DIANA is rude and unhelpful. She snapped at the gentleman in front of me arguing with him, the man was very calm and collected. So I thought great I'm next. I had a simple question and before I could finish she snapped at me and told me I do not know what I am doing. Which is why I came in with the question in the first place? Absolutely awful customer service, and made me, and the guy ahead of me, look and feel stupid. I live maybe 5 minutes from this location, I'll drive all the way to the other post office off Dalidio for future assistance. Looks like they removed my post about an assault that happened on my property on 12/01/23. Their employees don't know how to follow direction working for USPS. The truck pulled down my street at 10:30, on the way out she stopped at the stop sign, then reversed in my direction to ask me "what my problem was?" (Left.) x2 she comes back a few minutes later, looking for me? X3 she comes back again, flying down the street, stops in front of my driveway, starts recording me from the USPS vehicle, jumps out to assault me, grabs my iPhone out of my hand and smashes it on my sidewalk. I'm disabled and walk with a cane for support. I immediately went to the hospital for medical attention and she was arrested for battery and destruction of property. read more

Called about a missing package was told they made a mistake and put it in the wrong box and that they would correct it. Called again 4 hours later was told the same thing and asked to call back in 30min. Called back and was told the same thing... guess what? I still don't have my package or an update regarding it. Why ask for your number if your not gonna use it? So I basically sat at home waiting on updates for over 6 hours and still nothing resolved and no updates after they made the mistake. read more

Went in for Passport Appt for newborn baby and was told baby's mother had to be there also. Did not know that. Said let me call her and see if she can come over. He said okay he will try to get us in. Wife leaves work drives over and we wait for 3 people to do their passports after us. Then at noon, new lady comes in and we explain our appt was at 1115 and we didn't know the mother needed to be there so she left work to come over and we have everything ready to do passport. She says they had full appt schedule and we would have to reschedule for another time. Meanwhile the guy that said he would squeeze us in went to lunch. Didn't even help us when he saw us waiting there. Soon as his relief was there he just left to lunch and didn't even communicate with her that we were still trying to get our passport done. The lady at the register, Diana, was so not kind at all. I went with a client of mine to mail a gift off to her child. Diana kept cutting my client off. She told us, in a very rude manner, to get out of line and fill out an address. I understand that's a rule and I don't mind following it but the way she told my client was extremely unacceptable. I really hope this issue is addressed. I will not be back to this post office and will not be bringing anymore clients here. I'd rather drive somewhere else and have a good experience. Usually we take for granted that our post office will deliver our mail and do it in a timely manner. However last week I had prescription medication missing from my mailbox. Upon calling the Post Office, I was promptly called back by Steve the Postal Inspector. My issue was resolved the very next day. I went on a two week trip and had USPS hold my mail. Yesterday, when I picked it up, I noted a package should be present. I asked the USPS employee if he could go check for it, and offered the tracking nbr. He said he had to load a truck. I told him that's fine... I'll wait until he's finished. His reply was 'then I'm going home' and walked away. I said 'what is this, a Seinfeld episode?'. There were a dozen people in line so I just left. Yup. A screw up on my part. I mailed a Birthday Card to my mother and forgot to put a stamp on the envelope. Dropped it off at the Pismo Beach Post Office outside collection boxes. I realized my error upon arriving home and called the Post Office. Steve answered the phone, took my information, and then proceeded to find my card that was already on the truck to Santa Barbara. I've had the most outstanding service from one of the postal workers here. Not only was she very friendly, but she also suggested that I repackage my parcel to a different box to save money. I've previously used the flatrate boxes for light packages without realizing that priority boxes cost less and take the same amount of time to arrive & not once did any employee mention this to me before. Went here for a passport appointment. While on vacation here not only did they have next day appointments the process was quick and seem less. Enrique was outstanding. Checked our documents and forms to make sure everything was in order before our passport time. Helped us right at appointment time and was in and out. Great job Pismo Beach post office and Enrique. I went in today on a 'Saturday' of all days to track down where a my few of my Amazon Packages had been declared as delivered last Sunday at my mailbox. This was in fact not the case, but I decided to wait around a few days to see maybe if they would be eventually be delivered and just show up in my locked mailbox. I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received regarding my minor issue. I spoke with the supervisor on duty Gabby. She believed the locker key might been placed in the incorrect mailbox, hence why I couldn't find my packages. She stated that she would be sure her staff member who operates the route for my mail service to place the locker into my mailbox to be sure I would receive my delayed delivery. She was even kind of enough to take my cell number if my packages did not arrive as expected. By 1:30 this afternoon I found the locker key in my box 'Èt Voila' my packages we're located. Therefore I am happy and assured I have my Amazon and packages in my possession. We're all human and we make mistakes. As long as a person, company or even a government agency owns up to their mistakes and makes it right. Then all should be well. read more

On Friday December 18th 2020, I dropped a letter in a mailbox drop spot in Arroyo Grande, I remembered I didn't put a stamp on it and when I called I was told that Pismo Beach post office handled that mail box, I called Pismo Beach post office and a supervisor I can't remember his name really took the time to help me he called the route carrier named Scott who picked up the mail today on Dec 19 2020, and Scott got my mail out for me and I went to Pismo Beach post office and put a stamp on it and mailed my mail. Oh, Christmas. How annoying it is when your entire family lives across the United States in South Carolina.... In I walk, with a bag full of presents, in an effort to figure out if I should send the packages regular mail or "flat rate" shipping, how many boxes I'll need for each family, etc. I was completely overwhelmed and thankfully the woman behind the counter noticed my frustration and GLADLY walked over to me to help. She picked up all my clusters of gifts and told me how I should send each package, showed me which boxes I'd need, and was extremely helpful. I should have gotten her name, but she was middle-aged with a Southern accent, and SO sweet. Thanks to that lady, I saved money, time and frustration at the dreaded post office during Christmastime. I will take all of my opinions out and just list all the issues I have had over the last year as a business customer: 1 - Notifications of delivery attempts rarely happen 2 - Packages are left with other businesses sporadically, and it's my job to figure out it's been delivered and where. 3 - People answering phone cannot reach carriers 4 - Managers are always on vacation when you ask to go over their head. 5 - I have been threatened that my mail would not be delivered, and that they didn't have to. 6 - I have had 3 packages given to me without proof that it should (notification slip, id, business card) Solution - get 3 day rush from UPS and they will not go through the USPS. You can't complain, or you get retaliation threats, so figure a way to not use them, and they will go out of business, they are working on that anyway. read more

I have mixed views and wish I could give a three star but am so angry right now I would rather not. Two experiences: 1) In store and 2) The dreaded Mailbox In-store is great, I have only had helpful people- the end. Mailbox - Good C#&^! I have lived at my current residence for a year. In that time I have had consistent issues with the mail driver NOT taking the mail to be posted. I put the flag up, the mail delivery agent puts the flag down, inserts new mail, leaves my posting mail inside. This has happened at least three times now with my rent check...which then ends up being late. I have done the back and forth with the flag for multiple days before the mail delivery person takes it. The longest period of time was with a "return to sender" letter which went well over a week. Seriously! I get people don't pick up their mail everyday, me included, but when a flag is up - that should be a clue. Also, isn't it their job to pay attention. One huge empty box with one nicely addressed and stamped piece of new mail and one with writing on it " Return to Sender". Nothing else in the box, flag up. I have left a note this time, maybe not pleasant but not entirely rude, begging to PLEASE TAKE THE MAIL! but not in all caps. Good Grief! Unfortunately, by the time I get home and notice, the mail store is closed, too late to call and they don't have individual store email addresses, that I can find. So my only resort is to call during the day from work on my lunch which ends up being inconvenient and so I don't call. Pismo Post Office: Get smarter people - PLEASE! read more

Got our son's passport in 8 business days. Submitted our son's passport application February 7, got his passport in the mail on February 20th (2/19 was President's Day). No need for expedite processing. :D I forgot to mention in my previous review that the USPS will NOT photocopy documents for you. Whatever steps you see in my previous review below that calls for a photocopy, get it done elsewhere, like at a Kinko's, and bring it with you. Otherwise you will be waiting in line for nothing, like the two out of six applicants that were ahead of us. read more

Pismo Beach Post Office employees refuse to scan the tracking numbers on my packages that I have printed labels at home. This SIMPLE SCAN is my only proof that I have dropped off my package! They refuse to scan & MAKE me place it on the counter within a heaping pile of other un-scanned packages. Not only do they refuse to scan packages (after waiting in a slow moving line), they NEVER scan the packages that they force you to drop off on the counter. The packages just sit there, unsecured, all day until eventually they are taken to a post office where, hopefully, someone will scan the tracking number. read more

I've lived here on the Central Coast of California 19 years , and I generally try to avoid going to the Pismo Beach Post Office , I prefer the Arroyo Grande Post Office. Without going into specifics, how I was treated here recently was horrible and completely unprofessional , and I'm not one that usually will put in a complaint but I wont let this go. This is the worst post office in the entire county with no regards to customer service. This post office closes promptly at 5:30. I arrived at 5:31 and the door was already locked. There were other people in line inside already and I watched the people behind the counter listen after their transaction had already been completed. I waited around for someone to come over and unlock the doors to let the customer out. When Diana unlocked the door I told her I showed up at 5:31 and she said that they were already closed, with no apology or anything. They were closed. Going to the post office is a bad enough experience but I work 45 minutes from my homes post office and all I needed to do was pick up a certified letter. A 1 minute transaction at 5:35 could have proven me wrong about this post office, but Diana screwed it up. The reason why the post office gets a bad reputation is people like Diana. read more

I try not to leave bad reviews. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt . This is not my post office. However it is the post office that delivers mail in that area Tracking showed my package had been delivered. However the recipients did not receive the package. So I called the post office and talked to a supervisor. When I told her the package has not been delivered to my friends house she said that she would have the carrier check on it and call me back. she did not. So the next day I called again she said the same thing she would have the regular carrier check on it and call me back. Again she did not. No one seems to know where the package is. Very poor customer service. The problem with the small Postoffice is everyone is friends they all know each other so there is no repercussions for people that fail to do their jobs.
