It pains me to write this review but the experience my son had here this afternoon needs to be shared. Teaching young adults life skills is a must. And bringing something to the post office to send out is one of them. When I had my son return an item via mail he took it to this location. Upon his arrival he was met with an employee (named Soo) who was on her phone. Being that this was my son's first time at the post office, he brought his item to the counter where the employee rudely told him he needed to tape the box as it wasn't secured already. He did just that and came back to the counter where Soo abruptly told him he needed to write down on a piece of paper the "to" and from". He went back to the other counter, wrote down the "to" and "from" on a paper just as he was told to and came back to the counter where Soo was. Mind you, the office was not busy and there was no line. He was met with more rude responses from Soo: "did you not write down the to and from? It needs to go here! You need to cut it in half and tape it here! Do you have more tape? Never mind! I'll do it myself!" Basically it comes down to this: Be nice to others. What ever happened to customer service? What ever happened to helping others and treating them kindly? Sure, this was my 17 year old's first time at going to the Post Office but like I've always told him, there are many ways to say something. Your tone of voice, your attitude and your countenance says a lot. Soo - it is clear you do not like your job. Maybe you are having a bad day, month or year. Don't take it out on customers, especially someone you might think you can have your way with just because they are younger than you. My son was kind, didn't talk back to (which he clearly could have) but he was respectful and did everything you said. But your poor and unprofessional attitude is a reflection of the United States Postal Service. Shame on you for taking out your frustrations and poor attitude on my son. Ending note: if you need to go to the post office, choose another location. Do not go here. read more

After being told at Wedgwood post office that they could not issue my PM express refund that was not delivered by the guaranteed delivery date in their local office and unavailable online, I was advised to call USPS Customer Service who could. The USPS agent told me I was given incorrect information and advised me to request a refund online or go to a local postal office for an in person refund not necessarily Wedgwood. The postal clerk at Lake City was efficient and well informed, issuing my refund after having me complete a refund form. I could have saved time had I gone to Lake City office first. read more

Mostly friendly (one person works here that's not too personable) but everyone else makes up for it. They have a tough job with the variety of things they do here- but manage to do it all with smiles on their faces. I buy all my stamps here, mail packages and have them double check letters that I think need more postage (that usually don't). Clean inside, very 1960's vibe and bland colors. Attitude of the short old man was absolute garbage. Impatient, rude, disrespectful. He tried to immediately tell me they were closed the moment I walked in and was rude to the two people after me, one needed a single stamp and one only had a question. Stop having A S S H O L E S close at the end of the work day if they can't handle someone taking a few extra minutes after closing when they were there BEFORE closing. I was mailing something that has been causing me extreme emotional distress and ended up having a panic attack after the entire experience because I was at my breaking point and that employee just decided getting out the moment 6pm hit was more important than anything else in the world. read more

The worse Post Office I have ever encountered. Somebody in this facility opened my package prior to processing it for delivery. I' e heard stories from people that this location is known for theft by the postal employees. I will never again drop my package off at this location. NEVER! read more

That was by far the most enjoyable experience I've ever had at the post office. Rachelle was so helpful and kind to me. I usually feel uncomfortable asking questions but she encouraged it and helped me decide on the cheapest and quickest postage possible. She was incredibly kind. INCOMPETENT mail delivery. I have returned over 100 pieces of IRS notices. There is NO SUCH HOUSE number on Sand Point Way. What part of the mail delivery man's brain doesn't get it? There is no 12345 Sand Point Way NE. Maybe hit Google maps?!?! And last time the post office desk staff wouldn't accept them back. So I've bundled them and sent direct to IRS. Sad to think the local post office supports IRS fraud. Pretty obvious fraud. Mail man just keeps delivering to random mail boxes on our street, all the neighbors are getting these. My sister purchased a few items online and asked me to send them to Taiwan for her. I found this Post Office only one mile from where I live. I was very happy because I can walk there and walk my boys at the same time. First, I walked into Grocery Outlet because I thought the post office might be inside. And, the staff in Grocery Outlet told me it's right across street! It's too bad that there's no obvious sign. Second, regardless of the sign, the post office itself is very clean and neat. If you go there around 2PM, it's not so busy. Third, they allow dogs if your dogs are service dogs. I had to pretend I tight my dogs by the door (but I didn't) to continue what I was doing. Luckily, the staff there didn't kick me out! The flat rate price is a lot cheaper than FedEx or UPS. However, it still cost me $65 with shipping, box, and tape. This is just another typical example of lazy unionized government workers. 1. I work in Bellevue, and had a package that needed to be picked up at that post office. I left work early, and arrived at the post office at 5:20. The hours on the door says they close at 5:30. I knocked on the door, and they just ignored me. 2. The post carriers are lazy as well. If they cannot access the mailbox without getting out of their little mail trucks, they won't deliver your mail. However, they will get out to leave a note in your mailbox to says they can't access it. read more

I live 2 blocks away from here and when I need to mail a package I go all the way to the Shoreline branch just to avoid the people here. I had no idea how rude and un-helpful people could be. I mail packages all the time because I have an online business so I was looking for some shipping supplies. The old lady there yelled at me and rudely asked me what I was doing like I was stealing from them. I told her I needed some flat rate shipping boxes and told me I had to order them online and wait 10 days, even though I already know they are supposed to supply you with flat rate shipping boxes free at the location. Not only that, but it is a huge hassle dealing with them with buying your postage. Just dont go there. I feel like a criminal every time I walk in there. read more

This post office is the worst. I'm not usually one to leave a bad review, but deplorable service at the post office has become a regular occurrence now. Last month, my girlfriend sent a package that was addressed to my house only for it to be held at the post office because my "name wasn't on the mailbox." Today I came in to mail a letter, there was only one employee and a long line. When I finally did get to the front, the lady at the desk makes me go to the back of the line all because I had yet to write the address on the envelope because I didn't know which envelope to use. By the time I got close to the front again, I had to leave because I ran out of time. Absolutely ridiculous, I have never EVER witnessed such incompetence at a post office or even any public business for that matter. Unless you wanna spend an hour to ship your mail, I'd find a different post office. SMH read more

Please use another post office till the rude employees are fired. I was there to use the automated package machine after the lobby closed and there was a line. An employee opened the door and came out and with an attitude from the get go. Telling everyone they were closed and closing the open door on us that was providing ventilation. About 10 minutes later another woman came out with the same exact attitude. Everyone was trying to be nice to here as she was being rude to us. I support public mail but this is why some want to privatize the mail service so employees with attitudes like this could be fired on the spot. They should be. This is the worst post office I have ever been to. I came in and waiting for over 20 minutes while there was one person at the counter. I avoid this place at all costs. RUDE customer service every single time I go (not always me but I'm always amazed that I hear at least one rude thing each time I have to go). There clearly isn't great management either because I have been standing in a line 6+ people deep and they close down a window or sometimes more than one and leave just one person working. They routinely finish with a customer, walk away and leave a whole line of people. CUSTOMER SERVICE?!?!?! I now choose to drive the extra 10 minutes to the Shoreline branch just so I don't have to deal with the staff here. It's a shame since I only live about 6 blocks from this branch. Thankfully my mail comes from the Shoreline office so if I have to pick something up it's there and not Lake City. I grew up in this neighborhood and sometimes drop by to use this post office. (I now live elsewhere in Seattle.) I've always had a pleasant experience and am impressed with the reasonable cost of USPS (as opposed to Fed Ex and UPS -- yikes!). DO NOT ship anything using USPS. Go to UPS or Fedex. Seems like there's theft going on among themselves. I had one package shipped from CA to Seattle, WA with Priority Mail, and when it reached this post office it was scanned in. Since it was on a weekend and the business I was shipping to was closed, they were supposed to automatically deliver the next business day. That never happened. So I called in a few days later and requested for a re-delivery. That was noted but the package never moved. As of now (3 weeks since I shipped the package), my tracking number still shows that the package has not been delivered, yet USPS said they couldn't find my package. It somehow mysteriously disappeared after it was scanned in. Since I sent via Priority Mail, the claim dept. offered $50 + shipping cost back to me, although the item I sent was over $300. There's one thing if the package was lost after delivery, but this package is with them the entire time and has never gone out. read more

Worst customer service I've seen from a post office in a long time. This is one of the few in the area open on a Saturday, so it gets busy. Yet, the customers are generally patient and doing their best to figure out the system. I saw the two staff here today scold (not discuss, offer options, but scold) literally 12 of 15 customers. I understand these are government bureaucrats dealing with a twisted system. I, myself, am a government employee. I get that it's frustrating to be understaffed and dealing with a variety of archaic systems. Don't take it out on the customers. read more

Is there a way to vote 0 stars? Definitely some of the worst customer service I have experienced by the lovely Lake City USPS office. Not exactly a surprise when you are dealing with government workers. USPS delivery woman refuses to deliver and pick up mail from our mailbox. Her reasoning is that our cars are parked too close to the mailbox and she cannot pull up to the box. How do I know this is BS? Because our neighbor whose mailbox is connected to ours receives mail every day. When we call to speak to a manager we are greeted by an angry woman who can barely speak English. Once she figures out you are trying to issue a complaint she basically hangs up on you. . We have filed a complaint with the USPS Inspector General. I suggest whoever is having issues with the post office does the same. With our luck, maybe this branch will be shut down and we can hopefully get our mail from the fine folks over at the Wedgewood location. Night and day difference between the too. read more

She put my letter aside in the counter without stamp it , I ask again politely"Can my letter get a postmark stamp, please". she responded with anger " You don't trust me! take your letter back and go somewhere!". Thus I can't address pick-ups, etc. In terms of buying stamps & other products, & mailing packages, I've never had a problem. Shockingly bad and rude service. Called the post office to ask simple question and was highly courteous. But, I could not understand the agents broken English (Asian accent). When I commented that I was having a hard time understanding (without reference to her accent or anything that could be considered offensive) and could I speak to a supervisor, she replied that she was a supervisor and actually hung up on me. Unbelievable. When I immediately called back, and was similiarly pleasant and calm, she recognized my voice and hung up on me again. At no time was I anything but pleasant. We live about a mile from the Wedgwood post office and about two miles from the Lake City office. And, yet we get our mail from the latter one. Over the years I have had many visits to the Lake City Post Office, mainly to pick up mail after vacation holds. I have got to know the people working there and also got used to what passes for "service" there. There's the guy who goes in search of the mail and never comes back. There's another person who always tells you you have come to the wrong post office and only relents after spending minutes searching the obvious. There's the person patronizing older Asian women, lecturing them with sentences starting with "In this country..." There is the person who comes back with bundles of mail and refuses to give you a box. All of these have been there for years and they repeat their dismal performances every time I go there. Although I have succeeded in reducing our mail volume by signing on to electronic delivery of everything I could, there's still mail that has to be physically delivered and I have to go back to the Lake City Post Office. Walked in to ask a simple question about change of address because I had no access to a computer and I happened to be in the area after work at about 5:15, 15 minutes before closing. Came up politely to a young guy with glasses. Before I even finished my question, I was interrupted and passed off to an Asian lady that ended up being one of the rudest women I have ever dealt with. It was like I was an inconvenience being there. She rudely scoffed at me. They must have people that just take their crappy treatment and leave, not me, I dished an attitude back at these lazy, rude staff members. Then they had the audacity to be offended towards me. You can't be disrespectful to a patron and expect not to be treated the same way. The guy at the counter with glasses I first encountered even tried to make me look bad in front of another customer saying "yeah it's almost 5:30" as he looked and laughed at me. He was even on his personal cell phone.Then the lady was brainless and couldn't answer my question even though she was a supervisor. She was like "I don't know your post office number" Later I ended up getting access to my computer and found what I was looking for in two minutes. Lazy, unprofessional, rude idiots work here. It shouldn't even be a post office and should be shut down. If I ran that place, I would fire those two on the spot. Either way, I left satisfied knowing that I left them speechless with my insults. As the USPO decides to cut back and close locations may they put this one at the top of their list! The postmaster is rude, unresponsive, and altogether unhelpful. My mail is lost or my neighbors is placed in my box on a regular basis. They do not return calls. I have excellent professional and people skills but I have given up on postmaster D****** and her unhelpful, unkind attitude. I feel extremely sorry for her staff who are indeed kind and helpful but USPO needs to pay attention to the comments here and I am sure elsewhere and choose their managers with better discretion. Apparently my opinion is shared by many but so far no action on the part of those who can make a change.. . read more

One star is being generous! This place deserves the award for the worst post office in North Seattle! It is definitely the worst customer service I've encountered in a long time. The clerk made a comment to everyone trying to mail packages that the packages may not make it due to this or that! Who says that?!!! I'm sure these people have mailed packages out in the past. He told me the pre-paid postage I bought online wasn't going to work because the font was too small. Who the hell are you?! I made him take the package since it didn't fit in the mail slot. He never thanked anyone but made sure to shout "Next" at the top of his lungs. On top of the rotten customer service, the self serve kiosk that used to be open when the post office was closed is no longer open. Major inconvenience, plus who the hell wants to deal with this dumbass! Go the extra mile and visit another post office. This one is so done! read more
