They don't pick up the phone during normal business hours. One of the lines (for delivery issues) tells you the phone mail is full and then disconnects you. I'd give it one star were it not for some positive experiences with the people who work there when I have to go there, which I do as rarely as possible because they often have lines backed out the door. (Not the fault of the people at the counter, though.) I am referring to the Wilkes-Barre PA post office on Main Street, by the way. read more

Mountain Top, PA post office , opened late on Saturday Jan 13, 2024 instead of 9:00am about 9:25 am. Just went in for stamps and worker was very rude. Will not buy my stamps their anymore. read more

Within the past month the post office lost3 packages, they only called me about the first one but will not call back about the others. The last package was mark as delivered, I was home and as soon as the mailman left my porch I went out and only had mail no package but they marked it as delivered. This is why I will not ship via usps. read more

My mom mailed my birthday card from here and it arrived torn open with the gift card taken out and the card put back in! Thanks usps! You care so much you at least sent me the card after stealing! Isn't that a federal offense? read more

This "big" main Post office is a nightmare. Can't even get "package pick up" requests picked up (even though I get an email saying pick up was successful.... ah no, it's in my hands now while waiting for my bus) & I have to now get on said bus to go & stand in line to have pre-printed/paid shipping labels scanned & have them actually move out of the P.O. The few packages I was actually able to have carrier pick up successfully done on, never ever get scanned. Packages sit in this P.O. for days before leaving & only move out when you are forced to file a complaint with U.S.P.S... Forget trying to call... You will NEVER get anyone to answer, so on a bus I go... AGAIN... The higher they raise the shipping prices, the worst the service gets... read more

Good morning, I have also called this post office for last 3 days, I have has a problem with a shirt I sold, on Ebay back in December 12, 2017. Customer has not received package, so I have called the post office. No one picks up the phone, and mail box is full, this is the 3th day in a row. I did check the tracking #, shows it was in Wilkes Barre, Pa on 12/15/17, then shows nothing else. I sold something on eBay and did the Click-N-Ship label and put it in the mail drop on Dec15, as I usually did before. Now is Jan9 the tracking keeps showing awaiting item and the buyer never gets it. i filed a missing mail search request but never get response. I called the usps 800-number a few times. It was always a recording then put me on hold for over 30min until I hung up. I also called this post office several times but they never picked up or the voicemail box was always full. I finally reached the inspectors office trying to ask if anyone else who put mails in the same mail drop reported lost mails but she transferred me to Harrisburg office which was a recording. No call back yet. Now I have to refund the buyer and I lost the item. read more

I am continually having issues with my mail being returned. Mail is delivered to my residence for weeks at a time and then unexpectedly mail starts being returned. Then it's delivered again and then it's not. It's aggravating and really inconvenient especially when my W4s were returned and it took an extra 3 weeks for me to acquire them as a result. Countless attempts at contacting the wilkes barre post office are a waste of time. I've tried more times than I can count if I had to guess I'd say 50 or more attempts over a 4 month span. No one ever answers and whenever I get a voicemail box it says it's full. It's an absolute joke that all mailboxes have been full for months. I wouldn't doubt if it's been years. It's obviously purposeful at this point. Its incredible that they get away with it. Ive gone to the post office twice as well and each time the line was outrageous due to a staff of one and I couldn't stay the hour because I had to work. Gonna try again today since I took the day off and maybe just maybe I'll get lucky and actually get my mail everyday not just occasionally when they feel like delivering it. read more

The Wilkes-Barre Post office has got to be one of the worst. Don't go there expecting to get "help". You will wait for a supervisor until that supervisor feels like dealing with your problem. You will also leave without a solution to your problem. They will "look into" the problem but beyond that they can be of no assistance. So why have supervisors? How much money do these people get paid for doing nothing. What about checking on a status while the customer is there. Is it really that difficult. I don't believe so, I believe that they feel as though they have their job to do that day and that is all. 3-5 business to find out where mail was forwarded is just uncalled for. Having customers stand and wait an hour is also uncalled for. This place needs an entire overhaul. Even the front window clerks don't want to work in this place. Poor. Horrible. Terrible management. Clean house and hire younger hungry people. They will get the job done. read more

This has to be the most unprofessional post office I've ever had to deal with. I wait on the porch for the mail every day because the staff at the Wilkes-Barre post office and their carriers are dishonest and are getting away with a federal crime, mail theft. When they aren't losing/stealing mail, carriers partially deliver mail. They keep other mail, like packages in the mailbag or truck. Our carrier had to be asked many times to look in the mailbag for the rest of my mail, which was indeed in the bag. I suppose they withhold mail in hopes of finding something expensive. It makes no sense why they'd do this, except that they're thieves. They've "lost" my packages many times. These were packages that they scanned as delivered, despite them never handing the package to me. I waste my time waiting for them on the porch. I even work my doctor appointments around the time packages are to be delivered to ensure I receive my package, and they still manage to "lose" my packages! When they aren't stealing/losing mail, they consistently deliver mail late. Again, this is despite the fact that the tracking states it was delivered. When I asked supervisors how they can scan the package as delivered when I never received it, they pretty much accused me of lying. Complaining to supervisors gets you nowhere. These people are all rude, unprofessional, crooks. I've even complained to the postmaster and nothing was done. If you can avoid using USPS in Wilkes Barre do so because if your package has to be handled by them chances of it being lost/stolen are great. Choose another carrier because these people will lose/steal your packages and they don't care if you complain. The same unqualified criminals who tamper with your mail will continue to work there and you will never feel secure that your mail will get to you. The deserve -100 stars! read more
