Beyond atrocious. Often only a single person working the windows and that one person is slow beyond belief. An older woman with out-of-bed hair who's average transaction time is around 10 OR MORE minutes for sending A SINGLE PACKAGE. Let me break that down. Four people in front of you can be as much as a forty minute wait. The parking meters outside are for max 30 minutes. Mine was expired when I got out. Fortunately, no ticket. Other workers are rude but, it would seem, not as inefficient. Is this what it's come to with the USPS? Workers who hate their customers. Handwritten signs on cardboard in the window that look like those written by street beggars? Nobody providing efficient service? Not interested in the concept of service? These are not proud workers of what should be a noble service. They are leaches protected by knowing they can get away with the worst service imaginable. Read the endless reviews. They are sadly all highly credible. The attitude is astounding. The facilities are third world. The overall experience borders on humiliating. A single undercover visit from the postmaster general would leave him reeling and angry. The USPS is bad but it's not THIS bad. Other branches are better than this. It's simply not worth using this one when there are more well-managed branches around. One-star worthy because hey, at least the mail got to where it needed to go. read more

Last two times, my mails never reached to the destination. Because of this, in both occasions, I ended up paying a late fee. I dropped them in a mailbox outside. Don't use mailboxes there. Your mail would be missing. Also, when I went inside last time, workers there were angry or indifferent. read more

Despite hours posted as 9a-5p, the post office was closed with a sign saying " on break " at 4pm. Both the letter and package mail drops in the lobby were full, the self service kiosk was broken, and there were about 20 people waiting in the lobby. After waiting about 20min, someone in street clothes opened the door and started yelling at everyone to get out, and that they were closed. There were some slower-moving handicapped people in the lobby and many had been waiting with large packages. She continued screaming at everyone to get out. When asked if the post office would be open the following day (a regular Tuesday) she said that she had no idea. read more

Came in around noon on 4/8. There was one clerk, who was very slow and rude. When I walked up without saying a word she said, "typically I like to call next, don't just march up here." When I nicely asked if my receipt had tracking, she gave me attitude. She was also watching YouTube on her phone at the same time. This is one of the WORST locations in Los Angeles. Understaffed, underfunded, rude, borderline incompetent. Everyone who works there appears Angry to be there and miserable. They only take cash randomly. Imagine waiting in line 30 minutes to find out they are not accepting American currency. They have Zero change.. hardly any overnight or USpS branded boxes & envelopes, never have stamps. Only one teller, line is out the store down the block. Everyone else who works there hanging out & talking or 90% of the employees are "out to lunch" at the same time. When i handed them a 50$ for a 42$ transaction they didn't have change and asked me "if this looked like a bank ?" I replied I'm starting to think this doesn't even look like a Post Office ! This place is pretty sad these days. It's only a few blocks from my home, so I have no choice but to use them much of the time, but ideally, I walk up to the self-service touch screen weight and mailer, do everything myself, and be on my way. That's a good day if I can do that! Two problems - A) This machine is broken half the time, meaning you have to stand in line and see a clerk like everyone else. B) Even when it works, there are usually a couple people in front of you who have no idea how technology works, have never used a touch screen in their life, and can't figure it out. So suppose you have to stand in the line. Good luck to you! I hope you brought some Airpods and a good podcast, and also have the capacity to stand for a long period of time. Despite having 6 or 7 booths, I have never seen more than two people working here. More often than not, it's just one! With a line of 10+ people, many of whom take five minutes each to look up the destination address, call their nephew to make sure they have the right address, and argue with the clerk over which post office they were supposed to pick up their parcel, you're looking at a 30+ minute wait most days. There's also no parking lot. Even in the most parking-deprived parts of LA, almost every post office in town still has a parking lot. Not this one! I just walk here now, because it's probably as fast as going up and down Norton and Laurel for a spot. read more

I also agree with everyone when I say that the employee here is rude! I went to go buy a money order and I had my money folded in 10s of $20. I have trust issues with these kinds of things. I don't trust this branch with packages anymore. I left some mail in the boxes outside, which are picked up by trucks like all other public mailboxes. But I had to buy some stamps so I went in. The clerk with the short bleach blond hair, Black, middle aged, wasn't wearing a mask while serving customers with her plexiglass window open. She called me as "next," and I said "Not until you put on a mask." So she refused to serve me. I talked w another employee over there and she mentioned she had a bad day and had another fight at the location and apologied to me. However, not matter how bad was her day she had to do her job in a professional matter. This is an updated review. I had to send quite a few packages and correspondence for my boss and I dreaded going to this office because of past experience. However.....Kathleen was amazingly helpful and kind. She had to do a lot to get my packages through and she did some additional taping to be sure they were secure. I have to mention that she is very cheerful and sweet, a pleasure to deal with. As to the masks....the workers are behind a thick barrier....and then they are at least a couple of feet behind the counter as well. The loonies whining about masks should just stay home and hide under their beds. read more

Paid for mail forwarding. It's not working. Things are getting returned to sender. I called about this issue. They said everything is fine. I have had multiple places alert me to returned mail. They want me to take my time (I have a full-time job) to go to a post office and pay to send myself first class or certified mail to see if it gets returned. I told them this is impossible due to my work schedule. Someone called me back named UDARA. He was incredibly rude and would not transfer me to a supervisor. He said he was a supervisor. I asked for his boss. He said, "Not right now." I asked for a refund for this service and he hung up on me. He is a vile customer service employee. read more

I'm standing here as she chit chats with a customer who seems to enjoy looking at the line of 30 people waiting to be served. The postal worker states that she is going to close up shop and all of the waiting customers will have to come back the next day. I was wary of going to this post office due to the reviews. However, I went anyway, and I'm glad I didn't redirect due to reviews because I had a pretty good experience. The staff was very helpful, making sure my parcel was marked correctly and got to where I needed it to in plenty of time. She took the time to make sure everything was marked in a way where it was clear it was priority. A man came in to drop something off and was saying hi to the two women working, and they knew him by name. One person did mention the machine had stamps at the bottom and was open in the lobby area, and the lady helping me asked the other woman, Maria, to go check it. She did immediately. I will say, the reviews about some staff not wearing masks- I did see that to be the case. However, they are behind a thick clear barrier, so it's not like they are in an open room like that. 4 stars because of the mask because some people may have issue with that, and possible problems with the machine with the stamps, but most things were good especially as the post office is having trouble these days. For all the things they are probably dealing with, the staff sure was kind. All around they were efficient and kind. I was happy with my experience and I'll use this post office again. read more

I have lived in the neighborhood for the last 25 years and have never had such a horrible experience as I've had today at the Post Office on Fairfax Ave in West Hollywood. I wasn't minding the long line and wait, as I know it's the Holidays. I was chatting with a lovely couple and their 4 month old child and not minding the wait. However, I tried to get the attention of a postal worker (named Eve) to ask her to request two massless customers in line to mask-up. Eve instead yelled at me. I couldn't make out what she was saying, but I could tell she became angry with me for disrupting her. I then realized Eve too was not wearing a mask, so I quietly assumed she thought I was asking her to wear one, and let it go. Then, 20 minutes later when it was my turn to approach one of the two open window's, I stood waiting to be called while Eve appeared to be counting money...much like cashing-out her station. But as I wasn't sure, I approached and asked if she was closed for the day. What followed next left me flabbergasted. She began yelling at me again. She snarled she was "supposed to not even be working, but came in to help" - and "didn't need me giving her problems and attitude!!!! I then tried to explain I was merely inquiring, which she put up her hand and said she 'didn't want to hear it" and she stormed away from h er window. She stomped over to the other post-person. Eve pointed at me and whispered to her. I heard the phrase 'asshole' used. Eve then left altogether and I stood frozen and a bit in shock. Finally, when post-person #2 was done from helping her customer, she looked at me - and then she too walked away from her window. I heard her talking to the security guard (Kathleen) in back. I heard once again the word "asshole" used and something to the effect that she was not going to help me. Mind you, this clerk #2 had no idea what really had happed at window #1 but only what she had been (falsely) told. Kathleen approached me and wanted to know what I needed. I shared that I only needed a roll of stamps. Kathleen walked to window and told clerk #2 what I needed, and #2 spat they 'are all out". In other words, she was refusing to help me. Although Kathleen seemed to be understanding, she was getting nowhere with the clerk on my behalf, and so I left the Post Office empty handed after a 55 minute time spent there. Mind you, this all happening in front of a long line of people and I was forced to endure one of the most embarrassing and unnecessarily aggressive and ugly behavior I've ever received Now I'm no longer wondering why the American Post Office is looking like it's being phased out. I've always been a champion for them - in doing what I can to bring them my money. But today was so outrageous and embarrassing - let um' rot! read more

I have not changed my location but I do live in the area now. This post office and most in the area are abominations! Filthy and unkempt and in disrepair, inside and out! This clearly has been the condition for many years. Perhaps the hostile and agressive behavior by the employees is a result of this? One can be as kind and docile and respectful as one can be and STILL, these employees are rude and indifferent. I cannot think of anything nice to say about these facilities OR their employees. The employee shook her head at me bc I simply took my card out too soon and she had to *god forbid* start the transaction again with NO ONE behind me. I said, that was unnecessary and she said well you don't have to take it personally........and then all the employees laughed with her at my expense! Where is the mutual respect for humans? I go to this post office because it's where my box is. Otherwise I would never go. I completely concur with all the comments about the service and insolent attitudes. Why can't someone do something!!!! They can't find a very important piece of mail I know was delivered there. The one true statement made by the woman with the bleached hair was that there's nothing she can do. Amen to that! Obviously she doesn't like her job and dealing with people.
