This store took advantage of the elderly. We shipped out a package that normally cost us $48.00 to ship. When we were rang up it went up to $122.33. When I asked the customer service rep why it cost more he stated the box was 2" longer. The customer rep should have suggested cutting the box down by 2" as I mentioned it was longer than I needed but the only box I had. This would have saved over $74.00. Be ware...and be prepared to be taken advantage of. read more

This is where I always go to send back returns from online orders. I believe $3 is a bit much to print out a single shipping label on a regular piece of paper which is why I'm only giving four stars instead of five. The service is good, although, there are times people must synchronize their watches to show up at the exact same time creating a Christmas line out the door. Federal documents passport, etc need paperwork sent with them and the copy cannot be notarized in th US not just California. Your employee could have explained that if she had know that. I've been in twice and both times the place was super busy. The staff were great even with the crowd. I needed a bit extra help sending a document to them to print and they made it happen. This is the only UPS store in town and they know it! They milk their customers who have boxes there for more and more money. They raise their prices every year on the boxes yet they don't have enough staff or enough parking. When we first started with them 5 yrs ago the contract we signed never said anything about if you go over so many packages you will get changed extra money from every package over that allowance. After we recently renewed our box this year we are told you can now only have two people get their mail at this box. Now we either pay more money and move to a bigger box or take our two college kids (who go to college locally) off the box and keep our current box. This franchise owner is typical of the type of people in charge today, greedy and there is never enough money for them. This franchise owner needs some competition. I have used other UPS stores in two other states when I lived there and these were never their practices of milking the customer dry but there was competition in the other places so maybe that is the difference. Yes, we were told this is this franchise owner's rules per his employees at the store. Just remember people read these reviews and it can cost you customers! read more

Always a notary on sight! Even on the weekends!! Had to wait in line approximately 15-20 minutes due to the season....but was worth it.

HORRIBLE customer service. I arrived at the store at 551pm and all 3 cashiers were each only dealing with ONE person. Here's the thing, ALL of them were dealing with small talk. Sidenote, I had to use the bathroom at a restaurant in the same mall/plaza, and when I came back, the guy says "sorry we're closing up". When I explained "um I was waiting in line for 3-4 minutes and all 3 of your cashiers were engaging in small talk with one customer each, that's unfair" the guy said "sorry there's nothing we can do about it." 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Customer service is not the strong trait. While waiting in line, I observed them being quite rude to A customer who is trying to make a Nike return and having trouble pulling up the return information because the location lacks very good cell phone service. I thought to myself she's kind of snappy. I then began getting my fingerprints taken on legacy fingerprint cards. She first asked if I had ever done them before and having done them many many times I said yes. She then rudely chastised me for getting slightly out of the box on one of the prints. I acknowledged but said that they were not that picky to which she was very rude. I subsequently left and will never do business here again. I should acknowledge that they also do not have the proper equipment to do ink cards and simply use the counter. From looking at past reviews, the owners may want to take a true look into customer service levels as this is a customer service business. It looks like several have expressed concern but the owner is quick to make excuses rather then work on a solution. read more

I was sending several boxes just before the end of the day on one of the hottest, triple-digit, days in Redding. I left just as they were locking up. The doors locked at exactly 6:00pm. As I started the car I noticed an elderly lady with one small box walk slowly out in the blazing heat and make her way to the door. She could barely balance the package as she pulled on the handle at 6:02pm. No luck. She began to notice the sign on the door with the times, looking confused that she had missed it. As she went to leave it suddenly opened and a girl let her in. I'm not sure who was staying a little later that night, but I can assure you I will never go anywhere else after seeing this gesture of humanity and kindness. Let's all give a few more minutes of our time to make the world a better place. Bravo UPS Store, bravo! read more

Very impressed with the service I received and felt a review was warranted. Had to have some documents notarized and Nathan went above and beyond. Not only did he catch errors in the documents but he was patient enough to have the documents resent and corrected so I could finish the notary that same visit. AMAZING SERVICE ! 10/10 making this my preferred place to ship, package , return any item I need to mail. Nathan gave me excellent customer service and support today with only 15 minutes until closing. I needed to box a small/medium sized fridge tonight (to return it tomorrow) and called UPS with the dimensions in hopes of purchasing a box that fit to size . I called up UPS and Nathan was quick to answer with his full on attention and suggested that I could use two boxes and sandwich them together to create a box that fit just right , and that they could package it tonight and I would be able to pick it up early morning tomorrow. Which fit perfectly with my schedule . Turns out Nathan was able to package it right there and then after helping me get it out of my vehicle. 10 minutes before closing time and at an affordable price ! Thank you so much! Because of their inability to scan an Amazon barcode from your phone, they charge you $2.25 in order print out a label. Pathetic.

A someone who is very familiar with the operations of a UPS Store, having operated a high volume platinum store for 18 years, I was literally shocked at the prices they wanted to charge me to pack 3 Cutco knives. The total for just packing was $21, NOT including shipping. I politely told the associate that I thought it was a bit steep and she explained to me that was what was required if I wanted it insured. For the record, the box she was suggesting was way overkill, so i asked if she was able to use a smaller box which she declined so i suggested one that i know they carry. she told me that she could use that box, but would have to "red label" my package because it wasn't packed appropriately. "Red Labeling" isn't a UPS Store policy or procedure, so this store has made up its own rules in that regard. She made no effort to save the sale, offer a discount and gave me the option of overpaying for the packaging or having my package "red labeled". Had she offered a discount of 15% I likely would have done it and the. paid for shipping to New York totaling close to $40. Instead, I paid $10 for a large amount of bubble wrap and a box, will expertly pack the box myself and take my package directly to UPS in Anderson and save myself the $11. She lost out on at least an additional $30 from the sale and now has lost a customer. In response to your standard form response: I'm very aware that each center is individually owned and operated and that you can set your own pricing. However there are still PACE guidelines that are suggested pricing for boxes, packing materials, packing service and other services that the UPS Store offers so price gouging doesn't occur. I guess customer retention isn't a concern of yours since you're the only UPS Store in 100+ miles. So the fact that I can buy a box and bubble wrap for $10 cheaper would indicate that your pricing for packaging an 18x12x12 CUT DOWN for 3 knives is overpriced. So there was no reduction in cost for using less materials and you're charging $10 for packing service which is unheard of for a box that small. That and the fact that I asked if there was anything else that could be done and Chelsea was adamant that there wasn't, which we both know isn't true. read more

Sarah is amazing! She is an angel. She takes such wonderful care of me each time I go in. I have had to mail around 50 or so things lately and she always greets me with a beaming smile. I just wanted to say thank you to Todd and all the folks at the Redding UPS Store. We went in last night at 5:30 and needed something notarized. Todd was doing a customer in front of us who kept apologizing to us. 30 minutes later, we understood why. He did 28 signatures for them. Said it was his record. 18 prior I think he said. Every time we have been in, the folks there have always been smiling and as helpful as possible. Todd even made us a PDF and took the time to make sure it went to our email correctly. We have had times where we were frustrated with them because Amazon would not take it back through them, so we would either have to go to Kohl's, or pay to use them. I see people getting angry everywhere we go, because the businesses are understaffed and it seems to take forever. Lowe's. Walgreens, Home depot, Domino's, etc... We too are experiencing this as we can't find dog groomers to work in our shop. Put yourself in their position when the line is backed up out the door. I have a great deal of things shipped to me from here. I have a problem with Amazon as well. I get my mail here. I am a customer. I am also an asshole. The people who work here have to deal with the general public's stupid questions and sometimes even stupider demands. Some examples include: "Well why hasnt it arrived yet?" "Why are your prices so high?" "Can I send my dog? How about my cat?" For people who continue to ask such brain busters, here is a secret. Tracking numbers are your friend.
