved I do not have time to come back I work Monday through Friday 8-5. She goes to the back and comes out and says no the manager Valarie will not speak with you she's busy. I continued to wait, and it hit 5pm waited 30min and no one came to speak with me. The tall girl I do not know her name asked me to leave, or she will call the cops. I was not bothering or making a scene all I asked was to speak to a supervisor and all I got was poor communication from everyone at this office. Anther lady by the name of Danielle came up to me and asked to help me. I explained the situation and she even agreed that this did not make much sense. This is so frustrating on my end that I order an oversized package that has my pet's food in it that I always order, and I can't get a valid reason to why it cannot be redelivered or a supervisor to communicate with. I ordered the same package back in February and was delivered right to my door and a couple months later I order the same thing and I'm being told no we aren't delivering to that street at all. Very disappointed in management I do apricate Danielle she worked in delivery listened to my concerns and instead of throwing me a paper to fill out a complaint said she would see if she can get someone to redeliver this for and after I left. Was that so much to ask for from someone who is a supervisor it's ridiculous. This is a general complaint for all usps. I sent an Apple computer to my uncle which ended up being demolished by this stupid company. I purchased 50.00 in insurance as I was not expecting any problems with this delivery. This company is AWFUL and can not be trusted. I've been through three appeals and they completely deny to mention they did any damage to this computer and keep saying because I didn't purchase enough insurance they won't cover replacing or fixing the computer. They blatantly dropped this box causing it to split open. That is wrong and they should pay for what there workers damaged. The insurance is for lost or stolen property. I will be using FedEX or UPS from now on. At least I know they stand behind their deliveries. This is a government agency, do NOT trust it. They don't care about anyone but themselves. read more

I've gone in twice to this post office to renew my passport and get a new for my child. Maribel the employee they have in the position to help with this service, is disgustingly rude. She literally acts like she hates working there, and also hates people as well. This is not in any way a racial post, we are both of Mexican descent. It's sad for employees to think that they can actually treat customers the way she treated me in front of my son and other people. Maybe instead of telling the customer that they are "literally the 100th person making the same request" and that "I know it's not here" is not the way to handle it. No line. Nobody waiting. I have never had worse service with USPS until this post office started delivering my mail/packages. Many many times they have put other people's mail and packages in my mail box and mine in other people's. Many times I have expected a package to be delivered on a certain day because I had gotten a notification saying "package out for delivery." And then I get another notification way before the end of the day saying "package ready for pickup- Palm Desert." Its frustrating and when you call, no one picks up the phone or the wait time is 1hr+ long. Poor customer service. read more

Since I moved to Palm Desert I have had so much trouble with getting my packages. It has been a nightmare. I am calling them as I write this. It rings and rings & they NEVER pick up! Last week I got someone by the name of Anna and she was so rude and nasty. If you hate your job THAT much then quit! Shame on you. So as others have said on here I will get a notification that my package is out for delivery. It NEVER arrives and is already a day or two late. Then it will get updated saying another date 1 or sometimes 2 days out! What...need to go have a margarita? Obvious what is going on. I have been calling this location today for over an hour with no answer. Rings and rings over and over. Obvious they don't want to finish delivering for that day. I am so sick of this. On now for 40 minutes to an hour with the main USPS number. Thanks...a gift I needed by tomorrow, Sunday is not here and I ordered this back in MAY! I ordered it then FOR A REASON. Get with it and stop PUNISHING innocent people because you hate your job! Packages opened, someone actually "tried on" a dress I ordered & I guess couldn't get her fat you know what into it so she stuffed it back into the box and didn't even bother to seal it properly! This location never answers the phone. I called very often off and on for two weeks from out of state and could never reach a person. Phone rings until it goes dead. Every single time. I finally called a post office from a town nearby and explained my problem. This person confided that this office never answers the phone, that they just let it ring, and that it's been a problem. (This person was able to help me.) If this is a reoccurring issue and other nearby offices know this office never answers the phone, then there is a superior manager somewhere not doing their job. read more
