I came to pick up my mail on hold at the US post office on Sunrise in Palm Springs. What a horrible experience! First I waited in line for 10 minutes to speak with someone at the counter. When I finally get to speak with someone, I'm informed I have to go to another window to pick up my mail. I'm still waiting..its been 30 minutes thus far. I had a problem with a priority mail box shipped to me. It was tracked as delivered. No one could find it. I went to the Palm Springs Post Office and I was seen by a supervisor in aprox 10 minutes and the package was delivered to my office reception desk that same afternoon. read more

This is the best post office I think I've ever been to. The employees are super helpful and nice and funny and attentive and intuitive. The lines move fast and the place is clean and it feels really easy to send things. Also, I recently visited to mail something, and when I went back into my van, beside me in a truck that pulled up, was a clown fully dressed with complete make up and huge pants and shoes. The clown slowly turned its head to me and smiled in a creepy way, and before I knew what was happening, the clown had returned back to his truck with a handful of mail. I guess I never thought about the age old question, where do clowns pick up their mail? Anyway, come for the mailing and stay for the clowns. read more

I'm surprised the United States Postal Service tolerates this kind of nasty, rude, hateful attitude from its employees. Let's be clear, this is why AI WILL replace her soon! worst post office i've ever suffered the misfortune of being "served" by. as a person with mobility limitations, mail delivery is quite important to me - i do much of my shopping online. so the fact that i'm now living in a neighborhood served by the incompetents and customer-hating cretins at this post office is most distressing. some stats: fully 20% of the packages addressed to me never arrive (except when a neighbor who has received my misdelivered mail brings one by). i'm talking about 2-3 per month. then a recent outrage: a package, sent from Germany, made it all the way to my letter carrier's truck, marked "out for delivery.". i was pleased: as usual, i was home (see "mobility issues," above). 45 minutes later, the shipper sent me an email to say that delivery had been attempted but no one was home to sign for it. (the shipper noted that they hadn't ASKED for signature, so didn't know why the post office was doing this). NEVERMIND the fact i was HOME when delivery was supposedly attempted. no one came to my door - maybe the neighbor who gets 20% of my packages got a visit? well, it's a pain, but i can go pick it up, right? i take the notice that was left, as well as. the shipper's email with tracking info, to this wretched post office. i wait in a short bit slow moving line for 10 minutes, then when it's my turn the clerk abruptly tells me package pickup is another line and NEXT! miffed, i wheel myself over where directed. there a surly young woman thrust a slip of paper at me and told me to write down my tracking number. i did so. she glanced at it and said "that's not our tracking number. it shouldn't start with letters." i have literally nothing to say to this non sequitur. perhaps letters are unusual, i don't know, but "look," i say, gesturing with my phone. "this is the US post office website and here are the tracking results for this number. it sure looks like it works!" "not ours," she repeats, turning away. i admit it, at this point my memory gets fuzzy, events jumble together and my thoughts and words become increasingly disturbing. but i do know that i made it to the parking lot -- and into my car -- before i started screaming "no! no f-ing WAY this is happening, NO!" and laughing in a maniacal and completely unhinged fashion. i vividly recall my conviction that driving was out of the question until i got a grip on myself. at some point, i made it home and took to my bed for the rest of the day. avoid this place. seriously consider moving if in their service area (92262, 92263, 92264). for reals. read more

Haven't read other reviews. Don't care to. But what I can see is this Post Office has 3 out of 5 stars. What I can't see is why. Lines were short. Service was prompt. I was in applying for my first passport. Both Sonia and Ellen were helpful. Ellen is the kind of wholesome person you want working for you and helping serve you when you arrive to any establishment. They keep undelivering mail, mainly because delivery people don't speak Spanish. It's California folks, learn Spanish and hire some Spanish speaking people so there's no confusion on the names where the mail is being delivered. "Antonia" is also "Toña" or "Tonya", very simple. If you're delivering to "Deborah" and someone writes "Debbie" or "Deb", are you going to return that mail? No, of course not. Well it's the same in Spanish. Over 40% of the population in CA is Hispanic and you tend to marginalize them, why? Post Office is to serve everybody, so do it... ineptos! read more

Looking at the reviews I have to say Every business receives unfavorable reviews. Every business usually has "paycheck employees" (those employees who seem to care about collecting their paycheck and could care less about customers or the quality of service they provide). I have to say overall, I really like this place and the staff there. It's sometimes the highlight of my day. I go there every day it's open. Sometimes multiple times a day. Everyone is always pleasant to me and nice while being very helpful. Francis has been great several times assisting me while tracking down missing packages. Lulu, Ellen, Rita, Sofia, Denzel and (yes, even) Chris are professional and friendly while they assist you with all the tasks on what you need to accomplish while there. They seem to all get along and like each other which is usually a good thing for everyone (their boss, company health and customers). read more

Who came up with the idea of a Lobby DIRECTOR???? INGENIOUS! This is the absolute worst time of year to hang in line at any USPS location right? NOPE! The lines are short, the wait time is negligible and service is accompanied with a smile, and yes it is the USPS. I put off sending my packages because of my horrific experience with lines into the parking lot and lots of angry customers seething at the mega slow service. Someone needs a medal for creating a fun workplace and the gentleman who helps everyone figure out what forms, info, etc. they need even before they show up at the service window. I would like to nominate the Palm Springs Post Office for the "Best in Show" category and to be a beacon and example for others to follow suit. This approach is win-win and a true competition with UPS now! High recommend for the high holiday season, how wonderful is this place off peak? You can bet I have a new lease on life with my experience here. Ellen Miller! She's the sweetest postal worker ever. Always smiling & professional she really makes you feel like you've got all your needs met and secure with your purchase. In her work she could easily NOT small talk but when she does it's pleasant and enjoyable. Taking that extra 30 seconds to say "So, how is your day?" while smiling is just WONDERFUL. You don't get that "I have to go to the post office/dentist/DMW feeling" when you are in Ellen's care! I have to say I have had a great experience with Brian and Chris Kane. Those guys are just focused and want to truly get your mail/package situation on point. I am going on name tags I have remembered but the best part of YELP is that you can leave these little reviews when someone does a good job and it helps to tell them in this way. Lets face it folks, the post office has had one hell of a set of adjustments the past few years,. This is why Amado is my favorite post office. I have been here on tax day, Xmas week and at the last minute to accept a express/overnight package cutoff, each time these 3 workers provided fantastic customer service and the high professionalism. Postal carrier routes in Vista Norte. We lost our mail carrier of many years. Marshall was the best. In the nearly three years since his retirement we have been relegated to being an "Auxiliary Route" and taken off of route 25. Our mail comes at the end of the day between 6-7 PM. The past two days we had no delivery at all. I have written to the Postmaster in San Diego who governs the PS office. No response whatsoever. Have tried to get a meeting with our Postmaster for two years to no avail. This has been going on long before COVID-19 hit. If anyone knows of a link or some form of contact that would get us to a sympathetic ear please chime in! read more

Yeah, it's easy to criticize USPS services, but as far as employees go, this location on Amado has the most helpful, friendliest, and MOST PATIENT crew I've ever seen. I've seen people show up with the thing they want to send, get on line, and only when they get to the window, do they say "How do I send this?" and proceed to ask for a box, tape, labels, a pen. They literally did *nothing* until they got to the window. In any other post office in America, they'd be stoned like a scene from The Lottery. At Adamo, the way-too-kind employee packed the thing for them. This has happened at least twice when I was there. The level of service is unbelievable. We don't deserve them. read more

This is the worst place Of business I have ever been to. Recently I had to go twice for simple renewal passport photos. The first time I went there was a woman standing at the counter on her phone not helping anyone. I had to wait for another person to free up because she ignored us and never looked up from her phone. After having to make an appointment then next day to get the photos I still had to wait 30 minutes. When the woman came out of the passport photo office she called for appointments after mine. I let her know we had an 11:30 and she immediately became rude as if she never makes a mistake. She asked my name and I told her, but the reservation was under my sons name so she snapped his name back at me. I gave here some paperwork they asked me to fill out that included our sons parents names (we are a gay male couple). She then rudely asked where his mom was. She was asking very personal questions very loudly in the middle of the post office. When I told her he didn't have a mom, she then proceeded with, well is she on the birth certificate. I then had to tell her I front of the post office that he was adopted. Then she wanted his adoption papers. It was such a rudely managed interrogation in front of my son and the entire post office. No discretion and no attempt to take us to the room to ask personal questions or inform of us why she was interrogating me. My son was really getting upset. I finally said she was rude and walked out. I muttered a name at her that I'm not proud of but she was litterallt attacking us with this integration no explanation of why and doing it publicly and loudly so the whole post office was knowing our personal information. Having no common sensitivity that the adoption situation is a triggger emotionally for my son. This woman should be fired immediately and this place should undergo diversity and sensitivity training. Of course I tried to call the manager and no one answers the phone there. Disgusting place of business. read more

The last three times we talked to them, they were absolutely useless and most recently seemed completely unfazed when I suggested an employee might be stealing packages. Amazon is using usps quite a bit. Never had an issue till recently. On 8/22 I had a notice my package had been delivered. Checked front door and no package. Called the number supplied by Amazon for missing packages from usps. After 45 minutes on hold . spoke to a person who assigned a case # to the issue. Since then I have called the local post office every day. The call was answered 3 days out of 4. It was crazy. It was like they were hearing the story for the first time. Tomorrow will be 6 days. This literally happened about five minutes ago and I was so insulted I felt compelled to write this ASAP. Just called the post office to inquire about mail that was being held there for me. Spoke to a 'gentleman' with an accent, did not catch his name, but when I proceeded to ask if I can have someone pick it up for me (since I work during post office hours across town in Palm Desert), he was completely rude and unnecessarily aggressive. He SHOUTED that NO ONE but me can pick it up, and what did I think, that they can just give out mail to anyone? His tone was totally demeaning and unnecessary for the simple question I had asked, and when I pointed out that he didn't have to talk to me as if I were an idiot, he yelled at me and accused me of putting words in his mouth. I understand the post office isnt necessarily a ''service'' industry, but I certainly dont appreciate being berated to when asking a simple question. I wish I would have gotten the angry, rude, and inappropriate employee's name, so I can warn you all to avoid this angry individual at ALL COSTS- unless you want to be shouted at, and made feel like you are an idiot, all for asking a simple question. read more

Nice building and location but, terrible staff. I was just at this post office over 2 hours before they closed because when I tracked my package it said it arrived. So, I went to pick it up as it was a Christmas gift for my mom, the woman told me she would look but it's probably not there. Strange right? So she she proceeds to "look" for it but SHORTLY returns stating "we don't have it, I looked through everything". I'm no genius but, pretty sure it takes longer than 5 minutes to locate a package. I stressed to Lisa I believe it was, that this was a Christmas gift for my mother who came from Virginia, she couldn't even answer if my package was on a truck, much less if it was even in palm springs. I get it is the holiday season and all, but when you pay 30 dollars extra for shipping and it arrives but no one can seem to tell you where your package is, I find it ridiculous. Most of the counter people are pleasant and efficient. I am sad that the tribe is going to tear down this architecturally significant building for more overflow casino parking. The building could be better maintained, the landscaping is an eye sore and the homeless garbage/dirt needs to be power washed off every now and again. Frequently, my mail is jam packed into my mail box (price nearly doubled in less than 8 years) and the letters are crumpled. Still no way to opt out of junk mail =-( . My local delivery person does not ring the door bell when leaving a package, so it risks theft and sits out in direct 118 degree sunlight melting away. =-( read more
