Never answer phone (530) 246-2571. Called many times. It just rings and rings until you get a busy signal. They used to answer the phone maybe a year ago but now never. The about WORST goddamn post office in America. It's worse because I AM a letter carrier, not only does my DPS come completely screwed up but they regularly delay or lose packages. I had a package that went through 6 different hubs. Each hub in and out in one day. Until we get to Redding. 3 days later and it hasn't moved. It was supposed to be here on the 3rd of July its now the 9th and no one knows where it is. Absolutely fantastic! I have no complaints from anyone at this location. My courier knew me well and was always attentive. He knew I was making a long distance move and so he made sure to tell me to go tell the postal workers in the office in person to forward my mail. I just got off the phone with a woman there to see what would happen with my packages (since I couldn't get a hold of anyone at the company when I told them that I had a change of address), and she was extremely helpful, kind, caring and friendly. Such a huge difference in service provided from this post office compared to any out of town office. I just want to thank everyone there too. Highly recommend using them. read more

Nearly ripped off hugely!- Went to mail a package at the Yuba St. Post Office yesterday, we'd already weighed and measured it and used the online postal calculator so we knew to expect it to cost around $40. The clerk Danielle told us it would be $127!! She told us it was because of the measurements she took and it was 26in long, which I knew was incorrect. I asked her to please remeasure it and she got very angry with us and insisted it was correct, but I pleaded with her to please remeasure. So when she did I looked closer at her tape measure and the first 3+ inches of her tape measure were CUT OFF and the clip reattached!! I showed this to her and she insisted it was correct--!?! I offered that we measure it with the unfaulty section of the tape measure and she got really mad and told us to wait aside and she'd get a supervisor. Finally a lady filling in for a supervisor presented herself and remeasured the package with me and agreed it was 22in long and the tape measure was 'faulty', but returned the tape measure to Danielle and she is likely still doing this to customers today!? ?Who knows how many people have been ripped off and are still being overcharged due to her 'trusty' tape measure? It took her forever to process our refund and then correctly charge us the $44 it actually was. I apologized to her several times for the inconvenience as she was clearly furious with us, and she never once offered us and apology, she was so nasty. We have always had such nice and friendly service there, but this was the worst experience ever. We learned to always bring our own tape measure when mailing a package. And avoid the window with Danielle! We felt this action was deliberate and possibly criminal. read more

I had missed a package delivery that I was excited about. Unfortunately, I realized this about 4:55. I drove quickly and afraid I wouldn't make it to the post office before closing I called to say hey, I'm on my way! He was so nice, he said it's okay drive careful, park in the back and ring the buzzer and I'll bring you your package. Seriously?? And he did. I know it may have been 5 minutes after closing, and I'm not sure the policy, but thank you so much!!! You are awesome! read more

The worker named Donna was such a liar. I had to call back my package and put a intercept request. After the intercept attempt successfully processed, she entered in the system and reversed the request and let my package being picked up. and then she just blatantly lied to me over the phone that she had no idea what happened and suggested it could only be me who canceled the request, while the USPS website clearly states that "an intercept request cannot be edited or canceled once it's been placed". Now i lost my package because of this idiot named Donna. She thinks she was helping someone when she didn't know what actually was going on.what a self-righteous liar. I have mailed several important payments at the Yuba St office only to hear later that the receivers never got their payments. It would be one thing if this simply happened once, but this is now the fourth time. This has resulted in late fees as well as people becoming distrusting of my honesty. I have to check bank statements, put holds on checks, rewrite and send via a more expensive courier. I have completely stopped using the drive up mailboxes on the side street because I have seen the drop slot so full that you couldn't even fit another letter into it!! Someone's not doing their job or there may be a greater problem. Patrons beware. read more
