It's about time: Fox Island finally has a new post office!!…read more The old P.O., which had been in operation for decades, was housed in a cramped little building next to the Fox Island Store. I don't know any specific facts or figures on the number of people served or packages handled, but every time I visited the place it was obviously inadequate for the amount of traffic it was receiving. I'm sure the entire population of the island was excited to see this new facility being built! The new Post Office, now located right across the street from the Fox Island Store, still isn't a very large place. At least now there's room for people to queue up INSIDE the building to do their business, though. More space also equals more P.O. boxes and mailing materials and such. There is also more parking available. One thing that did NOT expand, however, are the business hours: 08:00 - 16:30 (closed for lunch from 13:00 - 13:30) M-F and 09:00 - 10:30 on Saturday.

The Supervisor is polite and listens attentively however is very protective and biased toward his driver. "Send pictures on the day it happens. I can't do anything without proof." Well, how about all the hoops we've already jumped through and compromised on to accomodate this driver's half-truth's about their inability to safely deliver directly to the houses on this rural road? Now it seems that overersized packages are torn and damaged while being stuffed into mailboxes where they don't really fit, making them near impossible to get out. There is a oversized packaged delivery locker right next to the mailboxes (this being the compromise from them not wanting to deliver to the houses) but the driver apparently would rather do anything than get out of their car in order to use a package locker when they can just drive up to the mail boxes.

This is one of them and this is for THE post office. You could almost miss it, since it's basically a modular home on bricks. This post office is similar in style to the one in Bucoda. Small office for a very very very small town. They went above and beyond to complete my service - Josh took extra time to do a thorough job and complete minor repairs to the ducts when they found them. Konnor even went to buy a new part for my fireplace, and he was able to clean fireplace glass that probably hadn't been cleaned since the house was built. I'm embarrassed to say we've never had the fireplace serviced in the 25 years we've been in our home. I didn't realize it was something that should be done. Now I know! I moved the logs around to vacuum it out and could not figure out how to put the logs back properly in place. I called Perfect Temp and spoke with Amber. She was very friendly and knowledgable and made an excellent first impression as a representative of the company. I called a different place in Olympia earlier in the same day and the rep was condescending and kind of a jerk. I called Perfect Temp on Monday, 1/13/25. They had a cancellation and were able to come the next morning. Xxxxx arrived a couple minutes early. He was friendly and wasn't bothered by our little dogs barking at him. He got right to it. We were astounded when he finished. The fireplace looks brand new and runs like a charm. Instead of dusty, loud, inefficient and not pretty; we now have an immaculately clean beautiful, quiet fireplace, with a really nice fire. We are impressed enough with this one visit, that we are going to sign up for annual maintenance for our fireplace, heating/cooling and whatever other services they offer.
